The veggie review! The focaccia was well made The burrata
The veggie review! The focaccia was well made The burrata was amazing and so was the bread served with it. The pizza Bianca really did hit the spot, it was perfectly garlicky and yum. Will definitely come back to try more This place gave a perfect neighborhood Italian restaurant vibe and the servers were sweet too

I had Fresh pasta well sauced and pretty perfect. My friend had the meatballs and they were tender fatty delicious.

We showed up almost 45 minutes early and Piccino was able to accommodate us without issue, which we appreciated. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was okay only, to be honest. I'd give them a 3/5 for food alone. We ordered a pizza which was nothing special and a bit too sweet for my taste. We also got pasta which was perfectly al dente, but it basically tasted like an elevated mac n cheese. Our brussels sprouts appetizer was drowning in oil, but the focaccia was great. We also ordered a cocktail and a glass of wine, which we didn't love. Piccino has a great neighborhood-y, cozy, intimate vibe, but we weren't wow'ed by the food.
Be the first to ReplyVery tasty spot in Dogpatch for Italian.
Upscale vibes with a very warm interior. We very much enjoyed the pastas and split lots of other dishes so we could try a number of things on the menu. Stand outs included the persimmon pizza and the short rib agnolotti

Wow. Too notch dinning experience at Piccino! Perfect meal, perfect service from friendly staff. (You know, I've decided when you have excellent staff, that are cheerful and friendly it's a sign they are being treated right by good management. When I go to a restaurant and the service is unbearable by angry unpleasant staff I've decided it's probably because they are not treated well. It's likely management themselves are angry, overbearing, micromanaging, unpleasant people that treat their staff so badly they can't help but pass that on. Hey, it doesn't happen that often but... when you have truly marvelous, intelligent workers it's obvious they like working there and have pride in what they are doing) The food: every bite was perfect. They had a special menu available which is what drew us in to try Piccino. All week I've been thinking about how perfect that meal was. I can almost taste each dish every time it comes to mind. I did take photos but it was hard to stop eating to do so... though it helped to draw out the experience which was a plus. I can't wait to go back and eventually try their entire regular menu! Too bad they are closed on Monday I'd go back tonight.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, I'm surprised at how many good reviews there are
Honestly, I'm surprised at how many good reviews there are for this place. It is a very vibey environment and the staff were super kind, but the food did not live up to the hype. The salad was probably the best thing on the menu, and I didn't even come for the salad. The pizzas and pastas had no flavor. With the amount of great Italian restaurants in the city, this would be at the bottom of my list. Perhaps the breakfast is better (hence the reviews).
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite spot in SF for a date night with my son.
He loves Italian food, appreciates good EVOO and amazing woodfired pizza. The decor is modern/fresh classic and tasteful city vibes. I particularly like the Funghi pizza and the linguini with fresh crab.
Be the first to ReplyHad a great meal here.
Brussel sprouts were an amazing appetizer, pizza was good, my pasta stuffed with short ribs was incredible, other pasta dishes were good as well. Atmosphere nice, service excellent. A bit pricey though, bill was over $400 for 5 of us for dinner and a round of drinks for everyone.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered a fungi pizza as per recommendation to go.
They gave me the wrong pizza, would've been fine if the pizza they gave me was anything but thier cheapest strong plain cheese bread. I'd pref Pizza Hut over that one tbh. (Never order the pizza Bianca) I had to run for a warriors game so I just asked the guy dealing with me to refund me half of the pizza. Haven't received money back was still charged $18 bucks when the pizza I was forced to throw costs $21.... Tbh giving someone your most basic pizza getting it wrong and for the inconvenience it caused me i feel like it's normal to just refund the whole pizza at that point. You guys messed up, i got your worst pizza and had to throw it. Went hungry to the game. To not even refund 50% correctly or charge me for the initial higher costing pizza when that's not what I got ... that's hella messed up.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a wonderful little gem.
Truly amazing food. Prices are reasonable. Very good cocktails and the atmosphere is really really cute! Will definitely be back for brunch!
Be the first to ReplyThis might have been my favorite meal i've had in the 7
This might have been my favorite meal i've had in the 7 years i've lived in San Francisco. The Duck Confit Papardelle was the best dish i've ever had, hands down. NOTE: We went in Feb 2024 so if the menu is seasonal, go in February at least once in your life for this dish. My boyfriend had the Lemon Linguini and it was like an upgraded cacio e pepe (he added the crab which i recommend you do) and it was heavenly. I think I also had my absolute favorite dessert i've ever had...the lemon pudding cake. WOWOWOWOW. It melted in my mouth. I don't drool over desserts at restaurants, but this had me speechless. The portions were perfect, the atmosphere was amazing, and the service was impeccable. 11/10. Chefs kiss.

One of my fav Italian restaurants in the city, fresh pasta with seasonal ingredients. Menu very consistent and the service is very friendly. A hidden gem in dog patch district. If you are an Italian food you must try!
Be the first to ReplyQuaint little place in the Dogpatch.
Atmosphere is very nice. Menu is not kid-friendly. Waiter was friendly. Disappointed that the lunch menu is so limited. Would like to see more vegan/vegetarian options. Portions are small. There are no vegan options from the 5 appetizers or 4 entrees. The fungi pizza was ok... just basic. FYI, a 6% fee is added to the bill- doesn't say what this fee is for. Nice place for coffee and dessert. Would look somewhere else for a good salad and pasta primavera though.
Be the first to ReplyI never ever write reviews, no matter how bad the place,
I never ever write reviews, no matter how bad the place, food or service is. But Piccino can be proud - they pushed me to write a review, and not a good one. I went there for lunch with colleagues, to try this famous and raved-about place. Seeing all those beautiful pizzas in people's reviews, I ordered persimmon pizza, expecting adventurous flavors and juicy slices of persimmon fruit mimicking pepperoni. I got a circle of flatbread with cheese and little black plops/"poops" of shredded and sloppy-soft radicchio. Total disappointment. No persimmon in sight. I asked the waiter and was told that the orange drizzle is "persimmon pure". The pizza was bitter (radicchio) and boring. I was thinking maybe it was me, but my colleagues tried my pizza and bluntly said that it was gross and disgusting. I must admit that it was the worst pizza I had in my life. And I did have my share of pizzas around the world with toppings ranging from egg, through beetroot, to octopus. Anchovies are "tame" (and delicious) on that list. And the price of $25 + 20% tip makes this pizza even worse. It is embarrassing to compare, but for 1/3 of this price I can get much better tasting and 4 times bigger pizza at 7 eleven. So I am not going back to Piccino ever again, alone or with guests, and will never suggest it to anyone. This pizza and its bitter aftertaste (not only because of radicchio) will stay with me forever.

The french toast was the best! Incredibly fresh bread with a seasonal compote, paired with an oat milk latte. My favorite kind of brunch. The menu had a great variety and the portions were just the right amount. The space had huge windows, great natural light, and comfortable seating. It was the perfect spot for a girls brunch. They also had a covered outdoor seating area. We were in the restaurant space but right next door is a separate space to grab coffee or a bakery item to go.
Be the first to ReplyCutest neighborhood restaurant.
Sitting at the chef's counter is an awesome experience - I just wish the chairs had backs! It was a total bummer to be sitting on an uncomfy stool that long and detracted from my experience. As for the food, foccacia was great, chicories salad was lovely. Pasta portion size seems inconsistent. Mine in particular was very small, somehow left not full at all? Flavors were great however. Service was perfect no complaints there.
Be the first to ReplyCreative delicious Italian cuisine that melts in your mouth.
I've been fortunate to visit here a few times living in the city and I'm pretty sure I've had to make a reservation for each visit. Definitely a great restaurant for a first date or for date nights with friends or loved ones. My most memorable dish is their beef and pork polpette, I can definitely lick off the plate clean with their homemade tomato sauce they're presented in and wouldn't mind an extra side of it! We've also ordered the funghi and margarita pizza and a must try!
Be the first to ReplyFind Amazing exotic and authentic pizza flavors in the city
Find Amazing exotic and authentic pizza flavors in the city here. I realized they keep changing the pizza options on the menu - more reasons to go there again. We ordered the classic margherita pizza and Bianca - both were delicious, especially the pizza Bianca which was really appreciated among the group. I also enjoyed it despite the cheesiness. We also ordered a pizza which had squash and kale in it (which I don't see in the online menu) and it was my favorite. It offered a great balance of sweetness and tanginess - somehow it also made me feel like I was making a healthier choice lol. I would definitely recommend checking out this place - we had to make a reservation online because they are usually very busy on the weekends. They also seem to have an outdoor seating area which looked nice. The location is great and offers a chance to explore the dogpatch neighborhood after stuffing in those yummy totally worth-it calories.
Be the first to ReplyThis is our favorite neighborhood restaurant! If you live
This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant! If you live in the Dogpatch then you can't miss the iconic yellow exterior of Piccino. They have the best Italian food in the city IMO and we love coming to this spot for a date night or to grab a pizza and Aperol Spritz. It's good for any occasion. It's so good that we're going to be doing our rehearsal dinner here! I would definitely recommend making reservations especially on the weekends. They also have lovely outdoor seating and whenever we bring our dog, the staff immediately bring out a water bowl for him and bring him a treat. There's plenty of street parking nearby and it's in a really nice neighborhood. If you come here, definitely get the chiocciole pasta, the funghi pizza, the burrata, the foccacia bread and the meatballs!
Be the first to ReplyI found this place by searching family friendly dining as I
I found this place by searching family friendly dining as I was visiting from out of town and had my mom, fiancรฉ, and baby with me. It's hard to find places in the city that can accommodate a stroller and baby. Anyway, I found this place nearby the UCSF hospital so we decided to try. When I arrived, I was awkwardly greeted by the host who was pushing unreserved guests away by saying they needed reservations. He was going to do the same to me until a gentlemen came up and told him he had an open table. The odd thing about it was that there were literally 4 tables full and the rest were empty as well as the outside tables that were completely empty. I thought to myself wow this place must be awesome! Even though I wished we were greeted better. Once seated we were placed at on outside table with no awning over us, and next to an exposed propane tank heater. I put my baby in the stroller next to the heater since it was cold. We asked to be seated at the tables with the awning because they had electric heaters overhead, but we were told they all had reservations within the next 30 minutes. Someone came out to light up the propane heater and didn't know how, so the propane was leaking and it scared me to have my baby near it so I had to move her away. The waiter came and had to explain the menu to my mother because it's not outlined in the description what these items were like. They only had one salad which was called the chiccori salad, I asked if we could get just spaghetti and meatballs and was told no. I asked to get a pizza with no mushrooms and was told no. We were there for much longer than 30 mins and those tables we were denied were never full. I asked to get a soda with my meal and was told no! We ended up ordering the margherita pizza, the Brussels sprouts , two salads, pasta dish, and we got the zepoli dessert. All of the food was highly disappointing. The salad was disgusting and the pizza was plain and tasted like frozen pizza. The pasta tasted like hamburger helper. The best thing we had were the Brussels sprouts. Much to my dismay, the zepoli was disappointing too. The real kicker is I needed to change my baby and all three bathrooms had no changing table! I was so upset. I spent over $100 and I am disappointed is an understatement.

We recently bought a condo in the Portero Hill area of San Francisco. A new neighbor highly recommended Piccino's and specifically their meatballs. We checked it out, and they were right. They were exceptional. We did not have a reservation, and they worked us in even though they were busy. Don't miss the pasticcio pizza and the margarita pizza. We are glad they did, and we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyThis is really a 3.
5 rounded down due to the inconsistency in portion sizes. We ordered the beet salad, focaccia, the crab pasta, the pesto pasta, and the chicken. Once the pastas arrived, we finished the dishes in about 4 bites. Upon which, we glanced over at the table next to us who ordered the same dishes but had almost double the portion size! We definitely felt a little cheated and disappointed.Nonetheless, the quality was very good and we enjoyed the desserts as well. Beware the small portion sizes and skip the pasta.
Be the first to Replybut the food is world class.
we dine here often and are never disappointed. the menu changes with the seasons. the wine list is excellent. the service is efficient, and yet gracious.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for a late brunch.
Made a reservation and only had to wait a couple of minutes before being seated. Service was great - my party was brought water quickly and had no issues with placing our order. Food came out quicker than I expected as well. The brunch items seemed well priced at first ($20s for most main items), but when my duck ragu came out, it was smaller than I expected. It was tasty but pretty homogeneous in flavor. I would probably order something else. The French toast was a lot bigger than the duck ragu but wasn't anything too special. It met expectations but is comparable to other brunch places.
