Never going back again
I have visited Signor Sassi but I will never go back. The service was very slow and the staff are rude and arrogant with no respect for customer including the manager.

Me and my family used to call sassi our favourite restaurant not anymore with great regret I have watched to decline in the last year or so we waited nearly an hour last night for our food the style and look also flavour of dishes have completely changed as if a chef who knows nothing about Italian cuisine Avoid very disappointed will never visit again after 25 years of patronage McDonald’s would be more reliable

Be the first to ReplyWOW!
Wow. Incredible food and service. We went as a large group and the service was great and food was even better. The quality was just amazing and I would have happily eaten anything ordered by anyone on our table as if all just looked so good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, everything you could want from an Italian and I will definitely be visiting again.

Be the first to ReplyAverage Italian
We were super excited to visit Signor Sassi since we have been hearing about it for a while. I guess we went there with very high expectations but honestly it was an ordinary Italian restaurant but with very high prices :( I have been to much better quality ones in London with either similar price level or cheaper. Service was good, our waiter was very kind, friendly, but the food was average and thats why I rated 3
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Lunch
I had not been for a while.Am pleased to say that the food and service were excellent and enjoyed great afternoon with my friends.
Be the first to ReplyOkay - but shell in my crab tortellini
The food was good, small portions but nice. Was 4 of us and 2 bottles of wine which came to £90 each. My crab tortellini was nice but had 3 big bits of shell which for the price i didn’t expect
Be the first to ReplyNot the same - rude staff and average food we won’t be returning!
We have been coming to Signor Sassi’s for many years, we have always been very excited to visit as it is usually a great experience, however this was not what we experienced in previous times. We arrived around 4pm to a restaurant which was half empty and told by a very rude, abrupt female host that it was now reservation only, we could see how empty the restaurant was so we left the restaurant and booked a table online literally whilst standing outside the door and walked immediately back in to be greeted by the same host - who clearly didn’t recognize us from 3-4 minutes before, asked the same question and reluctantly seated us after 10 minutes. The staff now seem to have a arrogance about them, chanting and shouting whilst this has felt all part of the fun before this visit it seemed to have a totally different feel, we were grunted at by waiters and not made to feel welcome at all, the food was served to us without anybody asking if we needed another drink, parmesan, pepper etc and it wasn’t as we remember it, quite average for the price point when comparing to other Italians in London, we won’t be returning sadly!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and beautiful setting
I loved it here! Came for a birthday dinner with family. Was shown to a private room upstairs, which gave us lots of space (8 of us), but lacked atmosphere without any music or other diners. Food itself was delicious, vast menu with great range of options. Extensive drinks list too! Waiters were friendly and attentive (a little rushed though). Definitely a great spot for a romantic date or family gathering!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant!
We were running late and phoned to let the staff know, they were super nice about it and the service was great all night. Food was delicious too.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing...
I had eaten here many years ago, so was expecting high standards, but unfortunately my wife and I left feeling disappointed. The food was very average and the service was just ok, had to remind them of a few things - not what I'd expect from the same company group that also has Fumo. The toilets were up a spiral staircase and the walk through the deserted 1st floor was quite depressing and badly needing updating. It would benefit from background music as without, it lacked an upbeat/vibrant ambience, only waiters shouting loudly and banging of dishes/cutlery. We were hoping to leave the Restaurant feeling like we'd had a great experience, but left feeling very unlikely that we will revisit.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t eat Pasta at Signor Sassi - Knightsbridge
I was at signor sassi at Knightsbridge lunch time with my family. I’ve ordered a plate of spaghetti al pomodoro for my daughter and paccheri al ragù for me, the pasta was served pre boiled thus overcooked a chewing gum impossible to eat, worst then spaghetti Heinz in a tin. You could throw it on the ceiling and leave it there hanging. I let them know about my disappointment and I was told English customers love it cocked in that way since they don’t like to wait longer then 5 minutes. Now considering we are exporting culture that answer sounds to me a criminal offense. Checco Zalone would have said VICHINGO!!!! In a top restaurant a believe 11 minutes a customer can wait to get served a proper plate of pasta. Besides they use pasta De Cecco which is ok but poor CAV De Cecco because he doesn’t know how badly treat his pasta. 100£ bill never again - Mr C Brancaccio

Amazing place, very nice Italian food. Service just spot on. One of the best place that I have never been in London. I will come back
Be the first to ReplyJust Fabulous.
Reading all the reviews, I can not believe I went to the same place. We were shown to a lovely table right by the window and the maitre D. looked really miserable. I said "smile" and he said "this is me smiling"and it was, as he maintained the same face the whole time we were there. The waiter was super happy and we ordered a couple of cocktails and some sparkling water, which were bought immediately. We ordered the Gnocchi Con Scampi and my friend had another pasta dish. They were both bought quickly and were hot and tasted great. We followed up with the cheesecake and sorbets which again were bought swiftly to the table and were yummy. The total bill was just over £100 including service which we thought was very reasonable for the beautiful restaurant, excellent service and great food. Will go there again for sure.
Be the first to ReplyNice enough food but poor service
The food was okay if a bit oily, but you need to be Italian or well known to the proprietors and waiters if you want a warm welcome and friendly service. Otherwise expect a somewhat surly style of interaction. It was busy so maybe they don't need or want any new customers. And watch out for all the optional additions to the bill....
Be the first to ReplyLovely Restaurant
What a pretty restaurant. Tucked away in a corner of Knightbridge this was a real find. Can't believe the poor reviews for this place. Super table by the window....service was swift and friendly. Food was hot and tasty and the cocktails were well made. We had 2 courses with drinks and the bill was 100 pounds which my friend and thought was reasonable. We weren't rushed at any time and was a great start to our evening with Adele who incidently "knocked it out the park"! Will return, thank you
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced on all counts
Visited as a party of four. Food was very mediocre and vastly overpriced, service was poor and timings of food to table was unacceptable. Would avoid at all cost. No service yet service charge included as standard. Disappointed
Be the first to ReplyTerrible decline - such a shame
I have been going to SS for many years now - probably 50+ visits both with work (being based in the city going to Knightsbridge was a change for clients and colleagues) and also with family. Throughout the years SS has been the family favourite for birthdays etc. The children loved going up to the "west end". We went there (a party of 10) for my wife's 50th in May and the service had deteriorated and the food was nothing to write home about. When my son was asked where did he want to go to celebrate his 19th birthday he of course chose SS. We duly arrived at 8pm on the day and the waiter (senior as he was in a suit) couldnt have shown less interest when taking our order. I really felt as if i had inconvenienced him by daring to turn up. That should have rung alarm bells - they got my wife and son's drink order wrong. My starter (smoked salmon) must have been plated up for ages as the salmon was drying at the edges and had actually properly stuck to the plate. My steak (ordered rare) was at best medium and my wife's dish didnt arrive at all. Raising this with another waiter it was clear the original person simply hadn't recorded her order. From our table i could see the order station and the waiter looking for her order so i am 100% sure it simply hadnt been put through. She insisted we ate ours and her carbonara arrived just as we finished. No apologies. The carbonara - a signature Italian dish was dreadful. It had no cheese taste at all and simply resembled a béchamel sauce with some bacon lardons. No apologies or anything. Bill was £291 for 3 people. I have spent £0000s here over the years but the last two visits will be my last ever. The staff, once one of the highlights, are arrogant and utterly disinterested in the customers. The food itself has deteriorated to a level where even i could do better. On getting home i was so disappointed i looked on Tripadvisor to see if my last two experiences were unusual. It appears not! Such a shame and given the price a complete rip off. Unless you are a tourist wanting to go to a destination place in Knightsbridge and/or are not really interested in good food then i suggest you avoid it.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced, arrogant and underwhelming
Let me start off by saying that the restaurant looks beautiful with lovely flowers and waiters in their starched white tunics. However when you scratch beneath the veneer the reality becomes more apparent I appreciate the restaurant is in Knightsbridge but I felt as if I was taken for a fool. The £10 cover charge per person, including kids, on top of a 12.5% service charge left an unwelcome taste at the end of the meal. Whilst the simple pasta dishes were perfectly acceptable, at these prices I would have expected more, much more. Similarly the service was brusque and arrogant and made me feel uncomfortable, and I rarely feel uncomfortable in any setting. The pancake desert however was on a different level. Old, cold and dry pancake with what tasted like store bought custard filling, cardboard and custard was disgusting Please don’t get me wrong I absolutely don’t mind paying top dollar if one gets top quality but this just wasn’t the case at Mr Sassi, I just felt ripped off!

Consistency in excellent food and excellent service.
We have been visiting this Knightsbridge classic for over last two decades and they never failed our expectations. Most of the staff members have been working there for over 10 years. They always welcome guests with smiling face. They sometimes make a joke, sometimes sing a song which only makes this place very vibrant and makes you feel happy. I can say that this is one of the best pasta restaurants in London and my favourite is Lobster Spaghetti. Whether we stop by for a plate of pasta or a four course dinner, we always get the same perfect service. If you are hungry and also would like to have some fun I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but dirty toilet area.
Although the food was mainly good except the Zucchini Frite which was all batter and very little Zucchini.
My main issue was the toilets were filthy.
This is a busy restaurant so eat slowly otherwise you are served at breakneck speed.
Terrible service. Unfortunately the food doesn’t make up for the awful service
Review - 1
We came for a dinner with friends and the service was awful. When the server asked us about how the food was we said to server that the pumpkin ravioli was not good and he did not take it well. We did not expect anything in return but the treatment was not nice at all. He was grating cheese on our dishes and was deliberately dropping it inside our glasses and on our clothes. Once we were finished we asked for some of our dishes to be packed which he forgot and then when we were leaving we asked him for our takeaway and he replied rudely that I was never told about it and didn’t know. We found the manager while leaving and told him about the takeaway and he was very cold to us and we informed him that the service was not good and he replied to us that he didn’t care. This is not the kind of service we expected from such a highly rated restaurant. Terrible experience.
