Xnt SLC Restaurant open all day
I always try and stay at Little America hotel when in SLC. I find it nicer and more comfortable than the Grand America across the street. After dozens of stays here, I still find Little America's Coffee Shop restaurant xnt in terms of food quality and quantity, altho' it's getting more expensive - but so is everything. Have eaten their Caesar salad which has one of the best dressings ever, the Turkey Dinner is like Xmas or Thanksgiving any time of the year, the breakfast Eggs Benedict, omelettes and pancakes are all very good. Service is usually fast and very good. They also have daily specials. I recall the Chicken Pot Pie which was so large I almost couldn't finish it. My only wish is that they offer a meat loaf, as they do not.

A decent breakfast with some good features. The coffee is strong, the European is perfection, Avocado toast was not ripe or prepared well. The waffle with fresh fruit was for the sweet tooth in the family. Very good, but one bite is a lot for the average person. Homemade whip cream. The service both mornings was very good. Katelyn was a breath of fresh air. Tab for 3 was $92 for 2 was $45.

Had a poor dinner experience at the Coffee Shop at Little America. Food was mediocre at best and that is probably being a bit generous. I don't know if they force servers to not write down the orders but our server couldn't have made more mistakes on our order. If I'm at a five-star restaurant I don't have concerns with a server taking orders by memory but not in a coffee shop it is unecessary and candidly above their ability. Chicken fried steak looks good but once you bite in you wonder if it's really steak at all or just come frozen processed meat like substance. Not good. Sides were bland to poor. Patty melt was just okay. My daughter ordered a NY strip but it didn't come out with any seasoning or the herbed butter that was supposed to be melted on top. Fish was bland as well. They may have actually cooked any natural flavor out of it. But, bland was a win for this place. While it is convenient if you are staying at Little America after a long day's drive as we were, it's not worth it. Very expensive for what they serve and not worth it. If you like large portions of bland food then this is the place for you. If not, I recommend trying somewhere else.

Mouth-watering deliciousness oozed from the plate full of fresh berries! Orange juice in a large glass - yes please. All the elements of fine dining! And I didn't have to lift a finger! Perfect way to celebrate me!!

This place is one of my favorites. Coffee Shop is kind of a funny name, this is a full service restaurant with great food and high quality service. They even validated our parking and gave us a 10% off coupon for the gift shop.

Wow wow wow! A must try! We will be returning! Service was great! We ordered an appetizer of a homemade breakfast donut to split - was good! Then we ordered a sweet and savory dish and we each ate half. The mountain man casserole and the Belgian waffle - both are a must try! Waffle was light and fluffy. The homemade whip cream was delicious on top. Mountain man casserole was a hearty portion with good seasoning and flavor. We added a side of “smoked” sausage - skip that.

The food is very good and there is a wide variety on the menu. The wait staff are always friendly and attentive.

Don't let the name fool you, it's a restaurant. Okay, there is a counter to sit at if you want, but in terms of menus selection and quality it is a full service restaurant. Had both dinner and breakfast there, both were fine. Service was good, triggering the holidays and with the now common staff shortage, it could have been better.
Be the first to ReplyOnly disappointment was the food.
I started going to Little America about 1970. Later I worked near there enjoyed many excellent meals , businss lunches and buffets there. However, things changed after the Grand was built across the street. This week I stopped in the coffee shop for lunch for the first time in over 10 years and here is what I exprienced. The facility is very light, roomy and most plesant. The service was excellent, as expected. The tables were nicely decorated and the silverware was 18/10 Onieda silver, not the flimsy stuff used by most restaurants in today's casual world. When the food was served, it looked like a mouth watering food ad and they didn't skimp on beautiful golden fries or sandwich ingredients. The Club Sandwich was stacked high with turkey, ham, cheese, bacon, lettace and tomato and looked delicious. Now the downside. The beautiful fries had a different repelling flavor likely from the oil they were fried in. Some were saturated in oil and the offensive flavor really came through. Now for the sandwich: the tomato was on the green side and added nothing but a little color to the sandwich. The generous portion of turkey had a good flavor but the ham did not taste like regular ham and flavor was grossly lacking. The bacon was cooked to the point where it was extremely crisp and broke into pieces. It was cooked to the point where it no longer tasted like bacon and detracted rather than added to the sandwich flavor. The cheese was almost tastless and again added little but color to the sandwich. In short, this beautiful sandwich was bland and all show with little flavor. It would be great for an ad, just not for eating. My spouse ordered a blt . She loves fries and normally devours them first. This time she only picked at a few because of the taste. The bacon and tomato on her sandwich were the same as on the club. She ate less than half of it before stating it was not worth eating. When comparing this meal with those of past years, this lunch was grossly disappointing. due to the bland taste I am absolutel stunned that this food was actually sered at Little America.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible coffee!
Went here to get carry-out for dinner with colleagues. Two of us have gluten allergies and the staff did not seem to be very clear on what gluten is, so that left us feeling a little uncertain about what we would be getting. I ended up ordering a salad which was decent enough, but not worth what I paid for it. I also ordered a decaf coffee, as it was evening and didn’t want to stay up all night. A friend warned me their coffee was terrible, but I thought maybe it was just a fluke thing when she went. I took a sip and knew right away I would not be able to drink it! It tasted burned and like it had been sitting in the pot since 6am. I threw it out because I couldn’t drink it. And the worst thing is, this terrible cup of black coffee cost $4! What the heck?! So there was $4 thrown away. Another terrible thing is that they add on an 18% fee for takeout. What?! So my salad and terrible coffee ended up costing me $30! Ridiculous.

We were staying at this classy hotel and ate lunch in their coffee shop. Wife had the Reuben sandwich and I had a cup of chicken noodle soup and the hot REAL turkey sandwich. All was excellent!! Our server was Marvic and was very efficient and professional. Friendly too! Suggest that you look at the historical black and white photos on all the walls. This coffee shop was well worth finding it!
Be the first to ReplyReally great lunch stop
We arrived in SLC after a really early morning flight from the east coast. I was a little worried that it wasn't exactly a normal meal time, but our stomachs said we needed lunch. My husband knew about this little spot so we stopped in and had a very early lunch. It was great because those of us who like breakfast could eat breakfast and he could have lunch food. Very good service and a great spot. They even validated our parking pass so we didn't have to pay to park there at the hotel.
Be the first to ReplyJeanne To The Rescue!
Our visit didn’t start off on a positive note. We sat at the counter and were ignored for over 20 min with dirty dishes in front of us. 3 or 4 different people walked past us dozens of times without a word or even eye contact. They were clearly very understaffed (as it seems everyone is these days). Jeanne showed up and turned a sure 2 into a solid 5 owl turds. She was purely amazing. It was a total 45 minutes before we got our food but all was ok. Jeanne was an octopus behind the counter. Making coffee, serving coffee, taking orders, serving food, busing the counter, filling water glasses… Then there is the food: incredible. We got the Wasatch Mountain Man and the Chuck Wagon. The pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The prices are a little steep for breakfast but it’s sooooo good. The true mark is if a patron returns after their visit. We WILL be back. #becausejeanne

I don't usually eat in hotel restaurants but due to the late hour and poor weather we decided to give it a try. Menu was big and varied. My salad was great. The complimentary rolls were excellent (and seconds were brought with a smile). Service good and atmosphere was lovely.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service
Both the food and service were outstanding, but be aware it is pricey. If you are staying the Little America hotel is is the best option for a meal.
Be the first to ReplyGood, Old Fashioned Food
The food at the Coffee Shop was good quality, well-prepared, and nicely presented but it's definitely old-fashion. The typical dinner starts with a big, fluffy dinner roll and butter. The salad is very old style...iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots and a wedge of tomato. The entre comes with vegetables (usually broccoli and carrots. And you get ice cream for dessert. When you leave you feel stuffed. Breakfasts were similarly old-fashion and very filling. We enjoyed our meals here but don't think you'd want to eat here more than once or twice during your stay (unless you're trying to gain some weight).
