RedFarm 2170 Broadway New York, NY 10024 United States New York Reviews from The Last Year
DEE-licious!
No need to go to Chinatown for delicious NY/Chinese food: just head to Red Farm in the Upper West Side! The drinks and the food -- all are awesome -- but the Peking Duck? To die for. Charles, the manager, is fantastic; his staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive: we felt taken care of during our meal and never wanted for anything, not even a water refill. This needs to be a stand-by on everyone's list!
So disappointed with the Peking duck
Before covid, Decoy was known as one of the best places to get Peking duck. During covid, the restaurant was merged but while before this duck was a specialty, it's now an afterthought and the dish is sadly no longer great. The biggest drop is simply in the quality. The duck used to be plump, flavorful and fresh. Now it's clearly been sitting around for a few days. It's dry, with torn up bits of duck instead of whole cuts of breast meat. It's really sad to see what's become of a once great duck institution and we won't be back.
a real gem
really excellent, beyond expectation. had to wait a while even though we had booked, but they were very gracious. we sat at the bar and had great service. peking duck was simply amazing .

Fantastic perfectly cooked food with a wow factor in flavor
Fantastic perfectly cooked food with a wow factor in flavor in all the many dishes we ordered. Top notch service too. One if the best restaurants in NYC. Mean that! We can't wait to come back. Still thinking about the crispy spicy beef, crab and duck "dumplings" and BBQ beef fried rice.
Fantastic French fusion
Chinese fusion at its best. The French country ambiance meshed well with the Instagram ready dishes (and they had a wonderful taste to match with the visuals )
This review is from a visit back in mid December 2023.
We planned our day specifically to end it here and were very happy with that choice. Between the five of us, we ordered a crazy amount of food so while I cannot remember exactly what we ordered, I can say, you really cannot go wrong. It was like 30 minutes to closing time and everything was still delicious. Dumplings and Noodles were the right amount of chewy, all veggies were delicious, everything was tasty! Drinks were also very good! The real winner though was the service. It felt like you were just at a friend's home and that really took the entire experience over the top! Highly recommend!
Unpleasant smell from the outside
Unpleasant smell (an understatement) from the outside flowing into the restaurant. This could probably be mitigated if the restaurant handled its outside enclosure better or fixed the ventilation system (don't know what can be done). Anyways, one may end up eating while there is the smell from the underground ventilation. Service and food are ok, but nothing special by NYC standards.

YOU MUST GO! The decor for Lunar New Year was an extra special treat! We enjoyed every item brought to the table! You can't go wrong with any of the dumplings and the scallop entree on the specials was one of the best Chinese dishes I've ever had! Service was over the top! And the pricing for a fantastic NYC meal was very reasonable. I would go back again tonight if we didn't have plans! RedFarm is now on my list of must do's when in the city!

Food is good and for the most part the staff and service is excellent. However, there is an older gentleman who works behind the bar who attempted to make me feel uncomfortable and awkward. He didn't succeed, only because I'm used to this stupid line of questioning. I'm a woman who likes to eat alone, sit quietly and enjoy the solitude. The bartender in question asked me "how are you?" In which I said "good." He then proceeded to ask me with a look of pity if "I was ok?" In which I did not answer him. Thank god there were two other bartenders working and the other two continued to deliver my food and refill my wine. They were absolutely lovely and professional. I thought I was in the clear until the older gentleman made an attempt to joke around with me and asked me if "I was going bar hopping after this?" Laughing at his own stupid joke. Again, an attempt to make me feel awkward and at the same time making fun of me. If I was a man sitting alone, drinking a martini, would I have gotten the same line of stupid questioning? I'm surprised he didn't tell me to smile.
Fresh and delicious food and great service
Delicious food and great service. We sat at the bar as we were not able to get a reservation for inside. The space is warm and lively. The food is fresh and delicious with quality ingredients without glutinous sauces. We had shrimp with cashews and vegetables and pork and shrimp dumplings. Both dishes were wonderful. The place is expensive so that’s the only down side. The shrimp dish did not come with rice but we were glad in the end. It’s located near the Beacon Theater if you are looking for a great place to go.
Great food!
Great food, lively atmosphere! I have dined at Red Farm several times, and it is always always a great experience. Service is excellent!
Food is good but don't get delivery.
They do not seal their bags for delivery -neither for safety nor temperature. Food is cold and i can't help wondering if anything happened to the food between their kitchen and my apt!

RedFarm continues to be my #1 recommended restaurant to friends and family. Aisha and Dale make it feel like home! The food and cocktails are always made to perfection. The entire staff makes me feel welcome, and I always meet interesting people while enjoying a meal by myself at the bar.
Excellent in Every Aspect
Two couples. We were staying at a hotel across the street and the staff recommended the Red Farm without mentioning that it was Chinese cuisine. Not a problem as we all like Chinese - just a surprise. In any event our meals were all excellent. I particularly liked everything with duck as an ingredient. Our server knew his business, and made excellent recommendations. Prices were not cheap, but reasonable given the quality (and quantity) of the food, and the fact that it's in NYC. It was on the noisy side.
My favorite restaurant to take guests.
Never disappoints. A must: pastrami egg rolls!!

Delicious Peking duck!! The skin is very crispy and the pancakes were light and flavorful. We also had the shrimp fried rice which was very good, but maybe overpriced. The duck was really worth it though! The drinks were tasty and interesting.

Had an amazing meal at Red Farm while visiting the fam in Manhattan! Service was good to boot. So much so that when my dad left his phone there by accident they tracked us down (through my reservation) and stayed open to wait for my dad to pick it up that night!! Will definitely stop back in when I visit NYC again!
Fantastic!
This is our favorite Dim Sum place. The food is always great as is the service. I would definitely recommend it.
We will not return
While the food was "pretty good" by all accounts, our group of five was less than pleased with unprofessional and haphazard waiter service or by the fact that our various orders all seemed to arrive from the kitchen at different times and the waiters were clueless and couldn't remember who had ordered what. We also found the prices to be outrageous for the typical Asian fare that was being offered, and portions that were quite small. It was not a good value and not a particularly good experience, and we don't recommend this restaurant. We will not return, There are SO MANY other options in this neighborhood.
5 star food and service
the food and service were excellent! The waitress gave us good recommendations for portions and we loved our dishes. I recommend the duck lettuce wrap with bbq sauce!
FIVE STAR PLUS FOOD & ATMOSPHERE!!
Once you entered the restaurant , you felt the most exhilaration energy and atmosphere! Staff were , witty , polite , friendly and so happy ! I don’t know if there are family members working there , their team was exceptional , professional and pleasant experience ! The restaurant was absolutely packed , yet staff were so efficient , services was excellent and Food was omg absolutely Fabulous ! Presentation , portions , taste all a mouth watering experience . Having travelled internationally, even in Asia is was some of the best authentic food I have eating ! Attaching photos ! This is definitely a place to visit and also try their cocktails , also delicious ! This is a place to visit when in NY , an exceptional Five Star Experience all round .
Unexpectedly Delightful
Visited on a hotel recommendation without any view as to standard. It was welcoming, humming and relaxing. The staff explained the sharing options and the menu and tasters of wines ensured we had a drink which we each liked. The food was inventive and delicious. A delight

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.

Reservations could be posted for a variety of reasons. Most likely, the person who secured the reservation can no longer attend - to avoid accruing a "no show" fee, they can find someone to take their place.
