Had a really fantastic meal here in this busy little restaurant. Our meal was superb my friend had carbonara and I had the lasagna both were so tasty. I never order carbonara but on this occasion I had carbonara jealousy. The garlic bread which accompanied the meals was simply delicious. This is not an Italian restaurant, the menu is extremely varied and caters to all tastes. The drinks are reasonably priced and I had a lovely glass of Merlot This restaurant is busy and I can perfectly see why so booking is a must. I highly recommend Saffys and I look forward to my next visit. Lovely owner and nice staff. Restaurant very clean
Be the first to ReplyUnbelievable. Shocking...!
Absolutely terrible. Don't know how this place is still operating. King prawn tempura to start, flung together, batter like cement render and completely tasteless,no garnish. Chef constantly yawning and looked unclean and uninterested. Then I had haddock and chips. Oh dear..! Overcooked fish in the same horrible tasteless batter. Half the chips were raw and the peas were slittered in cream...???

I fancied a peppered steak last night so I looked at a few places. I made the correct choice, SAFFYS! The place was really busy and rightly so. Seated quickly and I just said to the young lady ‘ I really fancy a peppered steak’ She said ‘ we can do that’! Pepper steak was lovely, great onion rings and chips too, accompanied by a lovely glass of Merlot. Can’t believe I’ve not been in ages, will definitely be back soon. Very varied menu, can’t believe how Dougie and his staff produce this fantastic, varied food from a wee kitchen!! Well done guys, see you soon!

Great place to visit. Lovely dining room in nice location, great friendly service and amazing food and menu. After visiting for last 15 years I’m amazed at how they have managed to maintain the levels of quality - never had a bad experience and seems if anything to be getting even better. There’s a reason they don’t slip down these rankings and others come and go. The best in Ayr by a country mile - if visiting soon try the mussels - best I ever had anywhere in UK

Just had Christmas lunch. Delicious fish cakes followed by the best turkey dinner. Never fails to impress. Well done to the lovely staff

Saffys has to be the best place for meals in the west coast of Scotland. The food and service is always 5 star quality. Keep up the good work.
Be the first to ReplySaffy's still good after many years
There are lot of lovely places to eat in and around Ayr but aside from Italian, Indian, Thai etc, a lot of the menus are quite similar. We'd been to Saffy's many, many years ago and enjoyed it. Now living in the area and having been to most of the best-rated places several times (Scott's, Fox & Willow, Savoy, Piersland etc) we remembered Saffy's and decided to give it a go. We weren't disappointed. We liked the quirky decor and the menu was that little bit different whilst also including the tried and tested for our picky teen. Definitely worth a visit!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time visit, really good food, will visit restaurant again
I spent 3 days in Ayr visiting a friend and she raved about this restaurant so we finally got around to going there on my last evening before moving on as they'd been closed for a couple of days and then were fully booked when we first tried to get in. We got a table around 8pm and it was still packed with people then - it looks like the go to spot in Ayr for grub and now I know why; food was super tasty and I'd go as far to say it was one of the nicest meals I had during my 10 days or so travelling throughout Scotland. Restaurant was really busy but the staff were really attentive and made sure everyone was happy with everything. Good food for good prices, nice clean and tidy building. Highly recommended & will visit again when next in the area.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and superb food.
First time we have been to Saffys and we will definitely be back. Excellent service in great casual surroundings. We were looked after by three fabulous young ladies working all In harmony. Douglas and his team create memorable food. A very different menu and all diets catered for. Easy to park and walk to and just a delight for Ayrshire. Throughly recommend. Sorry it’s taken so along to Go there !

Really enjoyed the price and especially the quality of the food. We haven't been for years. Service was attentive for six of us. For a Thursday night the place was buzzing, perhaps being adjacent to the Gaiety helps

You have to visit this cute cosy restaurant if you’re in Ayr, food is amazing - the salmon curry was to die for. Staff are so accomodating and friendly! I can’t wait to return when I’m back in Ayr, i would definitely recommend booking as the place was packed, even on a Wednesday.
Be the first to ReplyBest Dog Friendly Restaurant in Ayr!
I visited Saffy’s with my Mum, Dad and our dog whilst visiting Ayr for the first time. The staff member in Saffy’s welcomed us and promptly found us a table. Most importantly the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great too, not too loud and not too quiet - just right! Overall 10/10!!
Be the first to ReplyOur first visit but certainly not the last 👍
My wife and I ate at Saffy’s for the first time today. We were dining with friends who recommended the place and use it regularly. The meals, the surroundings, the service was first class. We will definitely be back in the near future to eat at Saffy’s again. A really nice meal, well cooked and reasonably priced. 👍

Food was excellent and service very good but the restaurant needs to be redecorated, waitresses wore leggings and t shirts and restaurant was empty by 9.30pm on a Saturday night
Be the first to ReplyExcellent quality, local experience
Another big thank you to TripAdvisor for pointing us in the direction of a great place to eat, while overnighting in an area we don’t know well. Just a block or so from the Ayr high street/shopping district, Saffy’s was easy walking distance from our Bed and Breakfast and the waterfront. Lots of locals filling a place up on a Sunday evening must be a good sign, and it was. The menu is extensive - not always a good thing, but this place was the exception. Many tasty options, yet none of the “sorry, we haven’t got this”, “we are out of ….”. No, everything was available and, despite being a very busy time, our meals came out quickly. Wow, delicious! The fish curry featuring so many different fish and seafood, was stunning. And the lamb was tender and perfectly cooked too. The service here is great, super-efficient - the small team manage the busy restaurant excellently. We were very lucky to arrive early and get a table because after us, every other table was fully booked. So I recommend that you book. Thanks for a great meal and awesome local flavour, team Saffy’s!
