🤮 1/5 - Bland tourist trap

We were very excited about Rosetta. The service, the ambiance and the neighborhood are beautiful. However, the food here is extraordinarily bland. Every single dish had a very singular taste and the taste was uninspired and boring. It is clear that this restaurant caters to tourists but the food quality is just really elementary. We are American ourselves but we live in California and are used to a very high quality of food. I understand catering to tourists but this basically tasted like a crappy American chain restaurant. Perhaps we should have known since we were the only non-white diners in the entire restaurant.
We ordered at least half the menu including popular items such as the short rib. Even that dish fell short, pun intended. After each dish we contemplated just stopping and asking for the bill but instead we thought to give Rosetta a chance until the end and we wasted our money.
Leaving completely unsatisfied we walked down the street to taqueria Alvaro. The al pastor tacos here had more flavor than all of the dishes at Rosetta combined. I don't like to write negative reviews for restaurants but I really wish I was warned about this place. Rosetta is the quintessential tourist trap.
