Expected better from this high-end Italian chain.
Food was generally good (if in-stock), but the environment/ambiance was a let down.I chose to bring my coworkers here for a going-away dinner for an employee on a Monday night. It wasn't overly busy, but definitely more patrons than a single server can handle. Pretty sure our server was the only one responsible for the whole room, which we appreciate his ability to handle it.First, ambiance - They sat us at a small round table that was half booth and 2 chairs for the 6 of us, but the round table was really small in diameter and everyone's knees were hitting each other. It's really probably not made for more than 3 or 4, so I got to sit uncomfortable for the couple of hours we were there. The entire upstairs was empty, but that's also where the bathroom, so take note if stairs are not your thing.Menu-wise is also an experience. They just give you a QR code for you to scan. So every time we wanted to get another drink or something, gotta scan the QR code. Quite annoying.Food-wise, I actually think the appetizers and entrees that were actually in-stock were pretty good, but nothing over the top amazing. One of the beers I asked for was not in stock and I was given a different beer without asking me. They also had beer that wasn't on menu and I chanced out on one of those and it was pretty good.My coworker experienced probably the most frustration of the evening where the entrée and the desert he wanted were both out of stock. Unheard of IMHO on a early Monday evening, but he made do. They also never brought him his espresso, but that was addressed in the bill, no worries there. Now specifically for the food, we got the following for the table:-Meat and cheese spread tray-bruschetta-meatballsMeatballs were probably the highlight. The bruschetta is on par and the meat/cheese spread tray probably didn't come with enough bread.Off the specials of the day menu, I got the halibut with truffle sauce and truffle carpaccio which came over broccoli rabe and roasted potatoes. I actually thought this was quite good and probably something not found so easily. I wouldn't necessarily put up with everything in this review to come here to get it again, but I do recommend this dish. For dessert, I didn't see anything too interesting, so ended up trying something new - torta santa rosalia. Wasn't bad, but wasn't overly amazing.Maybe other locations are better, but probably gonna stick with more traditional red sauce joints next time for team dinners.

Went for drinks, seated right away at bar, they let us know well in advance on last call if we wanted to get anything in. Been to other Serafinas, this one is more bistro and smaller, which is fine.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a very pleasant place.
We sat upstairs . I think these old buildings with the worn brick and irregular floors are much nicer than newer interiors.I had the eggs Benedict with smoke salmon. It came with potatoes . I usually say hold the potatoes but thankfully I forgot. The potatoes with onions were fantastic. The eggs B was tasty. It was Saturday afternoon. It was very busy . I felt fortunate to get a table.

Slow, unconcerned service. Servers literally dumped the food on the table without even checking/bring us new silverware. It felt more like a fast food dining hall than a nice (and expensive) restaurant. They're an Italian restaurant and yet serve the worst pasta in the neighborhood. Don't waste your time or money. There are at least 5 other Italian restaurants within walking distance with much better food for the same or lower price. What a waste of a good location in Tribeca.
Be the first to ReplyThis is our go to spot in the city.
We eat here almost once a week and have never had a bad meal. The service is always fast and you can usually just walk in. Chicken paillard, chicken salad, tagliolini are our go tos but everything is great.

I must remember to take photos for reviews I only have video. The girls and I went here decided last minute and I was extremely late. By the time I arrived my beautiful sea bass and broccoli was awaiting me. The others, one had another fish, the other extra creamy cheese shrimp scampi I believe. The ambience was great and the servers were accommodating and polite..... we were last to leave. They were waiting on us to turn the lights off The food was tasty and well presented and great portions. I had a fruity champagne cocktail that was refreshing. I'll definitely be back when I don't have to rush and can enjoy an appe.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a ripoff.
You don't get much for what you pay for. The first time I ordered from Serafina, I ordered gnocchi and the goat cheese salad and thought it was ok. The second time, I realized it was a massive ripoff. For almost $25 I ordered the eggplant parm - expected it to come with somePasta for the price but nope, just the eggplant, barely any sauce, and a small piece of bread Not eating here again
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is gorgeous but the service was mediocre.
Our waiter was standoffish and also just left us there for a long time. The food was okay. We got the lobster ravioli and it was pretty good. The safe and butter ravioli was bland. He didn't really check on us and it took 15 minutes to get our tab after asking multiple times. I completely understand if they had been busy but tbh it seemed like we just didn't matter.

At the entrance we were met by a polite administrator. The service was also good. The calamari was tasty, but the pizza was dry with not enough toppings

One of the reassuring Italian chains in NYC would for sure be @serafinanewyork ! Not my first time here, and for this occasion my favorite out of all would be the truffles crostini, which is on the special menu. The bread was not that crunchy, but the truffles spread tasted flavorful and really amazing! Both being truffles, the crostini was definitely better than the pasta in my opinion!
Be the first to ReplyI came in for lunch.
A white family came in before me and were seated promptly. The person who was acting as the host asked me if I wanted to be seated inside or outside. I said outside would be fine. I was asked to step outside and told "one of my guys will be with you." I stood there waiting as two separate members of the staff blew past me, only speaking to me to ask me to move out of their way as they attended to their white customers. A white couple then left their table outside and asked the host for a different accommodation and again were promptly assisted. I then walked away. Perhaps, I was overdressed in a long houndstooth dress and black suit jacket as the white customers who were given preferential treatment were in jeans. Or perhaps they don't want black people to be patrons at their establishment. I suppose that's for you to decide. As both a citizen of New York City and a litigation attorney who continues to see the horrors of discrimination in this great city, I sincerely believe it's the latter. I'm sure the management will make some sort of pre-textual excuse for their de facto refusal of service. Either way, my personal advice is that If you're darker than a paper bag; I would suggest looking elsewhere to enjoy a nice lunch.
Be the first to ReplyLOVE! Walked by and thought the menu looked good.
Love the outdoor and indoor seating options - so spacious and great ambiance. Great service and delicious calamari and pizza. So surprised to see it has such low Yelp reviews bc I really liked this place.

First time trying this restaurant, our daughter found this gem. The whole family loved it!! Everything we order was "Bellissimo"Also the ambiance was great, our waiter was attentive. We were visiting from Washington DC, we will be back. This will be on top of our list of restaurants to dine in next time we are in the city.

Great food, great ambiance, and great service! We sat inside, but their outdoor seating is AWESOME. The inside is nice and cozy and the servers are extremely attentive. I highly recommend this place. It's a great spot in TriBeCa to stop in! We got the bruschetta which was to die for. Some cocktails included dirty martinis and the Serafina champagne cocktail. I got the penne pomadoro and my friend got the farafelle with shrimp. For dessert we did the affogato, which is a perfect way to end the night.

My partner and I were walking down Tribeca looking for a spot to eat and we passed by this restaurant that had many people outside and inside, which was a good sign to us that something must be good here. I'm glad we stopped and the host sat us down inside with no wait despite having no reservation. The restaurant has a NYC vibe and the food is very good! The chicken parmigiana is outstanding!

Shame on you. Protect the children and avoid this place. Serafina for pedos
Be the first to ReplyUnpopular opinion here but I was not impressed.
Had the calamari, burger with a salad, and vodka pasta. The breading on the calamari was too thick and it wasn't even crispy- half of it just fell off. We asked for the burger to be cooked medium but it came out well done plus slightly burnt. The salad on the side was sad- the lettuce was old and droopy. The pasta was done well and the sauce was good but I can't justify paying $20+ for a plate of pasta with no meat and nothing special/something I could easily make on my own for less than $5.The food fell entirely flat for me and the high price tags did not help the case. They have a lot of outdoor space with heaters though if you're looking for a restaurant to eat outdoors in the winter.

I think they closed - placed an order for delivery on November 3 and they charged my credit card but never delivered and their phone number just rings with no answer. Used to be good but I guess they couldn't make it.
Be the first to ReplyI sat at the bar and watched NFL football.
Nice wine selection. Ordered the "VIP Margherita" pizza pie - this features an upgrade to "fior di latte" mozzarella. Was delicious. Sauce had a good tang. Basil notes and mozz was yummy. Crust perfectly cooked-Some light char on the bottom. Was a 12" pizza pie. Enough to feed two people. I took half the pizza pie back to go. Service was professional, personable - spot-on. I would return here in heartbeat.
Be the first to ReplyThe food at this location is Serafina is solid.
I thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti cacio e pepe and my glass of chianti. Perfect pairing and you will not be disappointed in that order. I also tried the Nutella flatbread and it was good, though not mind blowing. I enjoyed the mix of Nutella and strawberry filling, but it would have been better if the dough resembled a pizza dough rather than what was more of a cracker. We sat outside on the patio, which is one of the prettiest and most comfortable outdoor setups I've been to. The patio is covered with a roof and decorated with lovely lilac garlands. Ceiling heat lamps are on to keep you toasty and tables are well spaced. One star off for service, which felt unfriendly, rushed, and kind of rude. Though we had not yet ordered dessert or after dinner drinks, our waiter kept trying to give us the check and telling us they needed our table for another party (what sit down restaurant expects customers to eat one dish and go?!). Then when we were done, he took awhile with the bill and printing up our checks. We weren't even done signing them when the manager came over and told us we had to vacate the table.Wheelchair access: patio is flush with the street so easily accessible. Entrance is step free.
