Great atmosphere
Traditional Irish bar in Downtown Manhattan, really worth a visit .Met Jack the owner who bought us Irish coffees they were so good, definitely worth a visit.Staff are lovely really friendly especially Annabelle I think her name was.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype
Not worth the hype. Overpromised and did not deliver. Drinks are good, as they should be for the price. Food is awful, service is poor and disingenuous. Booked for a special occasion when visiting from Ireland. Had previously seen a lot of PR about it. The waitress we had did not seem to understand the idea of starter followed by a main as we got both together. Parts of meal such as stuffing and gravy were awful. I was honest in my feedback about the food and the MD did contact me with an apology, which was nice. I was offered some free merchandise but it never materialised (this appears to be the fault of the pr company, who just never bothered to reply on any follow-up). Hopefully the issues I raised will be looked into to improve someone else's experience. Good Luck with your future ventures.
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant bar
This is a fantastic spot in lower Manhattan, so glad we booked a table as it was very busy. Service was great and food of great quality too.
Be the first to ReplyFestive cocktails
Great festive cocktails. Very nice vibe. I was expecting more Christmas decorations as their jingle jangle thing was highly rated. There was a lot of nice decorations but it wasnโt OTT. The booking system was excellent
Be the first to ReplyBest Christmas Bar
Outstanding Christmas bar with absolutely wonderful cocktails. Our experience was elevated 10x thanks to our waitress Michelle who was so much fun, so kind to us, and had the best recommendations personalized to each of our tastes. 10/10 would come again (as long as we're still in Michelle's section)
Be the first to ReplyFantastic pint of Guinness
Really great pub in downtown NYC. We went around Christmas and the decorations and lights were really impressive. The food was great and the Guinness is exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyOver rated and over priced
Over rated and over priced. Also added a mandatory 25% tip to the bill. Service was ok but not deserving of 25%. Be warned $20 per cocktail too.
Be the first to ReplyHighly Recommend!!!
Monica and Lizzy are exceptional bartenders!! The atmosphere, vibe, music, etc. was amazing!!! I highly recommend!!!
Be the first to ReplyVery busy bar, great bartenders
What more can I say? Great atmosphere and cocktails, beautifully crafted. Very busy but we got a seat at the bar in only a few minutes whilst we were watching our drinks being made. We didnโt eat there but we saw several people having small plates as well as some having full meals - looked tasty. Quite expensive but then you pay for what you get and for the location.
Be the first to ReplyBest Irish coffee that youโll find
We were staying around the corner on South William Street and came across the Dead Rabbit when walking back from South Ferry. It was raining heavily so we went in to get out of the rain and get an Irish coffee. The Irish coffee was easily the best one I have ever had. We came back again the next evening and the doorman remembered us and got us a seat upstairs at the cocktail bar, which was also very nice. The staff are friendly, professional and also very attentive without being overbearing. Itโs not a traditional Irish pub, itโs more like if a traditional Irish pub and a Dublin 7 coffee shop had a child together; and to be honest it works perfectly. The only downside is the pricing which is pretty high; however at the end of the day the bar is in Manhattanโs financial district so itโs to be expected. Despite the high prices I would say itโs well worth it and Iโll be back again next time Iโm in New York. Also, they do frozen Irish coffee which sounds utterly bizarre to an Irish person, but my god was it good.
Be the first to ReplyNiche, but worthwhile
Not my style of food, booze, or ambiance, but still warrants five stars. The Dead Rabbit is on the edges of the financial district, near Battery Park. Itโs an Irish pub with Irish fare: fish nโ chips, scotch eggs, sausage/bangers nโ mash, burgers, pot pies, and more. I had the fish nโ chips. The fish was well battered and crispy. The sauces were awesome. The chips were well seasoned, but a little mushy on the inside. The drinks are not the same drinks currently shown on the website, which is outdated. I had a gin based drink and a tequila based drink (mad hatters club and flying boat), which were light and tart. I did like them. The most surrounding thing, however, is how much I liked my next two drinks, both Irish Whiskey drinks (I hate dark liquors, but I wanted to be adventurous). I had the Gilbeyโs Highball and Spell Spoke. They were both delicious! So I have to say, if you like Irish/pub fare and whiskey, you must give this place a try. The place was noisy and crowded. I recommend making reservations ahead of time if you want something besides a bar seat or stool. Keep in mind I visited on a Monday night after seven. That being said, the staff are courteous, attentive, and I have no complaints. This spot is a little niche, but worthwhile.
Be the first to ReplyIrish Pub worth visiting
Spent a wonderful evening in this friendly pub. They have a fantastic selection of beers on tap and whiskeys of various prices. Will be going back for more during our NYC visit!
Be the first to ReplyMy favourite bar in New York
During my last trip to New York, I did a lot of the city's cocktail bars and this one stood up as the best one. I went there twice. One night in the main area with already great drinks. The next night was spent in the Parlor and there the cocktails were simply perfect. There is a really high level of mixology and the bartenders are really skilled. My friends and I tasted the entire menu and had a great time! The whole staff were very friendly both times. My only regret is that I did not get to eat there because the food looks delicious. I definitely recommend The Dead Rabbit to anyone visiting New York or even living there! But make sure to plan because it gets very busy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Irish bar
Heard they were celebrating 10 years in business so nipped in as we were sightseeing at the Seaport.. so glad we did as the cocktails, food, staff were all on point and we had a great afternoon here.. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the city..Bowling Green metro is nearby if coming by subway as are the local buses from midtown.. Near Wall Street too .. A great find :-)
Be the first to ReplySuper accommodating staff
Impromptu visit to NYC left us some free time. Friends all raved about Dead Rabbit, but couldnโt book reservations. Emailed them and they bent over backwards to accommodate. Good food and drinks. Started with sausage roll, then pot pie, and more drinks. Was as good as friends had told us. Will definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyPilgrimage to one of the world's best bars / pub
I worked in hospitality for 20+ years. As a result have I have visited the world's very best. Dead Rabbit is in my top 3 in the world. Working in the trade I know how hard it is to great at brilliant basics every singe day for every single guest. Clean glasses Clean staff Clean toilets Orgainsed business may seem obvious but many places get fundamentals wrong. Dead Rebbit nails these every single time. I visited NYC for 3 weeks came to DR on lively nights to slow day times, the culture and standard never drops that is a masterpiece of training and detail. Simply if I could I would work here for free. Brilliant food & FRESH!!!!! Cocktails are outrageously good The team are intimate but know when to leave you lost in your phone when needed. A truly inspirational business. To the whole DR team. Thank You Ian
Be the first to ReplyOld Irish Dockers Vibe
Great old Irish dockers vibe, atmosphere and clientele. Food ok. Enjoyed visiting a few times when visiting my daughter from Dublin whoโs studying in NY. Staff nice & approachable barr one young female bartender, long blond hair, extremely rude and brash.
Be the first to ReplyLoved the atmosphere, food and drinks!
We happened upon The Dead Rabbit by chance on a recent Saturday while looking for a place to have lunch. From the moment we walked in we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. From the friendly staff to the cocktails to the food, everything was very good. Would absolutely stop here again if in the area.
Be the first to ReplyThe Dead Rabbit definitely lives up to its reputation as the most awarded bar in the world
Great if you're in the city center of New York doing touristy activities or if you work nearby and need to unwind after a long day. The Dead Rabbit definitely lives up to its reputation as the most awarded bar in the world. You'll find the best beverages in the country served in The Parlor, where you'll amicably compete for a table with other cocktail connoisseurs.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed
We arrived to just grab a drink or two. The ageing doorman with the slicked back hair was rude shouting down from the door about the age of my daughterโฆ18. Then after a while said he would get us a table . Then he let more people in for drinks only for about another 10/15 mins, and kept telling he was getting a table. Then another member of staff came out and said sorry we have no room for you for a drink would you like to wait an hour. I said no and told him we just had wanted a drink in the bar as we were on holiday from Belfast. To be honest disappointing considering the reputation the bar is living on .

Stopped by after visiting the Statue of Liberty and financial district. Atmosphere was good and the food was pretty decent, filling and good value for money. Staff were friendly and attentive even though the place was very busy.
Be the first to ReplyNot all itโs cracked up to be
My wife and I visited the dead rabbit on our recent trip to NYC. I stumbled across it online, not previously known about it. I booked a table at the Taproom area of the restaurant. We arrived 10 mins before our time but the table wasnโt ready. We waited in the very busy bar for 5 mins then we were taken to our table. The table was right next to the engraver of the washrooms. People using the bathroom weโre passing in very close proximity to us. My wife found this very uncomfortable. The place was packed so there was no way we could of moved to another table. The food.. oh dear. This is what disappointed the most. It was below average to say the least. My wife ordered fish and chips, I ordered the house burger. They both came out in record time and could not of been made fresh. Plus the house burger was supposed to be served in a seeded bun, but it wasnโt. It was served in a normal bun. I was going to say something but noticed other burgers being served with the same buns. At $24 this burger was not good value for money. Yes there was a great atmosphere in the bar area with the live music but the food was a real let down.
Be the first to ReplyStick to the drinks
Boy had the fish and chips and I had the cheese and ham toastie. Fish and Chips soddy and mushy peas bland. Cheese and ham toastie was horribly greasy and bad quality meat given the price. Cocktails were good especially the irish coffee but overall better value out there.
Be the first to ReplyA visit that did not disappoint
We had lways wanted to visit the Dead Rabbit and was able to do so on our trip to NYC last week , we were not disappointed , - a really good atmosphere coupled with great quality food, drink and service .
Be the first to ReplySecond trip, still fabulous
This is my second trip to the Dead Rabbit and it doesn't put a foot wrong. It feels like a modern Irish pub from home, and the cocktails are creatively delicious. The Irish Coffee was the best I've ever tasted. We went for food this time, and the fried chicken was perfect. Thanks to Annie at the bar for great drinks and great craic.
