Over-rated, service very poor.
Over-rated. Service very poor. Went there for dinner and while the food was good I thought the service was sub-par. We had to ask a couple of times for tap water, the wine bottle and the waiters cleared the plates while people were not done with their meals. That was very rude.

We took our daughter and her family to this restaurant. It has a very interesting menu and everyone loved their entrees. Unfortunately the portion size for the entrees were not satisfactory for the men in our group and they are not real big eaters. We sat upstairs at a fun table with a banquette and lovely pillows. The waiter was great and the music was energetic and fun.
Be the first to ReplyUnique, Beautiful, Delicious
This place is an absolute MUST go in DC! The food combines absolutely delicious unique flavors and a beautiful presentation. They decorate for every season and it was stunning during the cherry blossom season! The espresso martini was the best I ever had along with many other gorgeous carefully crafted cocktails. We had the burrata which had a combo of flavors I’ve never tasted before , out of this world. The octopus and gnocchi were also insanely delicious. Definitely make a reservation during your trip to DC! (There is sidewalk booth seating but only book that if you know the weather will be nice otherwise you’ll freeze). All other seating is gorgeous! Book the heated covered patio if you can for the best decor.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn Washington, D.C./White House for one night in early September. After checking in, wanted to head somewhere within walking distance for a cocktail and appetizer before meeting a friend for a late dinner. Searched outdoor cafes and found Residents. Exactly what I was looking for. Was seated at an outdoor booth. Ordered a delicious espresso martini and mini gyros appetizer. Service, food, atmosphere - all perfect. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyLovely evening at Residents DC!
Met family for dinner during a work trip tomDC and was pleasantly surprised. This instagrammable restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is amazing. Everything was delicious and we left full and happy. Cant wait to return soon!
Be the first to ReplyLovely outdoors, booming bass disco music, pretty good food
Upstairs indoor warning for noise pollution sufferers. Booming bass disco music seems so inappropriate for lunch/brunch. Get a new playlist. Maybe bossa nova covers for lunch... Note that 20% service fee which also adds into 10% DC tax. So if you order $50 of food/drinks - adds $10 service and $6 DC tax = $66. Food is pretty good, not rave worthy. Hostesses and service seemed quite good and gentile. Best for sunny fall or spring day outdoor seating only IMO.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Outdoor Brunch
Excellent brunch outdoors! Setting was garden-like, covered, with greens everywhere. Food was thoroughly enjoyably tasty. We started with the French toast bites, cubes of French toast with an accompanying sweet and salty sauce, both of which were delicious. Dishes we enjoyed were a fish burger with great add-ons and a nice salad with delish dressing; a quinoa bowl with avocado hummus, salad, squash fritters (like falafel), and your choice of extras (we had smoked salmon), which was excellent; a smoked salmon on pita that looked like a flatbread, with a couple fried eggs on top as an extra, also delish. The cocktails were tasty, and the Basque cheesecake was a great ending. Only the capuccino was just "good" or "fine." Service was attentive but not intrusive, and very helpful and nice. All around, well you see the mark I gave it. Enjoy! I hope to go back.
Be the first to ReplyGood restaurant, great cocktails, bad reservation policy
Very nice place, however they place a massive hold on your credit card when you make a reservation in case of cancellation too late for their tastes.
To be honest I find this practice very anti consumer.
Unique and lovely setting!
We loved it here! Staff was friendly and food was good. My risotto was superb! Very good cocktails. Ambiance was our favorite of our trip!
Be the first to ReplyBEST Restaurant in DC
Residents has got to be the diamond of DC restaurants/bars!
Was in DC visiting a friend. Checked out several local restaurants/bars in the area during my stay. Residents ended at the very top of my list. I would go back to visit just to check out their next food/cocktail menus (they have seasonal menus).
Food & Beverage:
We ordered the Crab Croquets as appetizers (amazing!) and for entrée, I tried the Pesto Pasta. I added the sesame crusted Amish chicken from the Schnitzel Plate; it did not disappoint!
For drinks I tried: The Bee (delicious!), the Rhubarb (even better!), and the Cherry & Vanilla (it was okay; didn't enjoy it as much as the first two).
Service:
It is so very refreshing to be a first time guest at a venue and have your server actually know what they are talking about! Ours was Mehdi. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and had great suggestions. My friend and I have very opposite tastes and Mehdi was able to give us both spot on options.
Manager on staff that day was Marco. Like Mehdi, very service oriented and attentive to every guest that arrived.
Ambience:
I was in DC in April, which is the end of the Cherry Blossom season in DC. The outdoor area was decorated in cherry blossoms from top to bottom. Made for some very beautiful brunch/ early sunset pictures.
The outdoor music was definitely a vibe (not live music). Not at all distracting or overly loud. Went perfectly with the ambience.
Can't say enough good things about this place!
Delicious food. Great service. Awesome neighborhood vibe
I've been to Residents a couple of times already. It's a neighborhood place with great food and service. The vibe of the place, the music, the energy is great. The drinks are excellent. The place is busy so plan / reserve.
Be the first to ReplyWinter wonderland
Wow! Who knew?!? So glad my friend introduced me to this place. You feel like you're in a winter wonderland - the outdoor space is so lovely and comfortable - you forget it is COVID friendly.
#1 - proper cocktails - happy with all ordered
#2 - amazing staff (the accents don't hurt)
#3 - food was DE-LISH. Favs were Brussels, octopus (charred but not burnt and grilled to perfection - still juicy), mini gyros and mushroom risotto
#4 - ambience was so welcoming, comfy, warm and inviting. Thank God you aren't IN the street trying to pretend you aren't.
Will definitely be back and highly recommend!
Wonderful experience
If you're looking for atmosphere, this is it. EXCELLENT food, really top notch. The cocktail list has something for everyone with a lot of variety. Shoutout to chef boyy Naterino.
