If you're vegetarian, go to Tao nearby instead, PC was quite underwhelming. Pretty much all veggies and apps we ordered with the exception of dumplings were not tasty. Even their chilly oil isn't flavorful. Crispy cauliflower is listed as an entre but it's a plate of bland batter fried cauliflower which should be an appetizer, and even then it will be lacking in taste. Same for salt and pepper tofu. They need a new chef. Eben hole in the wall Chinese restos are more flavorful.

Oh my god!!! What an amazing time I had at this establishment! The manager christy was a sweetheart! Joli makes the best drinks and is so kind!! I always come and they always make it such a great experience! Can't wait to come back to my favorite restaurant and have my favorite dish in the world, chicken satay!!!!

Came here for dinner and the vibes were immaculate and the food was fantastic! All of the appetizers and entrees were delicious, but for me, specifically the Beijing Chicken and the House Mignon did not miss! What elevated the experience even more was the hospitality of the staff. Our waiter was so friendly, and the manager, Christy, was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. She always made sure our table was well taken care of. It's clear that they are all committed to providing great service and a phenomenal dining experience in NYC. Would highly recommending to anyone looking to eat in the UES - 10/10!

Part of our party was late, but our table was still available. The house music adds to the experience. Order the crispy duck, soup dumplings and any Phillipe drink and you will be over the moon!

Be the first to ReplyWayyyyyyy too overpriced.
I'm sure food quality may be better compared to other Chinese take out places but it doesn't taste too much different. $40 for a small box of crispy beef?! This is definitely a one person portion. Rice low quality, green beens under seasoned, and the beef tasted good but I would never pay that much again. This meal cost $86. Nope never again.

Safe to say one of the best experiences. Such great vibes and energy. The staff and serves was attentive and super sweet! The food was great, ordered the Chicken Satay as part of the appetizers and it was delicious! Definitely recommend this spot for your next date night or girl's night!

Good food, waiter was truly a phenomenal as well as all other staff. Peking duck carved by the chef. It was a good choice for our occasion.

Went to Philippe Chow on 60th for my friend's birthday and farewell dinner. She had wanted a "posh" place and another friend recommended here. What a let down! Dinner was just the three of us. For the price of dinner which came to almost 600 dollars for the three of us, this place is ridiculously over-rated. From the ambiance which can only be described as chaotic, the pitch black bathrooms (still not sure what that was about) and the food... I ordered the duck spring rolls which were ok (not amazing by any means) and then ordered the Peking duck as a main. The duck seemed to have been loaded with a bucket of salt, completely inedible. Because I didn't want to complain, I asked my dinner companions to taste it, no one could eat it. We called the waiter over who asked if I wanted something different or for them to make me a new one, I asked for a new one as I had my heart set on it. He said it would take at least 15 minutes. Less than 5 minutes later, it was on my table. One taste confirmed that it was likely the exact same duck, salty and inedible. Again the waiter was called and by this time I had lost my appetite. My friends insisted I order something different. I ended up ordering spare ribs from the starters and a vegetable fried rice. I ate one rib and asked for the rest to be packed to go. We had two deserts, the chocolate trilogy and another one. Both ok, nothing amazing. I was just so disappointed with dinner on Friday. I have no problem paying for good food but this was not it, in fact far from it. I found the place over priced and over rated. Next time for good Chinese food I am heading to China town!

The best way to sum it up, is simply amazing! One of the most consistent restaurants I've ever been to! I can say that confidently because we have ordered the same exact thing the last dozen or so times we've gone! Beef satay, pork soup dumplings, spare ribs, crispy beef, house mignon... all on point every time! The little panda chop sticks holders also make us very happy. Can't wait until next time!
Be the first to ReplyTasted like McDonald's and was $180 before the tip.
Everything was disgusting, overly fried, and after we put the order in, the food came in less than 5 minutes which is disgusting (especially considering the prawns which were hot and in a sauce were one of the things we ordered - $39 for 4 and came out immediately). The chicken satay is inedible. The beef doesn't taste like beef. I have no idea why anyone would ever rave about this place. People who do have no taste.

The cute little greenhouses on the street are quaint and comfortable. Had the prix fix lunch special and was really disappointed. The chicken satay was just strange...orange meat with a odd sauce. The lettuce wraps also odd color of orange and mediocre. Main courses of crispy beef was also strange and drenched in a thick orange sauce (not sure why everything is orange colored at this place). The branzino was the one good dish. Very tasty. The desserts were good while the coffee was weak. Overall disappointed.

Had an amazing dinner with a wonderful server Rilind, who really made our evening special! We will be back! Also felt safe in the outdoor heated pod!
Be the first to ReplyFood was good.
But nothing special. We had the restaurant week menu and it was fine. It felt like we were rushed through the entire meal. It was fine.
Be the first to ReplyA birthday hot spot with either a group or with a date.
Place has a great vibe to it and beautiful decor. The satays are excellent and that peanut sauce is incredible. The filet mignonette was cooked perfectly and was tender. The kung pao chicken had a nice kick it. Overall great place

Came to Philippe's for dinner with my husband on a Wednesday night and it wasn't crowded thank goodness because the tables are set very close together. We knew we had to start with their famous chicken satay and all I can say is wow! Definitely lives up to the hype! The sauce is amazing and is a must when coming here! We also tried the dumpling sampler (vegetable -our fav, shrimp, chicken), velvet chicken (just ok) and lo mein was delish. I had the lychee martini (weak) and espresso martini. But my favorite was the dessert Cotton Candy Baked Alaska... it was amazing! I can't wait to return!!!! The reason I took off a star was because the gratuity was added to our bill for 2 people when the menu clearly states that gratuity will be added for 6 or more guest. That annoyed me.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for valentines weekend.
Wife got food poisoning as soon as we got home. On the drive home she said she wasn't feeling good. Food was not prepared and cook the way it was supposed to. Brought the wrong food out and then rushed to bring the food we ordered. The family owned Chinese spot by my house is 10 times better than this and $230 cheaper if I ordered the same thing.

Philippes is always a goodie you return too! This was my first visit downtown and I enjoyed it. A lot more of a downtown, fun, edgier cool crowd! It was great to see different types of beautiful people. The service was amazing. Nia the bartender was a sweetheart with a beautiful smile. Kevin our server was amazing, kind, funny and charming. It was a pleasure to have him as my server! I will visit again.
