Came here for a happy-hour with some friends on a Saturday
Came here for a happy-hour with some friends on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised to see the number of games/ things to do. More specifically, there's a couple of ping-pong tables upstairs along with a wide range of games . While we made a reservation in advance, the place was mostly empty. In terms of food, I'd recommend the nachos along with a wide selection of cocktails

.. first we ordered an appetizer and drinks and the one thing we got was the drinks... We ordered dinner ( ribs, roasted chicken or chicken sandwich) and asked about my entree (roasted chicken) and never got an answer... so finally all together our food comes out including the appetizer and so disappointed!!! The coleslaw tasted like red cabbage and Mayo, the nachos tasted like cheez wiz and leftover meat, the French fries were supposed to be rosemary and I think they left the rosemary somewhere. I got a chicken sandwich which was drowned in Ranch dressing! My husband said the ribs were good.... For NY this def missed the mark 1000%. I could have gotten a better meal at McDonalds and saved my $60 to sit in a snow globe.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service.
Food is okay. Nice vibes.I did a reservation for their outdoor igloos to eat at with my boyfriend. It was very cute, with a heater in the igloo to keep warm. Comes with a complementary blanket (nothing crazy, an Ikea thinnish blanket). The reservation I made ahead of time costs $60, which covers food, tax, and tips costs. I went on a Friday and they had a happy hour going on until 7pm I believe, so my boyfriend and I ordered 2 red wines ($9 each glass) - it was pretty good! I ordered a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and my boyfriend ordered a Beef Brisket Sandwich. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was actually a bit spicier than I thought it would be. From low to high spicy, it was a medium level spicy. Super flavorful and tender chicken. The bread for the sandwich was okay, it was a little bit on the drier end. The fries are standard, kind of tastes like McDonald's fries without the extra salt. The Beef Brisket Sandwich was also pretty good too! Just keep in mind that it can be a pretty messy sandwich to eat - as expected of bbq foods. We ended our dinner order the S'mores set which was $20 - definitely overpriced for S'mores, but it was fun for the experience for a special occasion. They had a mini fire to roast the marshmallows in. All in all, I would probably come back again for the Game Room upstairs and for a more casual eat and drink setting rather than for a romantic dinner at the igloo. The igloo experience is more like a one-time cool experience to have.

This was a nice place, but it was definitely lacking in terms of seating, service, and ambiance. We arrived yesterday for our work happy hour and found that they had given our table away. It was a bummer, but shared responsibility since we didn't call ahead to confirm the reservation and we were about 15 minutes late. They also didn't call to see if we were coming either, they just gave the table away. We had to stand for about 30 minutes before another table cleared so we could sit together. Then they had the table ready, but there weren't enough chairs. So people were left standing while our poor host had to run up and down the stairs repeatedly in search of chairs. The move spot they moved us to upstairs near the games smelled horribly like BO. It was super nasty, even with the window open. It wasn't my hypersensitive pregnant nose, but it was smelled by a bunch of my coworkers and it was super off-putting.Food: Nachos and fries were good. For the main, I ordered a fried hot chicken sandwich, which was dry and mostly batter, there was very little chickenOverall service was slow, drinks and food came super slowly. When they got us our beers, the bartenders or servers had mislabeled the beers and half the team received the wrong order. Definitely could've been better and highly do not recommend...though this was the only place that could accommodate a group our size.
Be the first to Replyfood is okay.
don't try to order at the bar because they will ignore you for 20 minutes and then tell you you can only order through your server even if you are paying on your own tab.

***2 1/2 stars***I think the lesson here is that I need to stop visiting these tourist traps on Stone Street, especially for sit-down meals. They're all overpriced (even by the standards of downtown Manhattan), and the food/service is never worth it. All you're getting for the extra money is the opportunity to eat on some cobblestones, which I'm sure I could easily do elsewhere. I stopped by last Friday for lunch around 1PM. It was pretty empty inside (it was a bit bustling outside on the aforementioned cobblestones, so I thought strategically it made sense to go to a quieter area where I'd be more likely to get solid service), and I easily secured a high top table just off the bar area. A positive right off the bat that's worth noting - this is the first time I can remember telling a bartender that I was just getting water in lieu of alcohol, and there was NO discernable change in their demeanor. This is a pet peeve of mine, and I'm glad Route 66 has employees who realize there's little value in looking mildly sad at the loss of a little extra money on the tab.I was pretty hungry, so I went with the Basket of Biscuits ($8) and the Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese ($18). Both were honestly pretty disappointing. The "basket" was a normal plate (why bother including Basket in the name of your dish if you don't intend to use one?) and the biscuits were unfortunately pretty dry/crumbly. I love biscuits from all over the spectrum - my all-time favorite is from Roy Rogers, which looked a lot like these, except the interior was moist and soft and the exterior had a nice crisp to it, but I can get down with super buttery ones like from Popeyes or Bojangles, or really doughy ones like at KFC. These just weren't good, and it's especially disappointing coming from an alleged BBQ place. They had a honey butter-type condiment, which was tough to apply because of the aforementioned texture, and it honestly didn't make much of a difference in terms of taste, which was bland. The Mac and Cheese was also not up to snuff. You can see from the accompanying picture that it's not very visually appealing - the random burnt topping wasn't a good look - and the pasta was a bit undercooked. The cheese was okay, but not great, also in the bland category. Personal palate-wise, I would have preferred smaller pieces of pulled pork and not quite as much, but I'm sure plenty of people are into the big hunks provided generously here. The only reason this isn't a full-on negative review is because of the service. I mentioned the personable bartender, but the service throughout the meal was excellent. As with most of the lunch options in the area, I was pretty much done within 30, 35 minutes from initial entry, which isn't bad. My proximity to the bar probably helped, but it was super easy to hail down the waitress/bartender for ordering, the check, etc. It's not hard to find BBQ restaurants in this area, and this one honestly isn't up to par in most respects. I might stop by a drink in the future, but I doubt it's commit to much beyond that.

Had walked by Route 66 Smokehouse a number of times and finally stopped in on an early Sunday afternoon and had a nice experience. We had the Pulled Pork Platter and the Brisket Sandwich and both were very good with the Pulled Pork probably a bit better. It was relatively quiet when we there and got to play a game of Jenga while we waited for our food. Our server Julia was also very friendly and helpful. Will be back!

I think I'm rating this high because of the ping pong table in the back of the second floor. Fun bar if you wanna pal around over some board games, drinking games or video games. Also, skee ball! One weird thing to look out for.. some games there are free. Some you pay. You might end up paying for a game that's offered for free. Buyer beware.
Be the first to ReplyLazy is a good way to describe this place.
The tables were wobbly, glasses were chipped, service was slow, food was subpar, beer was warm. Everything about this place was mediocre. Not worth the money - go down the street to Ulysses or any other place you can get a seat.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, great quality, friendly staff, large portions.
Definitely have a good time eating here, there is also a game room upstairs. Nice find in the area, will definitely return. Also had a nice drink selection.

Unfortunately this place has steadily gone downhill ever since the pandemic. Used to be a solid choice for bbq, ribs etc. but now just low end fare and booze. Recently had the cheese nachos and pulled pork sandwich. Cheese nachos were an atrocious lukewarm pile of commodity nacho chips drenched in toxic goo "cheese" from a can. Pulled pork sandwich was barely ok. Sad to see this place go downhill so far and so fast. I used to be a regular....
Be the first to ReplyThe overall environment is amazing.
They have a ton of interactive games and an entire floor to hang out play ping pong, arcade games, and other fun activities. It's a fun spot to stop in for on a date night. They also make fantastic drinks! The food wasn't that great, but I will return for the ambiance.

Came here meeting up with a date and the food was just not that good. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It wasn't that flavorful and I didn't care for the bun they used. I didn't eat much of it as I wasn't a fan. It's a bummer because I definitely get a hankering for a good southern pulled pork sammy sometimes, but this wasn't it. My date got a burger and said his food was ok. I don't think it was anything fantastic but he was very hungry so I think he was ready to eat anything at that point. Service was nice and I liked that we were able to rent games. Other than that, it wasn't much to write home about. If anything I'd just come here to drink, skip the food. 3/5

Came here for dinner with a group of 10 and sat in one of their outdoor bubbles. Simply said it was the worst service I've ever received in NYC. Honestly, it was laughably bad to the point we thought we were being pranked. The servers were so rude to us the entire time and we had to go inside 4-5 times to ask for napkins, cutlery, plates, food, drinks, and everything else since they never stopped by our table. The food was also not very good, but that was not the downfall of this place. I am shocked that they are still open and paying rent in a prime spot on Stone Street. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.*end of rant*

Bubble tents :) we loved them! We were super warm and the food was delicious. We started with the mulled cider and hot chocolate. SOOOO GOOD. Then we had the mixed salad with wings as an appetizer. Wings were spicy with good flavor, the salad dressing was delicious. Main course was the brisket sandwich! Meat was soooo tender and the slaw was good! Finished with the brownie that was delicious.

Food was not bad and I actually was enjoying the service up to an extent. Server sat us next to a hoops machine where a pair of loud obnoxious folks (drunk financial district snobs) proceeded to shoot hoops next to our table. The table shook uncontrollably towards the end of our meal. Mind you I had to proceed to ask the server for the check although we had been finished with our food and waiting patiently for him to be stop by the table which he didn't because he was having a side conversation with another employee. To the owner of the establishment reconsider your seating layout.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered the pulled pork sandwich for lunch.
The meat came out cold and that was the worst bbq sauce I've ever had. Fries also were cold. Just a place to hang out for drinks and the area. Not for a bbq lover.
