Fantastic perfectly cooked food with a wow factor in flavor in all the many dishes we ordered. Top notch service too. One if the best restaurants in NYC. Mean that! We can't wait to come back. Still thinking about the crispy spicy beef, crab and duck "dumplings" and BBQ beef fried rice.
Be the first to ReplyThis review is from a visit back in mid December 2023.
We planned our day specifically to end it here and were very happy with that choice. Between the five of us, we ordered a crazy amount of food so while I cannot remember exactly what we ordered, I can say, you really cannot go wrong. It was like 30 minutes to closing time and everything was still delicious. Dumplings and Noodles were the right amount of chewy, all veggies were delicious, everything was tasty! Drinks were also very good! The real winner though was the service. It felt like you were just at a friend's home and that really took the entire experience over the top! Highly recommend!

Food is good and for the most part the staff and service is excellent. However, there is an older gentleman who works behind the bar who attempted to make me feel uncomfortable and awkward. He didn't succeed, only because I'm used to this stupid line of questioning. I'm a woman who likes to eat alone, sit quietly and enjoy the solitude. The bartender in question asked me "how are you?" In which I said "good." He then proceeded to ask me with a look of pity if "I was ok?" In which I did not answer him. Thank god there were two other bartenders working and the other two continued to deliver my food and refill my wine. They were absolutely lovely and professional. I thought I was in the clear until the older gentleman made an attempt to joke around with me and asked me if "I was going bar hopping after this?" Laughing at his own stupid joke. Again, an attempt to make me feel awkward and at the same time making fun of me. If I was a man sitting alone, drinking a martini, would I have gotten the same line of stupid questioning? I'm surprised he didn't tell me to smile.

YOU MUST GO! The decor for Lunar New Year was an extra special treat! We enjoyed every item brought to the table! You can't go wrong with any of the dumplings and the scallop entree on the specials was one of the best Chinese dishes I've ever had! Service was over the top! And the pricing for a fantastic NYC meal was very reasonable. I would go back again tonight if we didn't have plans! RedFarm is now on my list of must do's when in the city!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good but don't get delivery.
They do not seal their bags for delivery -neither for safety nor temperature. Food is cold and i can't help wondering if anything happened to the food between their kitchen and my apt!

RedFarm continues to be my #1 recommended restaurant to friends and family. Aisha and Dale make it feel like home! The food and cocktails are always made to perfection. The entire staff makes me feel welcome, and I always meet interesting people while enjoying a meal by myself at the bar.

Delicious Peking duck!! The skin is very crispy and the pancakes were light and flavorful. We also had the shrimp fried rice which was very good, but maybe overpriced. The duck was really worth it though! The drinks were tasty and interesting.

Had an amazing meal at Red Farm while visiting the fam in Manhattan! Service was good to boot. So much so that when my dad left his phone there by accident they tracked us down (through my reservation) and stayed open to wait for my dad to pick it up that night!! Will definitely stop back in when I visit NYC again!
Be the first to ReplyThis place was amazing both warm and cozy.

Excellent dumplings. Drinks are also excellent. I had the shrimp/truffle dumplings! I will definitely get them again. I was able to get right in as a single at the bar. Wait for this establishment is long.

Hey - if you want to spend $400 on dumplings and then be told you need to leave because they only allow an hour and a half for your table (which was not disclosed upfront) & "the guy waiting for your table is hangry" - this is your spot -also direct quote from manager when we left - " have a nice life " Ya think - umm ok dude - goodbye P.S. I was forced to give this one star, but I really would give it zero

I was so disappointed I was disappointed because for many years this restaurant was fantastic Maybe they have a new chef?Anyway, it went downhill Sad to say
Be the first to ReplyNot great, not terrible.
I had the chicken wraps. For this price point, I'd rather go to Philippe or Shun Lee.

The best Chinese restaurant in town! I celebrated my birthday here and the server was very kind and nice. I highly recommend to try their fried rice.
Be the first to ReplyFood was really good, dumplings were a highlight.
We had a dud of a waiter but absolutely everyone else couldn't have been nicer. The manager more than made up for our waiter's lack of people skills. I mean the guy laughed when he asked to take our drink order and we just asked for water. He couldn't answer one question about how or if certain dishes could be made gluten free. He was the worst communicator I've ever dealt with in a restaurant. But I would return for those dumplings!
Be the first to ReplyNOTHING!! The food was exquisite.
Service excellent. Very attentive. Waiters very knowledgeable re food and ingredients. Loved the ambiance. We are visiting from Houston TX. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service.
Recommend restaurant before going to The Beacon Theatre. Recommend the chicken wrap and spring rolls.

We reserved a table AND a duck for the 3 of us , a week in advance, for our traditional New Year's Eve family Peking Duck dinner (early since we'll be in Tennessee all next week). We were inspired to try after stumbling upon the chef's duck preparation on YouTube. It was bitter cold this particular evening (15 degrees) & the room was periodically filled with cold blasts. The waitstaff were smiling & attentive throughout the evening. The hostess asked if we'd like to move further in if a table cleared. Very thoughtful but we declined. So...we'd preordered the duck (strongly recommended if that's why you're going) along with the string beans with Brussels fried garlic & ginger and the vegetable spring rolls. The vegetable dish arrived first. Nicely browned. Perfectly cooked, a bit of crunch & delicious. The spring rolls followed and were golden brown, crispy & flavorful but we didn't find the accompanying sauce very complimentary. The spring rolls stood up quite well alone though. A few moments later the duck was presented with thin fresh pancakes the typical thinly sliced cucumbers & scallions and 3 sauces (hoisin, peanut & sesame and cranberry). Ultimately we ALL favored the traditional hoisin as it just pairs better than anything else. The duck flesh was juicy & succulent. The skin nice & crispy. The chefs also centered the plate with many pulled chunks of delicious dark meat under the crispy skin cover. We ordered a key lime pie with lemon sorbet to share for dessert which was simply outstanding and a nice finish to a very good meal. We've had Peking duck throughout Hong Kong, Beijing and NYC Chinatown. Red Farm was a fine example. However, the $115 price tag is a tough pill to swallow. We normally have our New Year's Eve Peking duck at Ping's Seafood in Chinatown. Ping's whole duck is executed exceptionally as well...but comes in at $78. I'd encourage a visit to Red Farm, but I'll likely go to Ping's to satisfy our annual duck tradition.
