Absolutely ridiculous that there's a minimum spend and maximum time limit when it takes so long to get the food out. Minimum gratuity is imposed when food is so expensive and service is bare minimum, disgusted by how the employees treat the customers. Crowded and loud with cramped dining spaces so close that you are elbow to elbow with other parties. Unfortunately, the food was decent.

They nickel and dime their customers and the ramen isn't impressive. Wouldn't come again. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 2/5** From the get-go, the restaurant isn't customer-friendly at all. The levels of nickel and diming were really off-putting. For example: not having a restroom, limiting seating time to 40 minutes even though it took nearly 15 minutes to get our ramen, charging to take home leftovers (!?), imposing a minimum gratuity, and imposing a minimum spend per customer. This laundry list of rules and extra charges leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and the staff isn't even warm or friendly to compensate. **Price & portion, 3/5** Portion size is decent, but quality of ramen is questionable and doesn't make it worth it. **Taste of the food, 2.25/5** I got the Hakata Tonkotsu ramen. While the broth was savory and not bad, the texture of the noodles wasn't chewy or springy at all. I also wasn't a fan of the toppings -- all the pickles and random veggies both felt like cheap fillers and didn't complement the tontoksu broth. The single slice of chashu wasn't even particularly tender.
Be the first to ReplySmall place, always busy.
We got lucky walking for 5 people get seated right away. Price range as it's economy inflation for gigantic bowl of ramen around $18-$22, best would be combo for one price. They do offering smaller size bowl of ramen, also a combo as well. Flavor in general great taste, very nice cooked to perfection noodle. It will be everyone's favorite dinner spot.
Be the first to Replycute little ramen place.
quick and easy the servers were super sweet and the food was tasty.
Be the first to ReplyWait time went by quick and the food was super good.
Staff had great customer service while still managing to get people in and out quickly!
Be the first to ReplyWasn't outstanding but was still quite enjoyable.
Seating is cramped due to the place being so small but it was alright. I'd give this place a 7.75/10.

They're famous for their oxtail ramen so be sure to try that. Broth is not too salty and meat was tender. There is limited seating and no parking. If you're staying in Waikiki, it's within walking distance. As some of the other reviews have mentioned they do have a ton of rules like limited dining time of 45 min so keep that in mind if you plan to socialize with friends.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a food critic friend recommend this restaurant but
We had a food critic friend recommend this restaurant but this ramen joint was similar to every other ramen joint that we've frequented. It's not bad, but it is also not special. The noodle is not house made but rather purchased from a noodle shop that supplies noodles to nearly all the noodle places in Waikiki. I had the butter corn ramen which had great flavor. My friend had the ramen with the fried rice as a side and it was definitely not the delicious Japanese style fried rice that many ramen places serve. The ambiance would be "dive." One thing to note is that they do require each person to purchase at minimum $18, so it's not a place for sharing nor a late or post dinner snack.

Daughter ate all the noodles plus some of mine when she got the kids size ramen without bean sprouts. Next time I should say no bamboo shoots because she picked those out and stuck them in my bowl. Husband got the muso ramen and liked it. I'm not as fond of the slice of pork put in the ramen. There's chili oil on the counter but if you want Sriracha sauce, you have to ask. Seating is around a u shaped counter with stools. This could be difficult if you have young children. Quick service.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is near the strip by the Royal Hawaiian
The restaurant is near the strip by the Royal Hawaiian Center and has limited seating so be sure to plan accordingly if you have a larger party. Like I'm talking maybe less than 30 seats. Thankfully, the 4 of us were able to sit next to each other. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, asking if we had any questions about the different ramen offerings although we had already come with the intention of ordering the Ox Tail Ramen. The ramen came out quickly as expected from a ramen spot and it was piping hot. The portion you get for the Ox Rail Ramen which made it worth the price although I wish the Ox Tail itself had a bit more flavor. It tasted a little bland despite it being very tender. I was also not a big fan of the broth although the rest of my party enjoyed it. I also got the Butter Miso Ramen and it was very rich to where it was hard to taste the broth flavor towards the end of the sitting. Despite that, it was still enjoyable. Maybe I'll request for a smaller slice of butter next time. The meat was soft and tasted as expected although it was a bit soggy as it was placed under all the other toppings rather than to the side of them. The noodles were very bouncy which I enjoyed and it had a good bite to them.
