I lost my glasses so couldn't see well. It was difficult to see well. The front staff, not all acted like I was bugging them. The room was nice but the cabinet holding the fridge is too small. A lot of action out front in the parking lot. It is a nice building.
Be the first to Reply10/ 10 for Palate Restaurant
My friends and I had Sunday Brunch at Palate Restaurant and the experience was amazing from start to finish. The restaurant staff were professional and engaging. Big up to Richard!!! The food was so so good and the variety unmatched. The chef that prepared the food and presented it to us was amazing tooโฆ such a nice touch. The ambiance was stunning as the restaurant overlooks the Caribbean sea. Overall I highly recommend Palate for a large group. We will definitely be going back.

Sean and Oshin were awesome to me and very patient. I feel like crying leaving because I feel already at home! Thank you ROK and Jamaica for inviting me.

Ricardo has been a good waitress (Bartender) 100% good effort to give us our request. Has been really communicative always serving with a smile, will recommend his services to anybody to comes to ROK Hotel. Appreciate the time spent in the bar every night

I am a repeat customer at this establishment. It never fails to impress. From check-in all the way through check out it has been amazing. The employees that made my stay exceptional were Oshin at the front desk,Christina in housekeeping and Wuzardo. As they went above and beyond and assisted at every opportunity. Highly recommend the hotel.

We spent 2 nights here before going to Ocho Rios. My observations: Only one lift operational and unable to use the stairs to get to the 3rd floor..you could only go down if you wished. Comfortable beds & pillows Breakfast buffet at 21 USD per person was disappointing: no fresh vegetables such as tomatoes and cucumbers, lettuce etc. No pancakes/waffles for kids Fresh melons available but not replenished frequently enough The water had strange smell and taste to it but the coffee was good. Nice area around the pool but the water was murky and uninvitingโฆ kids didnโt seem to mind it though. Would be great if there were more umbrellas available. Nice ice coffee available from the ground floor cafe.
Be the first to ReplyA true gem of a hotel.
Wow!!!! Wow!!! From my arrival to the entire weekend, the service was impeccable. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well run. The food is AMAZING and delicious. There was never a bad experience. Breakfast is truly Jamaican and had a twist of all American. I was in Kingston to say goodbye to my mother after her passing. The team truly made me feel special and cared for. Ordane at the Bar was truly supportive and caring. He listened to my woes and empathized. Sean at the Front desk was a Rock Star at check in and during my stay. He was very anticipative. Michelle at the Bar was my HERO. Morgan, the Hostess was very friendly, hospitable and just a pleasure to speak with. She is very knowledgeable of the hotel and the offerings. Sadreika at breakfast was so sweet and caring. She took care of me and made me feel special. A special thanks to the welcome attendant/door man for helping me find a place for some true Jamaican patties. Yum!!! I sincerely appreciate you and what you did for me. In closing, this is a true gem of a hotel with truly hospitable staff. Well done ROK leadershipโฆ..you are doing a great job leading this team.

I chose this hotel after both of my preferred hotels in New Kingston were fully booked. I didnโt know what to expect as I had been to this area previously but I donโt believe this hotel was there. Iโd seen a number of reviews on YouTube but wasnโt impressed by the black bathroom fittings. I booked regardless as itโs just a bathroom. My cousin collected me from the airport and it was a short journey (about 15-20 minutes) to the hotel. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and surprisingly given an upgrade. I was shocked and resisted the urge to hug the receptionist. I had booked a king room (the Queen rooms were sold out) and got upgraded to a king bedroom suite with ocean view on the 8th floor Room 816. As soon as i opened the door I was hit by imposter syndrome and felt that I didnโt deserve such a lovely room. To the left of the room is a small kitchenette area with a coffee machine (which you can use like a kettle for just hot water), there is a mini fridge with 2 complementary bottles of water which are replenished daily. There is a small dining table and a living area with a sofa and large flat screen tv. There isnโt a microwave but you can use one on the ground floor. The separate bedroom was to the left with an en-suite bathroom. I couldnโt see the ocean view until the following morning as I arrived around 8pm. The view next morning was stunning and I spent around 10 minutes just staring at it because Iโm from grey dreary London. With regards to the black bathroom, it really wasnโt as bad as I expected and it works quite well. The bathroom was spotless and the usual amenities were provided so you do not need to bring shower gel and body lotion. The suite came with a digital safe which was raised a little high up and also an iron & board. I had a little issue with the AC being too cold for me but the maintenance man sorted it within 60 seconds. The hotel has a nice gym which I used twice. Water and towels are provided. I didnโt pay for breakfast in my rate but decided to try it on my first morning. I didnโt find the options as varied as I would have like but thatโs entirely down to my picky preferences. I ended up paying about 25US? for a bowl of chopped fruit and some ripe plantain. I think if you eat normally you will find lots to eat. I ordered the fish cakes/balls one evening and they were delicious. I also tried the tuna wrap on my first evening from the ground floor cafe which was nice. There are so many places within walking distance that you can buy food from. There is a building nearby ( I think itโs called the digicel building) which has a small food court including an Island Grill and a cafe. There is also a street vendor selling fruits about 5 minutes away (heโll chop it up for you) where I bought my breakfast from. It cost around 600JA$. The hotel is near Coronation market where you can buy most things and you are also near the Kingston cultural centre which you can see the impressive street art/murals. I used local taxis during my stay (Gadge taxi Pro Kingston) who are really well priced and efficient. They operate via whatโs app so you donโt have to use your data. This is a lovely hotel which I highly recommend. The high level of customer service is apparent in this hotel from the receptionists to the room attendants. I will be back, upgrade or no upgrade.

Be the first to ReplyTravel Agent Review- Gorgeous & Very Nice New Modern Hotel Downtown
Wow! This hotel was modern, new and gorgeous, 5 star everything in my opinion! The room and hotel in general was decorated in such good taste with beautiful, unique and eclectic art & decor. The front desk staff provided amazing service always. The upper pool deck and bar were gorgeous and the staff were very attentive but I will warn you the drinks are not cheap. I had a hummingbird cocktail and my partner had a double rum on the rocks and it came to $45 USD! I have been to Kingston many times but in this area it was my first time. The area the hotel is in is right across the street from the sea walk and there were some restaurants and bars there and an ice cream shop but apart from that the surrounding area was a ghost town and not much to do (or maybe I didn't spend the time to explore it more). We did find a very cute and excellent breakfast/coffee shop about a 10 minute walk away called Danya's Coffee Barrel and I would have been there everyday if I stayed longer then 2 nights. Excellent stay overall!

Be the first to ReplyJoel at the bar!
The hotel staff was amazing the upstairs rooftop bar was amazing as well including one of the bartenders Joel who catered to all of our drink and food order needs, as well having a sense of humor. The hotel has exceeded our expectations! Love the vibe theyโve set in Kingston
Be the first to ReplyGreat location!
Ideally located in a quiet part of Kingston with the seafront over the road. Banks with ATMs very close by. Excellent, competent staff. Quiet, with a swimming pool and inside/outside dining area. Rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed and in our case with a sea view. The cost of meals is more expensive than we would have liked but I imagine normal for a business hotel. It was a good place to relax after arriving in Jamaica and is within an easy walk and bus ride to the Bob Marley Museum, or a taxi ride if you prefer. We walked a lot around downtown Kingston and felt very safe. No hassle, only friendly "welcome to Jamaica" greetings..
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and even better drinks
Great atmosphere! I went here for drinks with friends and it was amazing. The hotel was beautiful and our bartender, Ricardo the โCocktail Chemistโ, made the most delicious drinks. A must see when visiting Jamaica!

Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel by the Kingston waterfront!
I *loved* this hotel! Who knew, a 5-star experience right on the waterfront in downtown Kingston! I went for New Years 2023 and watched the fireworks over the harbor for which ROK hotel is a PERFECT location. Everything was top-notch and I had a great time. The hotel is a short walk from the "Coronation Market" area of Kingston, which makes for an interesting experience. I enjoyed walking up and shopping there in the crazy-busy open-air marketplace. We have nothing like that in the US. Also the proximity of this 5-star hotel to the slums of Kingston makes for some interesting .... umm ... possibilities. Anyway I enjoyed my stay and recommend this hotel.

I and a work had lunch at the Palate restaurant today. Apart from the temperature being a bit on the chilly side, we had an excellent dining experience. Phillisha our server was superb! Onr could say our dishes were suitable for our "palates"
