Great view to match great food!
Romantic ambience yet intimate, with warm lighting and tables well apart. Excellent value(S$158++) for 5-course set menu, not including amuse-bouches and extra desserts. Starters included seared prawns, crab meat, red mullet with bouillabaisse. Two meat dishes included lamb and Iberico pork beautifully cooked and ‘smoked’ with herbs. Best chestnut Mont Blanc dessert too!

Be the first to ReplyOne of 3 French Restaurants in Singapore
Finally Singapore has another true French restaurant - Riviéra. There are now only 3 true French restaurants in Singapore: Dame De Pique, Alain Ducasse, and now Riviéra. The others are a laughable waste of time. Just because your name is French doesn’t mean you can cook French. The Chef at Riviéra has truly harnesses what it is to be Riviéra. The cuisine is French Provençal and is extremely authentic to his roots from Montélimar. It is a culinary journey through the eyes of this Chef. Where products takes centre stage. Produce and meat is sourced from only the best and that means Japan, and Europe not tasteless material from Australia, U.S., or U.K. The attention to detail in terms of sourcing the produce and meats adds to the exquisiteness of the dishes. Nothing is spared in terms of coupling fine taste with fragrance that which can only be obtained from materials sources around the Meditteranean basin and thus makes his journey one worthwhile taking. True to French culinary expectations sauces are prevalent and serve to enhance the flavour and fragrance but DO NOT overpower or subdue the dish as that is the sign of a mediocre chef. The sommelier only couples the dishes with equally superb wines sourced from France the quintessential top mark for wine. There is no new age wines here and especially Australian or American - these are best served to clean one’s socks at best even their top brands are not palatable for a refined palate. The wines are impeccably chosen to bring out the fragrance and texture of each dish. There is no compromise by this chef or sommelier. The staff is well versed on every dish. They are well educated but not pretentious as other restaurants would be. They instruct, and provide a light banter between each dish. As one server put it: It is a pleasure working here. There is no better testament than this; where the staff is honoured to be working at the establishment and servicing its clientele. And it shows. They aren’t there to simply pick up a paycheque. If you live or visit Singapore, you would be amiss not to pay this restaurant a visit.
