Not only was our experience great, but the food was outstanding. We came to dinner with our two young kids and our waiter was very accommodating with our two picky eaters. Can't wait to try again when we come back into town!

Drinks were very good, but the filet was burnt and not cooked to order. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant, but the steak and lobster bisque were not good. The service for that price point was poor.

Be the first to ReplyI came to Steak 954 to celebrate a relative's birthday.
Steak 954 is located inside the W hotel in Fort Lauderdale. When we walked in, we were promptly greeted by the hostess, who was very nice and took us to our reserved area. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. The decor gives off a dark romantic evening look. Also, you have a view of the beach from the window. Plus, I was in love with the jellyfish tank that they had in the entrance of the restaurant. After being seated, we met our waiter, who was very nice, accommodating, and very knowledgeable of the menu. He handled our large party very well all by himself. We ordered a plethora of items, such as the cheesesteak sandwich, salmon, crab cake, Wagyu sliders, Wagyu steak, porterhouse steak and many sides. Everything tasted amazing. The tenderness and flavor of all the steaks were great! The sides we ordered paired very well with our entrées. My favorite was the porterhouse steak with the chopped salad; the steak was cooked to my liking, and very tender to where my knife just glided through the steak. Also the chopped salad was very filling, and the dressing paired well with the vegetables in the salad. With this restaurant being a steakhouse, it is a little pricey, but it is worth it.

Be the first to ReplyMost likely the best steakhouse on the beach but not sure
Most likely the best steakhouse on the beach but not sure the prices are justified based on my experience with the 22 ounce ribeye steak and the service. I know this place gets very busy, but my steak are was so chargrilled that I had to send it back. I then had to wait over 20 minutes for the new order. I did get a free glass of wine. The hamachi crudo was tasty and would definitely order this dish again.

In the busy W Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Steak 954 has a great reputation as a premier steak house. On my first visit it was certainly busy but the most outstanding memory of the evening was the fantastic, friendly and attentive service. For me the steak was overcooked and I think the same was true for everyone at the table - but we all ate them. Appetizers were tasty, the vegetables were fresh and the desserts impressive. It is a noisy restaurant but it is an active hotel so maybe that is the plan.

I have dined at Steak 954 previously and of course a Ribeye was ordered. On this occasion Feb19th, we had Bronzino. The fish was boring. There was no flavor just a steamed fish. Our appetizers were delicious. Enrique was excellent very attentive and knowledgeable! The music selection is horrible, Steven Starr please allow Gary to curate the music. He knows what works.Gary/ GM was of course great, he is such a class act.I hope on my next dining experience the music will be the right music and the fish will have flavor! My guest and I ordered fish and had the same thought.... Boring Bronzino!!!

So let me start by saying I waited 4 days for the restaurant to contact me regarding our visit Friday 2/17 before deciding to make this review..On Friday my wife took me here for my 30th birthday dinner as a surprise. Everything started great beautiful place and nice staff. Everything was good having up until the entrées came. I began to eat and out of nowhere I feel a sharp excruciating pain in my finger. The fork had flacked off or corroded off into my finger and I was pierced by a sharp metal flake that lodged itself into my finger and I began bleeding. The first manager that approached us we explained and showed him what was going on. He proceeded to grab the fork and look at it and shrugged his shoulders. Not seeing the issue yet I'm sitting there bleeding with a piece of metal protruding from my finger. I asked to speak to the gm who intern contacted the on-site first aid person for the hotel. He was very kind and gave me some tweezers to pull out the metal skewer in my finger. I filled out an incident report and they said that they would be contacting me about the incident. It has now been four days and no one has contacted me. I realize now I should have kept the fork that they took away immediately, after about 30 minutes the skewers out of me my finger is bandaged and we try to proceed to dinner but now I have no fork. It is a good 20 minutes before the waitress comes back and realized I don't have a fork by this point, the dinners ruined, and we just wanted to leave the gm comped our meals that was kind of him other then that this has to be the craziest dinner experiences of my life check out the pictures the video I cannot post for some reason yelp only allows pictures

Happy date night to US! My MIL bought hubby and I a gift card for STARS restaurants. We decided to use the card at Steak 954 for a Valentines Day dinner. All of the food we had here was lovely. We went on a Friday evening and it was a little loud for it to be a romantic evening - but still pleased. We had the seafood platter for two as starters. Oysters, tuna, lobster, crab legs - all pure PERFECTION if you could afford it (we only could because of gift card). We then did the 32oz rib eye and mashed with creamed spinach. It was all good but too heavy for me. I know this is a steak house but next time I would probably go for the branzino. Sky was our server - NYer like us - yay! She was excellent of course! For dessert I had a cappuccino and we shared the crème brûlée - it did not disappoint. It was not an average créeme brûlée - it was SPECTACULAR. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyIt is a nice restaurant but he food was too salty.
The meat is high quality but you mostly taste the salt.

Went here for dinner with some friends that were from out of town. We arrived a half hour early for our reservations so we sat at at the bar. Our bartender was Rich. He was great, made us feel welcome and was very friendly and made some great drinks for us, set the night off great for us. The meal was amazing. I had the filet and It was cooked perfectly. Great experience. Will definitely be back.

This was the best steak I have ever had in South Florida! Make sure you make reservations or it's a 2 hour waiting list! I learned the hard way lol. The potatoes were rich and cheesy and the spinach was creamy. The service was GREAT thank you Rosa was AMAZING!! Awesome dining experience overall!!!
Be the first to ReplyAwesome place.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Excellent Steak. Jellyfish tank is awesome. Need to add some additional Appetizers in my opinion. But very very good.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good but the setting as in the restaurant
The food was good but the setting as in the restaurant itself is bad. The lighting is horrible. The walls. The tables. The chairs all felt very cheap. Outback feels fancier.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing steak and fish too.
It's pricey though. Extensive wine list. Split the salad. Sides are just ok. Order cookies or soufflé in advance.

Below is the email I sent prior to submitting to yelp, as I wanted to give the restaurant the opportunity to address prior to sharing in public. It's been two weeks and no response. Hi there,my friend and I joined Steak 954 for lunch yesterday and had the most interesting experience. And when I say interesting I mean degrading, snobby, and condescending. And I get it we are all short staffedwhich is why I am writing here and not blasting you on yelp.Note we were greeted by Jarred, (sp) who was lovely, and even checked on us during our meal....Jarred walked us to the hostess stand and went back to his tables, and I asked if we could join for lunch, the hostess literally looked us up and down and said she would help us after those with reservations wereseated. Understandable but the extra commentary and snobbiness was over the top.If beach gear is frowned upon, you guys should really have a sign posted, I live in the neighborhood, and myfriend is a pro surfer who looks like a pro surfer. We had shirts and shoes and looked similar to half of the otherguests in the restaurant. The waiter too was a bit snotty, but efficient enough I guess. We ordered a ribeye, lobster and grits, and crabavocado toast. Well our toast was missing the crab, so I waited to ask him, and he questioned me as if I wasmaking something up, then comes the hostess and she too asks if we are sure there is no crab on the toast. She did make a peace offering and gifted us with a nice serving of crab to make up for the mistake, but it was justa very unpleasant experience. The sad thing is my friend is a very successful business man and always tips 50%of the bill. Which I did not allow him to do as we literally had to joke our way through the meal to make up for howwe were treated by the staff! We live in the neighborhood and have never been treated with anything but kindness from S3, Lona, and Coconutswhich we frequent once or twice a week. You guys really should not judge a book by its cover, as it was mid day ona weekend so most were in beach gear. Regardless, most fine dining places don't judge me when I walk in in myworkout gear at dinner either. Please do better!
Be the first to ReplyThe set up and view here is nice! But was a very bad choice
The set up and view here is nice! But was a very bad choice for Valentine's dinner. Guest next to us was very rude/loud/ obnoxious and plainly disrespectful towards themselves and our guest. We talked to manager and server about this and to me nothing was done. Didn't even get the option to move.. server said "they should be leaving soon". To top it off my steak was sent out rare after I asked for media well. It was pink from top to bottom and blood running.. server had it recooked. After saying. " It's supposed to be pink in middle". Lmao... Combination of rude guest and poor service ended the not with a $300 to go box meal!! Not impressed
Be the first to ReplyWOW WOW and WOW again.
I am completely blown away by Steak 954. I guess you can say I'm a little late to the party on this place, but better late than never, right? Making a reservation is highly recommended. The process was pretty easy, either you can make it online or you can call them directly and make it; given if there's availability. Otherwise, if you walk in without one, expect to wait. We made a reservation for two on a Saturday night. We found street parking, walked in and literally sat right down. I'm not sure if they validate valet parking, but I would be surprised if they didn't. I was amazed at the decor and the overall atmosphere of this place. Simple yet elegant with a very laid back tone. The jellyfish is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen and definitely one a kind. The view of the water is beautiful, too. Such a beautiful location with an even better ambiance too. Our waiter was outstanding. Kind, funny, attentive and absolutely paid attention to detail. He was knowledgeable of the menu in its entirety and exactly how each item was cooked down to the ingredients and seasoning that makes it special. He was also very knowledgeable of how the steaks are dry aged. I was debating about either the filet or the ribeye, and his recommendation steered me in the right direction. For appetizers we ordered the lobster bisque and the Caesar salad, and the portions are big so if you ask they can split them into two plates for you. Our waiter offered to do this, which was very accommodating and appreciated. The lobster bisque was okay, nothing worth remembering but I enjoyed the Caesar salad. But you can't really mess that up. For drinks, I ordered the house red and my boyfriend an old fashioned - the red wine was exceptional. I actually keep meaning to call them and ask them what that house red is because it was my favorite house red I've had at a restaurant. You bet I ordered the dry aged bone-in ribeye, as well as my boyfriend. For sides we got the bacon macaroni and cheese and the whipped potatoes. For the steak, I've never had anything as delicious as this in my life. The dry aged really gives it that exceptional flavor you can only ask for in a steak. It was cooked to absolute perfection and I savored every bite. If you are not a big volume eater, then this can easily be split with someone else. I decided to be selfish and wanted it all for myself :) My boyfriend enjoyed his steak too and agreed that the dry aged is a one of a kind flavor and definitely worth it. For the sides: the macaroni and cheese was creamy and flavorful and the second best thing I had that night. I really did not like the whipped potatoes as it had a type of cheese that wasn't compatible with my palette, but my boyfriend thought it was good. I think it's an acquired taste. Either you would like it or you don't. It's worth mentioning that the sides are generous in portion, as well. Just one side would be good because we didn't finish either. Our waiter had suggested a vegetable side, which in hindsight probably would've been the best option but that bacon macaroni and cheese is worth it. Easily the best mac and cheese I've had. For dessert: We ordered the Chocolate Soufflé and the freshly baked cookies to go. The chocolate soufflé was outrageous. Warm rich chocolate with savory ice cream--what could be better than that? The cookies, for sure. The cookies were gooey, warm and just delicious. The flavors were chocolate chip, oatmeal, and double chocolate. YUM. We brought them home to family and they literally ate them all up. The oatmeal was my favorite. All in all, we absolutely loved our meals and the experience here. From the drinks to the dessert, everything exceeded all of our expectations and not to mention that the service and atmosphere here is one of a kind. Do NOT come here on a budget and pinching pennies, splurge on the fine experience and enjoy yourself. I promise you will not regret it. I can't wait to come back and try that filet :)
