Omakase by korami New York Reviews from The Last Year
great value for how much you pay! service is super
great value for how much you pay! service is super attentive and workers are great to chat with. to me, a great omakase experience includes the vibes and i personally love when the chefs are fun and easy to talk to quality of the fish was great and super tasty. i'm not an uni person at all so i was hesitant to have their uni but it was super fresh and didn't taste fishy at all pretty simple omakase set but super fresh and tasty nonetheless also great for a group booking of around 10-11 (had a birthday here) they let you BYOB and are accommodating
By far the best omekase/sushi we've had in the US.
We just came back from Japan and this is hands down the most authentic Japanese restaurant we've been to. The fish was absolutely amazing, with the perfect amount of soy sauce/wasabi (real wasabi, not horseradish like some places). The fatty tuna was a particular highlight. The seating was typical Japanese style with an L shaped counter and you can see the sushi chefs preparing the food. We tried a few of their sakes, and they were all excellent. We came for my sister-in-law's birthday and they gave us a free glass of a very good sake to celebrate. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the sushi chefs were fantastic. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this place is. We will be coming back, and recommending it to friends and family.
There literally nothing I can complain about when it comes
There literally nothing I can complain about when it comes to choosing to dine here. Firstly non-food related things. It's relatively easy to get a reservation here if you plan ahead like at least a week in advance. The location is awesome for a fun touristy day in NYC, close to Times Square. Service is so wonderful here; I came here with my boyfriend during winter time and right when we walked in, the hostess offered to take our coats and hold our shopping bags so that we could be clutter free at the counter for dinner. Lastly, the bathroom is oddly stacked with literally anything you need from floss to mouthwash qtips and more lol. The food was pretty standard omakase; it really is a bargain experience because all the sushi tasted so delicious and it was only under $100 per person. I also got a yuzu soda with my meal which was good too. Overall, great experience, would definitely recommend and I would definitely come back! :)
All 13 courses were unique and delicious.
Chef Ben was kind and knowledgeable about the food he prepared for us. The restaurant is very small and only limited to about 10 people at one time since there were 3 chefs preparing sushi.

I've had the pleasure of dining at this place three times, and it's been such a treat every time. Alan, the manager, is very kind and often gives my party and I complimentary pours of sake. I also really like Chef Kong and his sense of humor. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed. I always have such a good time. They are also pretty attentive at refilling your glass when you're running low on water or sake. I like that the menu changes a bit every time I go. This time, for instance, was my first time having squid. My favorite is always the uni, so I am glad that seems to be something that is always served. It lasts for an hour, so it's quick, but I left feeling happy and pretty full!
Wonderful omakase dinner.
Ambiance was intimate and fun. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming here again the next time we're in NYC!
Came here for my birthday dinner because I love all things
Came here for my birthday dinner because I love all things Japanese cuisine and Omakase by Korami did not disappoint! Service, food, and drinks were phenomenal. I did feel a little rushed though so be aware this is only an hour dine in experience. The restaurant is small and there is only counter service Available so you can see the chefs prepare the food right in front of you. Friendly atmosphere with so many delicious and fresh nigiri. My favs: catfish, salmon, bluefin tuna w caviar. Melted in my mouth, soo fresh and so much flavor. Loved! We enjoyed our meal over Dassai 39 sake and I was excited to get a tuna hand roll birthday surprise with a candle in it. Super sweet from the chefs and it was such a great birthday dinner.
A wonderful experience
We went for our anniversary and had an amazing meal. Our chef explained every course and it was all delicious. Watching the chefs was truly a pleasure. The yuzu sake was a treat. Our meal ran right on time but didn't feel rushed. We even had time to order another item but it would have been plenty of food without the extra. Very well priced for the quality.
One of the best in the city when weighing price vs.
quantity/quality: 15 quality pieces for $89 plus tax/tip? I'm there. Reservation was easy via Resy. They do have a $60 per person cancellation fee, but they were super kind and understanding when I explained a situation where I would have to change my reservation time to much later that evening. The place is small, with about 10ish seats around the bar. They only give you an hour, but I felt like the meal was still well paced overall. We got a great variety of some favorites: ikura, uni, chutoro, ootoro, etc. The server came regularly to check on us, and also offered free shots of sake that we got to enjoy with our chefs! Definitely great value for the price. I will be back!
THE best omakase I've ever experienced ranging from all
THE best omakase I've ever experienced ranging from all parts of the United States. Service: My partner and I got a private experience as you have to make reservations well in advance. You're seated promptly after the previous batch of people and the chef as well as the owner take their time to get to know you. The chef tells you each piece of art they make for you and the manager/owner likes to talk to you and get to know you a little bit. We loved having conversation with our host as he was very friendly and attentive. Food: By far, each single piece was handcrafted right in front of you with absolute technical skill. My favorite pieces were anything with negi toro or fatty tuna. The chefs definitely know what they are doing. Flavors blended well together and not too much wasabi was added between fish and rice. Overall, if this spot was in California, I'd love to come back on a monthly, if not weekly, basis.
customer service and ambiance was lovely, food was a bit
customer service and ambiance was lovely, food was a bit lacking for the price. with the competitive environment of omakase in nyc there are better options out there.
Ok Omakase
The place is nice. Food is great and very fresh. They need to work more on presentation to make it as a wow factor. Some of the chef are friend some not quite. When they serve the dishes, I expect them to explain a lil more about it. In most case, the chef would say 1 word right quick and it was in japanese so sometimes I didn’t even know what I was eating. But yes, recommend for anyone looking for reasonable omakase in NYC

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕

Might depend on what market you're in? Some have not been developed yet and some are still growing. Make some reservations ahead of time and post them for sale and get ahead of the bot bids? IDK.

I totally agree with you. I’ve had the same thought and issues. But there’s no way to stop it as far as I know, unfortunately. I was worried this was going to happen and apparently it has😞
