We love to come here when family is in town, even though it can be crowded and a long wait; the crepes are delicious and most can be made vegan, and all the savoury crêpes are gluten-free. They produce both all the traditional flavours and many imaginative combinations that can be customised.

- Staff is friendly,- It occasionally takes a while to get food on the table, but it's fine most of the time,- The food is nice, with many options for vegetarians and vegans,- A tad pricey, but it's so good you forget about this,- Feels like you're in France, great experience,- Would I bring a date here ? Yes, definitely,- Would I go there on a regular basis ? Yes, no doubt,- Overall, a very nice place you should try at least once.

I had never tried a savoury crepe and was so pleasantly surprised by all the variations and options! It was delicious and great for gluten free.

We came here on a Saturday morning, having done some research on this crêperie before our trip. We were looking for a nice place for lunch in one of the laneway restaurants before our walking tour, and we were not disappointed. Luckily for us, there was no one in line when we stepped up and we were seated after a few minutes. I say luckily because after we sat down there was quite a line as this place is definitely cozy and doesn't have a lot of tables. I would definitely recommend the outdoor seating if it's a warm day. We were in the shade and it was nice and comfortable. My wife ordered the cherry pesto galette, and I ordered a crêpe with strawberries, nutella, with the ice cream add-on. If you're eating with someone else, I definitely recommend one person getting a savory crêpe and the other person getting a sweet one because then you can try each others, which is what we did. The food was amazing. It was a good portion and tasted great. The last thing I'll say, and this is more of an observation than a critique, is that you shouldn't expect to rush in and out if you choose to eat here. As I said, it is a small establishment, with a small kitchen, so you may need to wait a while before your food comes. So if you are in a rush this is probably not the place for you. But if you want wonderful food in a leisurely environment this is definitely a place to try!

One of the best moments in my entire Melbourne's trip is finding little cafe that completely took my breath away. Especially when it's located in the famous Flinders Lane - A place dedicated to street eats, bars, cafes, funky street arts and tourists. Amongst the hustle and bustled, there is Roule Gallete, hidden in plain sight and snug in Scott Alley. A bit of navigating needed, but I promise... Wander inside and you will be rewarded with something that will pamper your palate and senses. I ventured for their Riviera ($12) - home made salted caramel, almond and vanilla ice cream. The feather-light crepes just melts in the mouth and the salted caramel had a good balance of sweet and savory. Altogether it was just fantastically rich in flavor. Definitely one of the best crepes I've ever had! Just like many quintessential French cafe, it has traditional intimate interior and outdoor sidewalk seating (best way to enjoy the ambiance). And to complete the experience, they got French music playing in the background and French staff, speaking with a strong French accent... OH La la!! In all, I had a lovely dining experience at Roule Gallette! The French crepe is simply divine! And even though the cafe is perfectly petite, it carries such a character that puts a smile on my face :).

I am conflicted as the crepes are incredible here, with generous toppings and reasonable pricing, however, the service is awful. It first took a ridiculous amount of time to take our order, then I was given a burnt coffee -- and not just mildly burnt, but the taste of charcoal scraped from the bottom of a grill. Upon asking for a replacement and being happy to wait to have it redone, the second coffee was also burnt, but the crêperie managed to beat its own record. Waitress also seemed peeved that I had asked politely to change over my coffee despite being happy with everything else.

Love that as a celiac I can have GF crepe. Tres bon!
Be the first to ReplyWe went to this place for brunch.
We had tiger roar and la gourmande. Both were on the sweeter side, but enjoyable and not too sweet. For beverages we had latte and piccolo (small sized latte). They accidentally missed almonds in the tiger roar and gave piccolo for free to compensate, which was very generous. The entire staff was very hospitable.
Be the first to ReplyGreat crepe thin and crispy.
It was light to the end! But I went for the goat cheese with prosciutto and pesto $18. They were generous with the cheese but it was too many salty things. Probably better to get one of the less intense combinations so they don't overwhelm the crepe. This is a little hole in the wall place with sweet and savoury options. I would come back to try the others.

Oh. My. Goodness! One of my favorite places to eat in the entire world is Little Briezh on the Left Bank on Paris. When we walked in and sat down, I could have sworn we were in Paris, with the comfortable casual atmosphere and all of the staff speaking French and dancing to French music! But wait, this is about the food. Ah. The food! The buckwheat crepes were deliciously prepared right in front of us. I had the Complete, with egg, cheese, ham, mushrooms, and truffle oil. It was absolutely wonderful, and topped off with a French cider that was nicely dry and delicious. D had a cheese crepe that was as wonderful as mine. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere lively! A wonderful culinary experience!
Be the first to ReplyStumbled across this place in a way to a laneway bar.
.. I didn't know existed and apparently has been around for awhile. Very quaint and frenchie with French staff. Serves fantastic savoury and sweet crepes! Tucked away in a side ally off flinders lanes. Cosy, chick creperie. Tried the sausage and the potatoe crepes. Both fantastic. Reminiscing my back packing days through France and time spent in Paris... will be back to try others and to just chill.

I really enjoyed this little French place tucked away on a side street in the CBD in Melbourne. They had an excellent menu and attentive service. My wine and crepe were delicious. Also, real French speaking people work here, which I found to be so charming! Maybe it's family run? It was excellent, very busy, and I highly recommend it.
