GREAT SERVICE ! GREAT FOOD ! !
This is our usual spot when we are in town, we have never been disappointed. We have never had a bad dish no matter what we pick.

We had play tickets in Palm Springs & wanted to eat well before heading to the theatre. Talay Thai turned out to be the perfect choice! We were greeted warmly & seated very quickly. Our waiter (wore gloves and a mask at all times) quickly came to our table to take drink and appetizer orders. The crab rangoon was the best we have ever had - nice presentation & very flavorful!
We both chose the chicken in orange sauce - served with broccoli and white rice. (They offer 5 levels of spice - our waiter helped us make the right choice for our taste!) Everything arrived piping hot and the flavor was outstanding! (Very generous portions - could easily have saved some for a later treat if we didn't have theatre plans!)
This restaurant seems to have a loyal following among local residents - friendly supporters who didn't mind being asked questions about the dishes they had chosen. Everything was presented very nicely in an appetizing manner. (Wish we lived in the area - would definitely become regulars here, too!) Our server was very professional & most attentive. Great experience - not rushed at all & made the theatre in time, too!
Outstanding food and outstanding
Outstanding food and outstanding service. We especially enjoyed the bbq chicken with the yellow curry and the steamed dumplings! Also a plus that we were able to enjoy wine, beer or a cocktail with our meal instead of the usual teas, sodas that were only offered at other Thai restaurants. We will be back next time we visit the area!

We were staying at an Air BnB near by and had cravings for Thai food after a long day in the pool. It’s my first time having Thai food in this desert region, but figured that its hard to go wrong with Thai food.
The chicken satay were fine, but the Som Tom (papaya salad) lacked flavor. After a couple of bites, it was clear that the the dish really lacked fish sauce. I’m not sure if they went light on (or skipped) this main ingredient because of the clientele in this area, but a papaya salad isn’t really a papaya salad with out fish sauce.
We ordered a few entrees: Pad See Ew, Pad Kee-Moew, and Pad Ma-Kua Mong. These are the usual dishes I order whenever I’m having Thai no matter if I’m in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco or in Bangkok.
The noodles in both noodle dishes were a bit old, as they lacked the softness of fresh rice noodles. And like the papaya salad, the noodle dishes also lacked fish sauce and veered on the bland side. The Pad Ma-Kua Mong was okay, but lacking in flavor as well. This was a universal agreement amongst our group that shared all these dishes.
I was torn about leaving this review as I wasn’t sure if the lack of flavor (primarily fish sauce) was an issue with the cooks or due to the restaurant having to alter the traditional recipes to cater to the clientele of the desert region around them. I sat on this for a couple of weeks and decided to post my review as it is an honest review and perhaps the restaurant can see that there are other customers that know what these Thai dishes should taste like and expect them to be cooked the traditional way.
Unbelievable Thai Cuisine!
The food is excellent and the service is top notch. My husband and I shared a bowl of the Tom Yum soup and a Thai Red Curry with beef. Both were spiced perfectly and the beef was surprisingly very tender. I’ve eaten in many Thai restaurants in the past but this one scores an A+ for me! If you want a good, clean, authentic Thai experience, do yourself a favour and check out Thai Talay!

Service, food, drinks all very well prepared, even for Vegetarians. Also, prices reasonable. Highly recommend.

One of the best Thai meals we have ever had. Had pad thai and massaman curry chicken. Took takeout back to hotel and no flavor was lost..

After a number of trips to Rancho Mirage, we have tried a few Thai restaurants in the area. This one is the best we’ve found. There are a few standard Thai items that they don’t have on the menu but what they do have seems very good.
We have the green curry and drunken noodles. Both were very good. My wife would have liked scrambled egg in the noodles but they were great without them.
I love the Thai chilies in fish-sauce as a condiment and really have to hand it to Talay for their attention to the details by adding finely sliced shallots to the mix. It was exceptional and added a great sweetness that I loved.
Awesome Thai food
We ordered orange chicken, green curry, Tom Kha soup and pad kee Moew noodle. If you are spicy food lover then ask for spicy sauce.
We loved food and it’s worth revisit.
Best Thai Food!
We make a point of stopping here every time we go to Palm Springs. The red curry is amazing the fried fish and the pad thai are also rock star of the meal. Absolutely worth a visit! Staff is friendly and excellent service. Try the Prig nam pla for an extra kick ( very spicy).
