I've had some very good meals at Rowayton Seafood over the years, but during my most recent experience, I had steamers so sandy that I gave up eating them halfway through. I know that with steamers you have to be prepared to encounter a bit of sand potentially, but this was pretty egregious. They also seemed a bit tough, maybe overcooked. I do think RS is an iconic spot with a great locals scene, but maybe sometimes the food isn't as spot on as it should be. Still, I'd say it is absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Rowayton Seafood has been added to my list of favorite spots for waterfront dining! The views were stunning and the food was equally as delicious. Their hot lobster roll is one of the best I've had, and the same goes for the roasted oysters. We ordered the clam chowder poutine because of how unique it was, and we're so glad we did because we fell in love! Stunning cocktails and presentations of dishes with exceptionally fresh seafood. All of the staff we encountered were very professional, and they even encouraged us to check out the fire pits and uncovered deck in the back for the best view. Loved the seafood market on the property as well. I can't wait to come back when the weather gets warmer to enjoy it Rowayton Seafood all over again!

The raw clam is must try, very fresh great price $2 each, save your trip to long island , this is much better. Mushrooms risotto taste so good, the risotto cooked just about right and it soaked in all mushrooms flavor $14 side dishes Fish and chips .... The fish batter is very thin, fish itself fresh and just perfect. Fries is good and love their coleslaw too. One of the best Clam chowder is also decent with a big clam in it. Came in here after lunch hour, there's self parking across street next to the pizza place very convenient. Clean bathroom and nice atmosphere, would definitely come back again to try more items on menu.
Be the first to ReplyI had high high hopes for this place.
I'm truly disappointed. The 2 stars are for the servers and and hostess for being friendly and attentive. The food was greasy, awful, mostly tastes frozen, with no flavor. In addition, I had awful heartburn the most of the late afternoon. I'm not really sure if this was a fluke but The calamari tasted like rubber band-ish Kids' chic n fries was frozen and the grilled cheese was soaked and soppy with butter I'm so disappointed The fish and chips with so greasy but prob the most tastiest I don't understand the popularity. I mean I do, the people are friendly and the views are amazing so maybes that's the draw.

We had a reservation and were sat promptly. The service was great and the food was delicious!!
Be the first to ReplyThe three of us went there on a Sunday night.
We were there at 5 PM but the place was packed already. The food is good so is the service. We had a lovely view of the sunset by the water. The only downside was the parking.

we looked forward to an amazing seafood meal and found a very disappointing quality of fish and skill from the kitchen. Please consider this review before venturing out. To end in a positive their raw bar was ok not great but ok.

Be the first to ReplyWe absolutely love this seafood restaurant.
Sitting outside is always preferred. Everything from fresh oysters to lobsta rolls. Oh yes Lobsta and more. Friendly servers make the experience a winner every time.

We chose Rowayton Seafood to celebrate our first anniversary, it was our first time here and WOW we will be coming back. The ambiance, the service (the food came out so quick and pipping hot!) They knew it was our anniversary and made it so special. The General Manager is so nice and welcoming. We will be coming back!

This is now my favorite seafood place in ct! For many reasons, 1. The service is amazing v, they are nice but also very mindful and they seem to enjoy working there a lot which I love, 2. The food is amazing! The oysters were amazing and the white wine mussels are so good! They have a great garlic and parsley mix that makes you eat your weight in bread! 3. The view, my goodness it is just a place you want to stay in for a long time after you have finished your food!

I have been longing to go to this restaurant since I drove past while lost last summer, albeit it's always been challenging to get a reservation on a Friday or Saturday evening. I thought to myself, this must be a fantastic seafood restaurant. After all, how could it not be, it's right on the water and next to a seafood market? I finally managed a reservation last evening and was drastically disappointed by the food. The restaurant is lovely, and the service is fabulous, albeit the fish - is inadequate. We started with the steamers, which I expected to arrive at our table in a bowl toppling with shells. Indeed, we were presented with a watery plate with NINE steamers which should have been served with a shovel as they were FULL OF SAND. We continued with the Tuna Sashimi Flatbread, served on an over-grilled tortilla sprinkled with tuna that looked cut with a plastic knife. My husband ordered the fish and chips, which consisted of four matchstick pieces of fish that looked like the frozen fish sticks you would find piled up on your elementary cafeteria tray. I ordered the salmon, which was overcooked on top and also managed to be slimy on the bottom. We closed our meal with a stale piece of mass-produced food service provider Lemon Blueberry Mascarpone Cake. So sad, Rowayton Seafood - Northeast seafood is a gift you have managed to ruin.

Haven't been here in quite a while, so we weren't sure what to expect. Making reservations isn't the easiest as you have to go on to their own site- and availability is like non-existent. We started with soup:Clam chowder and lobster bisque. Very good and then shared a Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail. The salad is bis enough for 3- so be warned. I got the scallop linguini special- it was tasty and the tomatoes were very good. We also had the lobster ravioli- very filling and with nice generous chunks of lobster. Ended with vanilla ice cream and 7 layer chocolate cake. Good service. They definitely work to flip the tables but we didn't feel rushed like at Sails. It was pricier but worth it. Great place to meet with friends, date night or with other couples.

Nice view and location on the water (parking is a nightmare). Staff was very pleasant. Food was average, especially for the price. Lobster bisque was barely lukewarm. The lobster roll was good (I've had better) and the french fries were crisp and nicely salted. Cobb salad was average. Shrimp had too much old Bay seasoning. The herbs seasoning dressing was extremely bland and the dry blue cheese did not help. It would be easy to minimize the seasoning on the shrimp and choose a vinaigrette with a Ryes blue cheese. I believe that would be a better choice.
Be the first to ReplyMagnificent marina views.
We ate outside in marina gazebo. The food was seafood at its best and quite fresh. Nice spring to fall locale. Have yet to eat in main dining room but it's about the food. Will return. Make reservations!

Not only is this one of the most scenic restaurants ever, but they have some of the best food I've ever had! All of their dishes are exceptional, but our favorites were the Tuna Sashimi Flatbread, the Shrimp/Lobster Spring Rolls, and the Yellow Tail Tuna entree. Everything was truly phenomenal
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, service, and atmosphere.
We went big and ordered oysters, mussels, barramundi, halibut, and key lime pie. Each dish was perfectly prepared. Looking forward to our next visit!

Always heard good things and was ready to try it for my girlfriend's birthday. I wanted to make a reservation online but nothing was left... could it really be that good?I called, a few days ahead for a busy day & time, and the woman that picked up the phone was gracious enough to fit us in.When we showed up, valet took the car and we were seated by the host with a "happy birthday" within minutes. Our waiter, Paris, recommended some delicious wines based on what we were looking at for dinner and we enjoyed the ambiance as the sun set.The buffalo calamari was terrific, as was the shrimp cocktail. The swordfish was the best I think I've ever had and her salmon was delicious as well. After the entrees and another round, we opted for a banana-based cocktail which was surprisingly good and we're surprised by some sorbet for birthday dessert! From the phone to the host to the waiter and the bus boys, the service couldn't have been better. We were too busy enjoying our time to take any pictures but please believe me when I say, this was a terrific night. We'll 100% be coming back & will be looking forward to it again until we do.
