My husband and I chose to go to Punjab grill for a celebration mean and left speechless. Not only was every dish absolutely amazing but the presentation and service could not be beat. We will definitely be revisiting! Parking around the restaurant is not very easy, so plan ahead!

My friend and I came here for my birthday back in the summer. We wanted to try this place since it opened. The drinks were nice, the burrata was interesting. We got butter chicken, which I needed to also order rice for it, it doesn't automatically come with rice. Overall the food was good, but on the pricey side. You are literally paying for the decor and location. The service was great and the staff is very friendly. I recommend this place if you celebrating something,

After receiving a gift card, my wife and I came here, and we thoroughly enjoyed this place. Growing up on traditional Indian food, I enjoy going out and trying different Indian restaurants. We started with some gol gappa, and while I could eat 40 or 50 of these, they came with a few pieces, which brought back some good memories. My wife and I also enjoyed some drinks, and the fantastic presentation of the drinks was equal to the flavor. My wife and I ordered our entrees, and the chole masala I got was delightful. The entire night was enjoyable from the service to the food.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and loved every moment. Our server was extremely attentive and thorough in explaining the menu. I highly suggest trying the Gol Gappa-similar to pani puri and very flavorful as well as the chicken tikka sampler-3 pieces of chicken cooked with different spices and served paired with a dipping sauce. My main sea bass dish with cauliflower was delightful! What makes this place special is the presentation of each dish-visually it was exceptional! Make sure to order some of their drinks as they're a show in themselves! My suggestions are Saffron Mystic and Smoked Anjeer. (The table next to us got Pandora's box and the presentation was super fun for that as well)-I won't ruin the surprise you've got to check it out for yourself! This restaurant is pricy but worth the splurge for a special night out. You might be able to find some street parking around or there's a parking garage under the Landmark Theater within a few minute walking distance.

What a great spot for Indian fusion food! We came to Punjabi Grill for a Diwali dinner and enjoyed our dining experience. We started off with drinks, with me ordering the pandora's box and my husband ordering the forbidden romance mocktail. The cocktails were lovely and the presentation Instagram worthy! For our appetizer and entrees, we chose the malai broccoli, palak paneer, vegan "goat" biryani, and a few rotis. Later, we had chai and salted caramel paneer cheesecake for dessert. I can be quite critical when people make chai, but this one was seriously good--just the right amount of spice. In fact, everything we ordered was flavorful and well-balanced. Equally impressive was the service. The wait staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I think it's a tad bit pricey, but overall no actual complaints.

Amazing food and service! I ordered the Vegan Goat Biryani and a side of paratha and I still think about it to this day. The drinks are also very nice and appeal to all of the senses. This restaurant pays attention to detail and hits the mark every time! Can't wait to come back. Perfect for a date night!

There is significant competition for modern Indian cuisine in DC. Punjab Grill does stand in a good position with fine-ish yet not-overly-fancy or expensive spot good for dinner. The decor and ambiance are quite warm, and the tableware are attractive. The cocktails are truly special, and come with show elements such as smoke and torch. The menu is a bit confusing to someone who may not be familiar with Indian food. Admittedly, I thought I knew what I was getting but got more confused with the recommendations. You cannot go wrong with the butter chicken and the palak paneer. Would recommend this place.

Alright, this was definitely a 5 out of 5 experience for food. I think the staff and the atmosphere could use a little work. The hosts might have been a bit new and were having a back and forth where to appropriately seat people -- and just a few other non-issue everyone-is-clearly-new kind of things. The backroom of Punjab Grill feels more like a conference room than a restaurant and it was freezing. I think you're better off sitting near the bar or in the room on the side. We ordered (sorry for not knowing the Indian names for these dishes or messing them up) the roasted eggplant (its like a dip/spread), naan, palak paneer, and the jackfruit "goat" vegan biryani. The jackfruit tastes surprisingly similar to meat and was great with the yogurt. The palak paneer is always a favorite of mine, would highly recommend. The butter naan was delicious. But the real winner was that eggplant spread...holy, I could eat it forever.Random, not the restaurants fault, but don't Facetime whoever at a restaurant. Especially when your connection sucks -- no one wants to hear that staticy voice of your best friend screaming at you over the phone. Sheesh.

We ordered a variety of small plates and the butter chicken for the entree. Our waiter provided phenomenal recommendations and was so attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The cocktails were an experience on their own! I ordered Pandora's Box which came in a treasure chest. My husband ordered a whiskey drink, with the glass filled with smoke at the table. They even provided me with a delicious mini-cheesecake with a candle. It was a very special evening and I would recommend for any nice occasion!
