The service here was amazing and food was both delicious
The service here was amazing and food was both delicious and creative. I am vegetarian/pescatarian and they accommodated that on the pre-fixe quite nicely. Incredibly quiet restaurant with a lovely ambiance as soon as we walked in the door!

Reservations are essential. Our party of 2 had the 4 course menu which allowed for some choices and it was excellent. There is also an a la crate menu. The amuse bouche of foie gras mousse was yummy, the fish course excellent with a beautiful presentation, the bread was some of the best we had on our 10 day France trip. This was one of our best meals of our France trip. My only complaint was that the kitchen was a little slow and there was a very long lag between our fish and main course. But I would highly recommend this restaurant.

When people ask me where I had my best meal in the world this is one of my top three! Perfect service, intimate surroundings, and excellent presentations. We ordered the chef's choices and were not disappointed with any of the five courses. Be prepared for a long leisurely, pampered evening and it is worth the time and money. A special place.

We were lucky enough to come to 1-Michelin Star Restaurant Gavroche for dinner, after the Strasbourg Christmas Market & it was a lovely touch to a lovely day at the FairLetting them know ahead of time that we were vegetarian, they were more than amenable to our dietary restrictions.....and lucky for us it was also Truffle Season!Starting with a lovely rose champagne, we were off to a dining delight* Amuse Bouche of sauteed mushrooms in sesame oil* Cauliflower soup with black truffle* Linguine with marscapone cream and black truffle - they certainly did not skimp on the truffle - it was incredible & my favorite of the meal!* Cheese course - this was huge and we could have easily shared one* Intermezzo of custard with passion fruit* The dessert kind of lost me - vanilla ice cream with chocolate and black truffle shavings. I guess I was hoping for the truffle to have been infused into the ice cream, as I have experienced at Millennium Restaurant in San Francisco. With the truffle and chocolate shaved onto the ice cream, it provided for a more bland experience* Post-dessert tray was all kinds of delicious - madeleines and chocolates! This is a very small restaurant so be sure to make reservations as early as you can because they were totally booked & it's totally worth it!!TOTAL2 people3 hours7 courses2 champagnes, 1 small bottle wine€ 320 including tip

Excellent high-end cuisine, romantic, five minutes walk from CathedralPricey but worth it. Smallish restaurant (1 Michelin star) only 5-10 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Atmosphere is modern w lots of dark wood. We took the prix fixe 3 course at €50. Amuse Bouche was tiny puffballs of seafood. Started w a gorgeous foie gras dish on a bed of julienned green apples with caramalized peanuts. We'd like to try that one at home. Was fantastic. Stuffed quail followed.... I'd sell one of my kids to learn how he does the sauce. Cheese plate was very, very good. Was greedy enough to have a Chocolat Noir for dessert. Along with a couple of glasses of Cremant, a bottle of Alsatian Pinot Gris, a dessert wine, and a round of coffees we managed to hit €185. Could have kept the bill lower without all the extras.Anyway, fantastic cooking here and we can't wait to return. Just brilliant.

We have lived in strasbourg for about 6 months and went here for the first time last night. This is by far the best meal we have had since living here. A very small and intimate dining room. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything we had was incredible. I had a monkfish carpaccio followed by pepper crusted lamb which was unreal! The cheese plate for dessert was perfect with 16 different cheeses to sample from mild to strong. We will certainly return here!

Of all the meals during our two weeks in France, Germany, Belgium and the UK, lunch at Le Gavroche was far and away the best and most memorable. From the walk just outside of central Strasbourg into a pretty residential area with small quiet streets, the entire experience is wonderful. The owner/host is incredibly friendly and welcoming, like you would expect in a small neighborhood restaurant - but the entire inside is a beautiful, modern masterpiece. The roast duck actually brought my girlfriend to tears, reminding her of her grandmother's favorite dish. After the meal, we chatted for a while with the owner again, whose husband works the kitchen, and whose son and granddaughter said hi as they were walking outside. I love restaurants that have exceptional food but don't lose touch with the intimate experience that makes you feel welcome and wanting to return.

Gourmet French food with local products, amazing quality, creative combinations and reasonable prices. The wine list is amazing and Mme Fuchs will give you the best tips, she is so knowledgeable...Good and attentive service. This place is a must. I go there every time I'm in Strasbourg. But as every hidden gem there is a price: you need to make reservation a couple of weeks in advance...Enjoy!
