Kicked me out and accused me of being another drunk girl throwing up in the bathroom. Humiliated me and then told me to leave -10/10 if I could give it.

Bar has a "vip" line where they consistently prioritize friends of the bouncer and leave a long line willingly paying patrons. They should learn their lesson, do not give them your business.
Be the first to ReplyI came here on a week night.
The staff is super friendly and very attentive. The tavern feels like a sports bar that's been toned down in good taste. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken breast was juicy but the sandwich needed more sauce or a salty component but the fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Their drink selection is pretty good and they have $5 hard seltzer cans. I will come back once construction is complete outside.

Food and beers were good! Staff was crazy friendly and efficient. I'm not a big bar goer but this was nice, plus you're right near the beach so there is plenty to walk around and see if it gets too hectic for you during game day or happy hour. I

I used to go here all the time and stopped in for a beer with a friend ... $21.50 for two IPAs. That's wild. I would recommend going to Tap Room instead. Better selection and not so expensive. Depends what you're looking for but more than $10 for a beer is not reasonable for any atmosphere in PB.

Came here after doing some foodie tour with my friends to end the night. Vibes are great, drinks were great. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and interested in the trivia going on.
Be the first to ReplyOverall - Great burgers.
I really have enjoyed the number 1 but veered to off that path last time and wasn't blown away but pretty good nonetheless.. also prices bit high these days at above 20 after tax just be prepared for that. Caught me off guard.. Oddly.. burgers are less in CA
Be the first to ReplyThe service was poor.
The bartender didn't know how to make a simple drink. A Roy Rogers... Coke & Grenadine and Cherries. Not only she did not know, she faked it. She added Vodka. All it takes is to ask or look it up... This is a kids drink! You NEVER EVER add any alcohol period... And considering that I'm an on duty Uber Driver, there's a reason why I asked for this. Now I've lost time off work. Having alcohol on your breath while driving is a career ender. Mistake or not it doesn't matter...
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to visit in the Pacific Beach area for some
Great place to visit in the Pacific Beach area for some drinks and bar food! Staff is very friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and some mahi-mahi bites with fries. The mahi-mahi bites were tender and delicious and they give you quite a lot for one order. They were also fried to a perfect crisp. I heard they also have grilled mahi-mahi bites which I definitely have to try the next time. It came with fries and they were also delicious, crisp and seasoned very well. I can't forget about the tartar sauce. It looked like it was made fresh and was very tasty. We started eating right away and forgot to take a picture, there were many more mahi bites than you see in the picture. The ambience was very relaxing and they have tons of seating around the bar and away from the bar. The bar is really cool as it is an oval shaped bar with seating all around.
Be the first to ReplyCame here yesterday to catch a football game.
Bartenders were great! Super friendly & attentive!

I went in earlier this afternoon and ordered a Parmesan Chicken sandwich. The food was good. I requested a Roy Rogers, no ice. I got the drink and took a sip. There's a serious issue... She added Vodka... Apparently she didn't know? Or she was hired yesterday? Roy Rogers or Shirley Temple should never have any alcohol period. Bartender's should know this. If not, asking won't hurt...

Love this place but they need to fix this TV lag!! 7 seconds difference between them playing the game game! People start cheering and we have no idea why!!!If you want to be a sports bar, you need to do a decent job showing the sports and this just isn't acceptable. Patriots game last week too. I'll update the review when they fix this but I can't believe management thinks this is "OK".

The security guards here are racist and they body-shamed me. You guys should really close this place down

Be the first to ReplyAlways come here whenever the game is on.
The food is decent and the alcohol selection is pretty vast. Great atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyWaitress was kinda unattentive.
Came for the UFC fight so I get it they were busy. Food took about 30-45 mins to come out (fries and pretzels). They messed up my drink order but didn't want to complain. Picture of Tajín rim marg (spicy marg) that was supposed to just be a regular marg with a Tajín rim.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is awesome.
Amazing apps, great atmosphere and people, and they love Boston
Be the first to ReplyTav is my favorite sports bar in Pacific Beach, hands down.
No matter how busy it gets, the friendly staff and quick service doesn't disappoint. My favorite time here was on Super Bowl Sunday since there was a special menu and raffle. The nachos were insane and the spinach and artichoke dip is always a hit. Don't be afraid to order the chicken tenders and fries as an adult - they are honestly top tier. Definitely recommend for a fantastic time with friends!
Be the first to ReplyTried coming here with high hopes.
Unfortunately, this was immediately shut down. At the door and the bouncer who told me his name was juan made me feel extremely uncomfortable and told me along with my 3 friends we couldn't come in. Would not explain his reasoning, but said no and then continued to look us up and down. We hadn't had a drink and i'm not sure what exactly the problem was. He wouldn't tell us. What a let down as I was excited to come in and try this place out. I hope that moving forward they hire better bouncers!! Would not recommend due to the awful bouncer.
Be the first to ReplyA year ago we broke up with Tavern at the Beach.
That visit a year ago we were treated to a two-star experience. Two stars no more! Tavern at the Beach we have reconciled! Reunited and it feels so good!We had some friends visiting from out of town and they were staying at Campland on the Bay. We were hungry for lunch and wanted a spot that we could bicycle to. We checked the Tavern menu online and found it to be a regular, non-brunch menu. Score! The four of us biked over and sat on the hook of the bar. We were greeted by the sweet and lovely Kasi (pronounced like KC). Kasi was super cute, friendly and funny. And she kept our drinks filled! We started with an order of the Shark Bites (fried mahi nuggets served with fries and housemade tarter sauce). Basically a mini fish 'n chips and they were delicious. Little chunks of mahi lightly breaded and fried perfectly. Nice and crispy, not at all greasy. And plentiful! There must've been a dozen in the basket. The housemade tarter sauce was excellent. The fries were excellent too. Be sure to ask for malt vinegar too!Becky and our friend both ordered the Tavern Burger (beef patty, American cheese, diced red onion, pickles with garlic aioli on a brioche bun) and they both loved it. In fact Becky ate the entire burger. Typically I will get half of her hamburger. Not this time! Our friend ordered a side of fries with his burger and he loved them as wellOur friend's wife ordered the Cali Club flatbread. Topped with diced chicken, bacon, avocado, bell pepper, red onion, mozzarella cheese, jalapeno ranch drizzle and cilantro. She loved it.I had the Fish Sando and it was terrific! I chose to have my mahi grilled rather than fried. It was cooked perfectly and topped with a creamy slaw, American cheese, pickles, malt vinegar aioli all nestled in a fantastic brioche bun. The slaw, pickles and wonderful aioli brought the whole thing together. Such a great alternative to a hamburger. Really, really good. Thank you Tavern at the Beach for the excellent menu. Thank you Kasi for the excellent service! You're back! And so are we!
