An absolute hidden gem in Tribeca.
Food and service was amazing. I absolutely loved the idea of choices at a prefixed price. I am not one who usually goes for a prefix priced meal. There are many times where i might want to order a main as part of my appetizers. Call me crazy. I just like to order what I want. Lol. The ambience and decor were old world. You felt like you were in a wine vineyards special cellar. Wines and drinks were also excellent. If I had one gripe, I must say we felt a little rushed between courses. Other then that we loved our experience, and will be back again.

I'd order everything I got again. I tried to order a port wine and they convinced me otherwise, and when I tried to order it again they only had two options. But the food was really yummy

The ambiance is golden candle light and flowers is only exceeded my the amazing food and service. The food was presented like works of art. The combination of textures and scents and taste made me quiver in anticipation of the next plate. The flavors took me on such a journey. I found myself scraping my plates just to still enjoy some of the sauces. It was an inspired meal.

The food was spectacular and the ambience was very nice! The only thing we didn't like was that the servers, managers, and busboys were CONSTANTLY coming over to our table to ask how things were or take something away from the table. The service is appreciated, but we could barely have a conversation without being interrupted by something. Other than that, it was definitely a high quality meal.

Every time we dine at Scalini Fedele, it becomes another wonderful memory! The atmosphere, the service & most importantly, the food, are all so well thought out & executed. They key for us is the food. The best decor & service doesn't mean much if the food is not good. Happily, this has never been an issue! Now, if only they could figure out a way to install a restroom on the main floor, we would give them 6 Stars!!!

An exceptional dining experience! We recently celebrated my husband's milestone birthday there. The service is impeccable--the best we've ever had, and I'm a native New Yorker, living here all my life. We are still Covid-cautious, so went on a Tuesday rather than the weekend. We were happily seated in a cozy corner with no other diners at the surrounding tables, so we felt very safe. I have many dietary restrictions, and the server and kitchen were extremely accommodating. The server checked back with me a few times to ask about items I hadn't mentioned. I couldn't eat the complimentary dishes and amuse-bouches, but my husband and daughter loved their pasta dishes, entrees, and desserts, as well as all the extras. The prix-fixe price was reasonable for the amount of food, but wine, bottled water, tea, coffee, tax and tip ran up the tab considerably.

This restaurant, blew me out of the water for NYE - the service and ambience was spot on... wait for it... SENSIBLE PRICE POINT FOR NYE - $150 for 5 courses. Let me tell you: the pasta dishes blew us out of the fuck'n water. 1/ Butternut Squash AgnolottiButternut squash agnolotti in a sage butter topped with crushed amaretti and buffalo mozzarella2/ Butternut Squash AgnolottiButternut squash agnolotti in a sage butter topped with crushed amaretti and buffalo mozzarellaNick, the manager, was fantastic and ensured I kept my reservation despite a booking hiccup. I will return over and over again for their incredible pasta and wine collection.

After a long hunt for the egg yolk raviolo, we finally found a place that served it. I was so excited and the menu looked amazing. This is definitely a classy restaurant with high end service, which was much appreciated. The meal started out exceptionally well with the delicious, aperitifs and appetizers. However, I was extremely disappointed when we reached the entrées. The duck entrée tasted mealy and the plating was just sad, the best thing on the dish was the Jerusalem artichoke. Even though the port sauce was delicious, there just wasn't enough of it. The diver sea scallops was only seared on one side, which I'll never understand, sitting on a bed of sad, wilted greens, I cannot and identify, but seems like some sort of Asian vegetable, along side an extremely salty piece of prosciutto. I think if the prosciutto was crumbled and sprinkled on top, it may have been much better. Where is the celery root purée? All I kept thinking was, "I should've taken the server's suggestion and ordered the filet of sole."They redeemed themselves with their sorbets and soufflé with the exception of the donuts. The coconut lime sorbet palette cleanser was really delicious, light, airy, tart, and just the right amount of sweet. The soufflé could've been airier but nevertheless, still delicious. The gelato and praline served alongside it was delicious as well. Unfortunately, the donuts fell short. They didn't have much flavor, and they weren't as fluffy as they could be, but the gelato they served alongside it was great. Would I ever go back? Absolutely not. Not even for the delicious perfectly cooked raviolo. I think not having a drink menu but telling you "they can make any drink I want", then charging $25 per drink is a little steep. After two martinis and $50, how happy was I that they didn't have the ginger beer to make my Moscow Mule. However, if you want a night out with great service and money is no object, you should certainly should give this place to try. Although, there are many other options for service just as good and food that is better...if you want to spend this kind of money.
Be the first to ReplyOur experience here was exceptional in every way.
Every dish was a masterpiece, and service was impeccable. The dining room here is a work of art, intimate in a way that you feel part of the buzz without being on top of your neighbors. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyWe joined Scalini Fedeli for Valentine's day.
They were quite busy, and we had to wait around 10 minutes for our table, which they profusely apologized for, and provided us with complimentary prosecco. Once we sat down, we understood why they were so busy - the service was excellent, the wine list extensive, and the courses all above average to superb. It was a wonderful experience, and we will certainly be back!

High prices (I think I spent about $300 + tip) but excellent restaurant! The food is fantastic and the staff is attentive. Sometimes they have a special for the evening but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyVery Old Fashion, but.
......We need a little of that stuff now more than ever. The menu is really satisfying and you will not be disappointed. Go with someone you love and you will not be disappointed. The biggest surprise was the price which we were really Shocked at how reasonable the meal was. My wife and I have lived in Tribeca for 45 yrs. Enjoy
Be the first to ReplyWe forgot we were in NYC.
The restaurant is quiet, soft, comfortable and intimate. The staff professional. It has a Michelin rating feel about it. The service was well paced... the meals appropriately portioned.... you won't walk away hungry. The gnocchi was pillow-like in its softness, the shrimp was unique and elegant, the duck was flavorful. The pre fixe format was simple and filled with a few nice surprises. Scalini Fedeli is intentional fine dining.
Be the first to ReplyWent for a work dinner.
Food was pretty decent and they had good variety but it was somewhat pricey. The ambience and the service were certainly nice and upscale. Decent option if you're not price sensitive
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian restaurant in NYC.
Have yet to be anything other than blown away by each of the 20+ courses I've tried here over the years. I will continue to advocate for and support Scalini Fedeli!
Be the first to ReplyI have worked in many restaurant's in NYC, and I have dined
I have worked in many restaurant's in NYC, and I have dined in many more. I was recommended Scalini Fedeli by the Concierge at our hotel. I had asked for reservations at The River Cafe, but it was booked. My husband and I are glad that we dined here instead. Taking food, service, decor and cost into consideration I'll put Scalini at the top of my list in NYC. Scalini occupies the old Bouley space, and it is as beautiful as I remembered. Our Captain, a mature man, was very polite and very solicitous. My husband and I dine in Italian restaurants frequently, but the kitchen at Scalini excelled in ways that others don't. The highlights of the evening were Porcini Ravioli in Black Truffle sauce. Pork Chop San Domenico, and warm flourless Chocolate Cake with Pistacchio and Amarena Cherry. Very delicious!

If you are looking for an elegant Italian restaurant you owe it to yourself to reserve a table at Scalini. We've all experienced wonderful traditional Italian dinners. Rarely does a chef push the envelope taking those dishes we all love to a new level. Taking traditional ingredients and creating a modern interpretation to those dishes we all love. This is done with amazing attention to detail that can only be accomplished by a talented chef. We enjoyed an evening sampling several dishes each truly more impressive than the prior. A real treat. Beyond the amazing culinary surprise was the equally impressive service. If I could give Scalini 6 stars I would.
