This is a traditional Finnish restaurant and well worth the visit if you're visiting Helsinki. It was recommended by the Hilton Strand where we were staying but the front desk told us reservations were not necessary which is untrue. Upon arrival at the restaurant we were told there was no availability for dinner except at the bar which we gladly accepted since we neglected to make a reservation. You can tell the staff were not happy about us walking in without one. That being said it is all about the food and nothing else for me so it was all worth it! The best food we had in Finland.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service, really enjoyed eating here.
The restaurant name means Three Crowns and you'll see them on the tableware. This is very much a "local" restaurant. If you've eaten venison before, reindeer is similar in flavor but less game-y.

Amazing food! Amazing service! They forgot our reservation, but they quickly settled us anyways in the already full booked restaurant. The food was super good. The reindeer was super tender. The snitzel was just THE BEST. Thank you
Be the first to ReplyAffordable and yummy Scandinavian dishes! Great dinner vibe.
Highly recommend the meatballs :)
Be the first to ReplyA Finnish Classic! Delicious, traditional Finnish food.
Start of with an icecold Marskin ryyppy and the bluecheese snails are definitely delicious!

Sorry I don't have the Finnish names for the dishes, it was long soo just show the pics for reference.Found this restaurant on Yelp. The food is absolutely delicious. The price wasn't bad compared to the other restaurants on the tourist strip. This is off the beaten path, ย and lots of locals dine. The service was excellent, ย I always have to remind myself in Europe it's all about the dining experience. So you'll have to wait to not only get your menu, but take your order and to transition to dessert will take patience. Americans are use to fast business and flipping tables for profit. But I'm getting use to it. I will definitely recommend ppl to this restaurant for authentic Finnish cuisine. Before you leave Finland potatoes and cranberries will be your staple dishes.

Good salmon soup with Finnish bread, and the pike perch main course. ย I saw a lot of people ordering the meatball main course, which looked very good. ย Waitress was very efficient and friendly, and I did not need to wait long for my food.

I don't know Finnish food well enough to make a solid comment on how closely KK's cuisine represents it, but it feels like someplace built in the 1950s that has undergone minimal evolution... and that's a good thing. It's very classic table service, with some particularly great dishes. The salmon soup (I ordered it with no cream) was phenomenal, as was the sautรฉed reindeer. Since I initially discovered it, I've come here on every Helsinki trip. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately not a fan of this food the mashed potatoes
Unfortunately not a fan of this food the mashed potatoes are super salty so was the gravy and the meat. The salmon soup was very good so was the wine. Finish food is very salty maybe because of the cold weather and I love salt but this was above and beyond. It is a place where locals go to enjoy their local food. You should try it if you like salty food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and drinks, friendly service, reasonable price.
Wonderful meal, exactly what this weary hungry stupid American traveling party needed.
Be the first to ReplyTraditional Scandinavian food at it's best.
ย Tried some reindeer which was interesting. ย The garlic escargot was amazing. ย The bread is so light and fluffy. ย Very good food overall.

On our last night in Helsinki we came to Kolme Kruunua in search of traditional Finnish food and it didn't disappoint. The interior seemed very similar to the one at Seahorse across town and again the clientele were a mix of locals and tourists. I ordered reindeer as I had never eaten it before, it was served with gravy and mashed potatoes. I found reindeer as a meat a little salty though. A good meal though, I would recommend.

..! I've never had Fininish food and the closest Scandinavian food was from that little store, Ikea, back in the States. I had no idea what to expect but was very pleased with the amazing experience here in Helsinki. My friend and I were rounding out our 9 day trip of Stockholm, Barcelona, and Helsinki was our last stop and this was our last meal. We knew we wanted something authentic and special. We locate the space and walk in and feel like we are transported back in time. I couldn't describe it but from the older people drinking their steins of beer, wearing loads of layers from the cold night, and the incredible decor from the 1950's Olympics, it was quite memorable. The ladies who took our orders were patient and even though it seemed like we were the only non-locals here, they answered our questions and offered their suggestions. This place seemed like it off the beaten track and seemed like a quite authentic representation of Finnish fare. If I'm ever back in the area, you can count on my return.
