SRV Boston Reviews from The Last Year
OMG what a meal.
Four of us let them bring a little of everything to the table. Dishes I might never order on my own. Each was better and better. Staff fantastic. Could hear my friends talking. Can't wait to return
Recently dined here and loved our experience.
The dining room and bar area were tastefully sleek and modern. To start we shared some great plates. The meatballs, Arancini, and prosciutto stood out. We really enjoyed the gnocchi, the short ribs, and the duck for mains. However, the sun choke risotto was extremely mushy and brothy, and I expected the flavor to be more diverse given the description. Another note for improvement was that our waitress was a bit overbearing, and not in an attentive way but in a weird, all-up in our business way. Nonetheless, we did have a great time and appreciated that the staff treated us to lemon cello shots for one of our guests birthday.
great time
we leave this superb restaurant that you cannot miss... everything is as if you were at a real Italian mama's (the aranchini were like my grandmother's, fine breadcrumbs and so tasty) our server was very friendly and gave us very good advice on the wine (Salcheto vino nobile from Montepulciano and Nero di Lupo), a sure value Great time; Thanks to the chef and the whole team
Wonderful Outing
We stopped In for dinner without a reservation and the staff made room for us at the bar. We shared the gnocchi and another pasta dish, plus gelato with honey for dessert, and everything was completely satisfactory. The staff could not have been more accommodating and the evening was the highlight of our trip.
Best of Boston
This has been our favorite restaurant in Boston for the last 6 years. We chose it for our 20th marriage anniversary this year. We ate from the Chef's menu. It was the best choice as expected. SRV bar is our place, it is our Thursday night place. We love the creativity of the cocktails, you simply ask for your favorite liquor and they create something to perfection. The seasonal menu changes too make everything fresh and exciting. There have many wonderful people over the years. Kristen, Marsha, Tiago, Hazel, Alex, , Daniel. Ryan(RIP), et al- thank you for always taking good care of us.
Really fun and tasty dinner! I sat at the row of moving bar
Really fun and tasty dinner! I sat at the row of moving bar stools which were a unique and comfortable place to sit, but while I was there I observed one person fall off a stool and a second person almost fell! So be careful on the moving bar stools or get a table if anyone in your group may be unsteady on a chair without a back! The arancini and the baccala mantecato were perfect small bites for two and the pasta dishes were well seasoned and so delicious! The negroni had a tasty apple flavor and the Venetian Spritz cocktail was also tasty, not as sweet as I would usually expect for an Aperol spritz.
I have tried it 3 or 4 times, the food was a disappointment
I have tried it 3 or 4 times, the food was a disappointment each time, not prepared well, not seasoned well or just no bueno. I might try one more time in case the chefs have changed, but not anytime soon.
This place had been recommended by several coworkers so I
This place had been recommended by several coworkers so I knew I had to check it out. I tried the sunchoke risotto (with meyer lemon, mustard greens, and robiola) which was very comforting and rich. The sunchoke chips on top gave it a great balance of textures. I also tried the stuffed paccheri with octopus, fennel, and tomato, which was also delicious and definitely on the lighter side compared to the risotto. I was lucky to snag some seats at the bar as a walk-in, but the restaurant did fill fast even on weekday nights so I would recommend reservations.
Lovely dinner and the environment was pretty quiet too.
The staff was very welcoming, Joe F. was an A+ server. Friendly, knowledgeable and really understood the unusual menu. Drinks were different but enjoyable. One thing that Joe had no control over was when to serve the ink pasta. I would have handled that differently, actually I probably wouldn’t have served it at all. It looks gross and it doesn’t taste much better than it looks but if it had to be served for whatever reason, it should have been the last entree. Deserts were some of the best that i have had. It was a lovely evening and we were happy we chose S|R|V for dinner that night. Thanks again Joe.
I've never had a great expert SRV.
It's been fine. The food is just fine. The service is fine. I've had more disappointing service at the bar as it seemed like the bartenders were annoyed to be asked questions about cocktails and such each time I've been there. I guess my overall impression of SRV is always MEH. It's not a place that I'd seek out to go but instead might grab a drink there if I'm having dinner some other place nearby.
Delicious food and nice people, but the portion sizes are
Delicious food and nice people, but the portion sizes are insane. $8 for 2 1x1 square inch bread pieces with some veggies? Get outta here.
Missed the mark overall
Was very excited to try but food missed the mark overall. I’m really surprised that SRV is ranked so high. It doesn’t deserve that. There are much better options available in Boston at similar price points. Between 6 of us we ordered a large percentage of the menu which was shared family style. The tiramisu was probably the only thing that all of us agreed was very good but I don’t pick restaurants based on dessert options. Overall very disappointing experience.
SRV is a solid spot for dinner if you're in the South End
SRV is a solid spot for dinner if you're in the South End area! We started off with delicious mocktails and the arancini. The arancini was good but definitely a small bite for two people. Our dinner consisted of the squid ink risotto and NY strip steak which were both delicious! Highly recommend ordering a risotto for dinner. Definitely save room for dessert because the apple tart we ordered was great. All our plates came out quick and our waiter was super attentive. Since we snagged a reservation a bit late, we had to take the counter spots which were a little awkward. If possible try to plan ahead of time so you can get a reservation at a table! Overall had a great experience and would definitely recommend.
I went to SRV in Boston yesterday and was thoroughly
I went to SRV in Boston yesterday and was thoroughly impressed by their level of professionalism and thoughtfulness. Our server, Manuel, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and after hearing about our food allergies and sensitivity, double checked with the chef, came back to us with a marked menu, and gave us plenty of time to decide what to order. Every single time someone brought a dish to the table they reiterated that certain ingredients were removed or set to the side. I have never felt so accommodated. The dishes are creative and delicious too. Highly recommend checking it out!! My favorite was the earl grey lavender honeycomb ice cream. They really nailed it!!
SRV is amazing every time.
maybe I am bias because my sister has worked here for some years but I truly always am blown away every time. this visit was on NYE with my boyfriend and it was perfect. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and getting to know the servers and bartenders. everyone is great! the drinks are incredible and the food even better. I could eat 12 plates of prosciutto. ILY SRV!
A perfect homage to Venetian cuisine and gourmet talent
Our first time and we could not have been more impressed. It began with our walk in the door and the kind way we were greeted and seated. We were blessed to be waited on by Ying who expertly introduced us to the menu, cocktails, and wines. We began with the scallops crudo which were fresh, creamy, and light at the same time with hints of olive oil, lemon, and white radish. We followed it with their smoked trout; two beautiful filets perfectly moist and lightly smoked then toasted on one side. And by the way, their bread, as a stand-alone, was delicious and perfect to get every drop of sauce. Our entrees, the pasta with homemade sausage and the pasta with shrimp were elegant and portioned perfectly. We enjoyed a phenomenal dessert of a simple, homemade, and remarkable chocolate biscotti with expresso cream, along with limoncellos, also homemade. Simply one of the best meals we have had in a long time, and it uniquely captured the very unique nature of Italian cuisine from Venice. We will visit every time we are in Boston.
Optimal
Good restaurant with very helpful staff and dishes which overall were excellent. right portions, slightly high bill.
Would recommend the tasting menu
We went for the tasting menu, six dishes if I remember it correctly and it was all delicious and worth the money. Great ambience too

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
