Delightful place for a light meal and wine tasting
In a light, modern and airy space in the middle of Rice Village, this two-story restaurant cum wine bar offers a relaxing environment, lots of choices for shareable dishes and a broad selection of wines by the glass (or by the bottle). Open all day after around 10-11 am, it is a great place for brunch, lunch, snack, happy hour or dinner. We shared the bacon-wrapped dates, which were perfect. The burrata came in a lovely presentation and a delightful dressing. The Crispy Zucchini is a large portion, definitely to share. It has multiple consistencies, and textures, with varying levels of crunchiness. The meatballs were delicious, a mix of beef and lamb in a light tomato-based sauce. The Fried Chicken and Caviar was a disappointment: the chicken breast (yes, they only serve breast...) was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, but had absolutely no taste. The caviar was invisible, so we can't recommend it. We tried six different types of wine, mostly from the West Coast. The Albarino and Kith & Kin Chardonnay were enjoyable, but the Quilt Cab/Merlot was the best! The espresso had the right aroma but was gritty and only mediocre; the Cappuccino was disappointing. It was the usual story: most places in Houston can't tell the difference between a Latte and a Cappuccino and both are served with lots of milk, with some added foam to the Cappuccino. This was no exception, so we left it on the table. Overall, a delightful way to enjoy a couple of hours. Just stay away from the fried chicken and the Cappuccino.
Be the first to ReplyGreat lunch and wine
My husband and I had a late lunch here. This restaurant has a great wine selection. Menu was terrific and service was fantastic. We tried the hummus appetizer and both of us had salads which were fantastic. Weโll be back!

My friend and I enjoyed the Ambiance and the variety of wines to choose from at sixty vines. Loved the Cali Chicken Chop Salad and my friend loved her Fettuccini. The Spicy Sausage Pizza couldโve had more spice. Sophia was a awesome server and always made sure we were okay. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic ambiance with great service (shoutout to our waiter Ozzy for his fabulous service including help picking food and drink pairings). And good food: brussels, baked ricotta, and the spicy sausage pizza.

My husband and I met our friends for dinner. They were local and we were visiting from Florida. The ambiance was really nice and everything was delicious, including their homemade ricotta. I was impressed by the wine on tap-so cool.
Our friends got us one of their amazing candles and sadly my husband forgot it. I highly recommend checking them out.
Thanks for the great meal!
Fun time and good mussels
Some friends had a birthday lunch here for me. It was my first time here and I was the first to arrive.
The waiter on the first floor who greeted me ( well, sort of) sent me upstairs as we had a reservation. (I learned later the upstairs is for those with reservations and the downstairs more for walkins.)
You can take the stairs to the upstairs or an elevator. I chose stairs. Once on the second floor, the greeting was a bit sparse, but when I finally was directed to our table, all was good.
The upstairs has much more of a โvibeโ. Misty was our server and she was great. I had the mussels dish (advertised as a sharable), but I opted to make it my meal.
I will definitely be back with my spouse or friends.
Horrible Bar Experience
Extremely disappointed with the level of service we received last night at the bar. The bartender forgot to ring in our food, didn't check on us for about 30 min, when he did finally check in and asked how we were doing I said oh fine, just waiting on our food... it was then that he realized (what I had already) that he had forgot to ring in our food. After realizing this, he did not come and apologize, didn't come and tell us he forgot... in fact, he continued to ignore us! After about another 15 minutes (so now 45) and still no food, still no manager check in, still no bartender coming by, I was able to stop him to ask for water (they were empty, because again, being ignored) and I just asked him "hey you forgot our food huh?" to which he admitted that he did, and I said ok well why didn't you just tell us that?? You've ignored us instead, and that's unacceptable. Asked for the manager to come by (which should've happened immediately), he comes over and, I'm not kidding, makes excuses for the guy, and then says "well how can I make you happy then", in which I replied, I don't know how can you???. I was so excited to try this place, I have heard great things. It was a cute place.
The manager gave us each a glass of wine and took care of like $22 of food off our check... which wasn't even the entirety of the food we ordered that was FORGOTTEN AND TOOK AN HOUR TO GET.... let me repeat this... WE PAID FOR FOOD THAT TOOK AN HOUR TO RECEIVE BECAUSE THEY FORGOT IT!!!!!!!! The pizza came out cold, which I didn't bother mentioning, because at that point, there wasn't a point. I can't believe I paid for food that was lack luster and took an hour to receive. It'll take a lot to get me back to this place.
Pros - great wine selection, the burrata app was good but came with one piece of crostini, so not really great to share ha, decor, ambience
Cons - truly everything else. I can't believe the level of service was so poor, from the Bartender to the bar backs to the manager. 1/10 for service. 4/10 for food.
Oh PS, I still tipped this bartender well over 20% because I work in the service industry. So when I say service was poor, it was really really poor. Admit your wrong doing and take care of the guests. This place did neither.
Decent brunch
The restaurant is lovely and the food was very good. I was shocked that in a fairly empty restaurant we were seated directly next to another party. We also did not receive the fruit that should have come with our meal but didn't realize it until we saw another tables food being delivered.
Be the first to ReplyStaff worked hard to give me gluten free options
The wine selection is excellent. Sitting outdoors was comfortable, and both staff and passersby were friendly. This is a safe area, with plenty of shops and other eateries. It was cozy, fun, and the snacks Sixty Vines put together for me were tasty. (The menu is thin on gluten free selections.) The kitchen was a little slow, but I couldn't argue with the results. In a competitive market, it is doing well. I will return the next time I am near Rice Village.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Mimosa Bar!
Went here the first time with girlfriends in late November 2019 and then COVID hit in March so have not been back. We had reservations for upstairs and really enjoyed the restaurant and ambience. The only issue was that when I asked about cocktails, the server did not mention the Mimosa Bar (which Iโm guessing theyโre not doing now due to COVID). I was going to get a Frose, but then saw someone else with fruit in their drink and asked about it. Once they explained it to us, three in our party decided to get it. What a bargain! At that time, we paid $20 for a bottle of champagne which we shared. Once you pour your champagne, you go to the bar and add whatever variety of juices, flavored syrumps, and fresh fruit and berries that you want. You basically end up with a better, souped up version of a Sangria. We all LOVED it, so hope theyโre still doing this in some shape or form. We bought 2 bottles between the 3 of us. For food, we ordered 5 appetizers and a margharita pizza for the 4 of us to split. All were delicious. No problem with splitting the check between 4 people. Look forward to returning!

We went there last week when we were in Houston. Our server was very helpful. Our food was amazing! We will definitely go back!

Such a fun experience! The food and atmosphere was perfect. Our waiter, Tray, was awesome! So helpful and fun. It has become one of our new favorite places.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best happy hours (tappy hours) in Houstom
This is a great place to meet friends for a copa and truly delicious small dishes. Ask for Tappy Hour menu. There you will find wines on tap 1/2 price (recommend the red blend) and a small collection of sharable small dishes for $5.00. We tried the prime rib sliders, mushroom bites, and a great pizza -like delight with all sorts of good vegetables, artichoke hearts, and cheese. All totally wonderful. Good service and decor, and not overly noisy.
