Thai House Express Restaurant San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year

AMAZING FOOD! I wanted to order something healthy and quick on my lunch break. The food got here in a timely manner and it could not be more delicious! It's also full of flavor. I don't understand some of these comments. They deserve way more credit and I highly recommend!!!
Pros Amazing food!! Very Friendly service.
Clean kitchen and restrooms Great menu selection Quick turnaround on food items Cons Music loud / unbalanced speaker Playlist could be different
Still really love this restaurant, but it's unfortunately
Still really love this restaurant, but it's unfortunately gonna have to be more of a special occasion place for me than a regular go-to now as the prices are way above market. I just paid $25.15 for a very tiny container of red curry - with NO rice or anything else with that order. I know San Francisco is a very expensive place and it's so understandable that they need to pull a profit. It's so hard for restaurants these days, I totally understand, But unfortunately, the curry was over-spiced too so I didn't really enjoy it. I will be back for the peanut sauce tofu which is always perfect and a little bit more substantial for the price.
Food is great, servers are nice, and vibes are chill.
I love having this right in the Castro. I mean look at this Beef Pra-Ram!
Very clean place.
I got exactly what I wanted, guys did outmost to serve me a soup with seafood, which was not on the menu. But they did it!
Probably the most flavorless Thai food I have ever had.
Which wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't so expensive compared to other better Thai restaurants. The chicken fried rice is BLEAK. So pale and lacking any taste.

I had the Thai house steak with rice & it was SO GOOD! I definitely feel like it was well worth the $20, it was super quiet in the restaurant which was nice. The waiters were super friendly
Food was delicious.
Arrived at home quickly and very hot. Nice surprise. Prices were/are too high. $90 for three dishes. Ouch.

Regrettably, my experience at Thai House Express was less than pleasant. Soon after consuming the meal, I found myself feeling ill, which eventually led to an uncomfortable bout of sickness. While I cannot definitively state the cause, I felt it important to share my experience for the consideration of future patrons.
Insanely overpriced.
Always was, but now it's nuts - we dropped $95 before tip for two - with no beers! Food is consistently under-seasoned. Staff is friendly, though.

Consistently good food! I recommend the chicken saté, the money bags, and the corn fritters. Their peanut sauce is the best! They are fast and friendly. But even though the hours say they close at 9pm, beware! They stop seating at 8:30.
This is a great Thai restaurant in the Castro.
The food was excellent. I had lemongrass soup and panang curry while my date had garden rolls and salmon curry, all very good. The service was quick and attentive. The seating area is not very big but it's a good ambience.
Great affordable Thai food
Great food and service. The papaya salad is always excellent. I love the chicken satay and the sticky rice too. The salmon in banana leaf is also great.
Thai House Express on Castro is awful and they don't care about you or the quality of their food!
I wanted to try a new place for Thai take out. I have previously supported this restaurant and have only eaten onsite, never had take out, but today was a whole different experience. I ordered 3 dishes to go and when I got home, I was serving up the Yellow Curry with Chicken. The pieces of potatoes and chicken were quite large, so I started cutting up the pieces into digestible pieces. When I cut into the chicken, it was raw, uncooked, only masked by the curry it was served in. I called up the restaurant and told them about the under cooked poultry. They said to bring it back and they would prepare a replacement. So, I get in my car, drive back to the restaurant with the undercooked food, (which includes finding parking, and if you'be been to SF you know that's a challenge in itself) only to be told by the 'manager' (who clearly has no customer experience), that they do not accept returns, do not remake dishes, and do not offer refunds. So if your undercooked food is a problem for you, they will let you know it's not their problem and will take no responsibility in rectifying it, which to me means "Buyer Beware" and "We don't stand by the quality or safety of our food". So all I'm saying is that I will never go there again, will tell all my friends (and I've lived here for 30+ years), and tell all guests to our fantastic city to avoid this place. Go to Osha Thai or even Thai House 2 in the lower haight. Thai house express on Castro is awful on so many levels. Do Not Go!

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
