Terribly slow service, hence 3 stars
Great location, next to Tower Bridge. Nice decor. Good choice of delicious food, medium to high prices. Only real letdown was that service wasn't good.... far too slow.. over an hour before starter, and nearly 3 hrs for 3 courses.....
Be the first to ReplyHard poached eggs small tables and slow.
They always sit you on the smallest table they can even when empty. The poached eggs are always hard despite ordering soft. The service is slow. The Wetherspoons across the road is better.

Fixed menu was good, service was ok I was covered in fluff (on my dark navy suit) from the napkin was told ‘no we can’t help’ then told basically get over it ‘it’s not a spillage’ just expected a more professional solution!

Be the first to ReplyOutstanding service
Pre-theatre dinner. The service was outstanding! We were served by Yousef, who was very attentive and made us feel very special. It really enhanced our experience. Our food was delicious and beautifully presented. I also visited last December and received excellent service from Nizer, who recognised us this time. He gave me such a warm welcome that I came away feeling that I had been treated like royalty. What lovely staff! I have a booking in May and I am really looking forward to returning.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent London Views Food Service
We went as a family of four, he food was good and the views amazing. The lady serving us was very attentive, so good service and the food was excellent nice steak good curry, fine wine and the desserts were amazing. We’ll be back.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful experience celebrating friend’s birthday
Gorgeous interior and amazing views of Tower Bridge and river. Three of us had the pre-theatre menu and we all enjoyed our dishes. I can highly recommend their shepherd’s pie! All the staff were very nice but Moussa, our waiter, was exceptional. Attentive, friendly. One friend was celebrating her birthday and he brought her a dessert and sang Happy Birthday to her. We had a lovely experience. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyVery Nice Second Visit
The only thing for me that stopped this being a five star review is the process they have for delivering the food to the table. One set of staff brought the food out to a service table then they tried to get the waiting staff to serve it. However, we saw some food there for 2-3 minutes getting cold. But everything else was top quality. All staff we encountered were excellent and our waiter was top-notch; knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Food was delicious and I think at reasonable cost.
Be the first to ReplyPoor service, great food!
The staff were very disappointing, for such a beautiful place and with the Ivy’s reputation for attentive service we were shocked by how poor the service was. Staff didn’t seem to want us there, not very helpful with a serious allergy on the table despite being pre-warned when booked in advance. It was a treat for my mum’s special birthday but felt let down by it. The food was delicious but shame service didn’t match.

Cater well for gluten free would of liked couple more choices tho! Loved my monk fish curry. Friend had the fish and chips and enjoyed them too. Was served by several staff. 13.5 service charge added to the bill automatically which I think is a lot for a table of two! And you don't get just one server!
Be the first to ReplyLovely. Best service
Had a lovely breakfast at the Ivy London Bridge. The service was exemplary. Thank you Mihaela for making our breakfast special.

Maria waitress was really lovely and made our visit very special. Good attention to detail. Thank you
Be the first to ReplyMice !
The staff were very courteous & the food very nice. Pity about the mice trotting around the floor! Shocking! How is this restaurant allowed to be open? Senior staff were aware of the issue.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced food and drink and very poor service at this particular branch
Food ok but standards slipping. Service poor for general cost. We ate at the Ivy in Guildford 18 months ago and loved it. Had high hopes for tonight but these quickly evaporated. The starters (scallops). We’re a fraction of the size in 2021 and volume made up with puff pastry. Fish n chips fine as was chocolate bomb (although waiter just chucked warm sauce in). Overall biggest disappointment was waiter who was dreadful. Wasn’t at all courteous, made no eye contact, was clearly too busy elsewhere and tried his best to completely misunderstand our order. I wasn’t at all prepared to pay the auto-applied 13.5% but misses didn’t want it make a fuss. I would have gone with 2%

Booked prior to our arrival but arrived an hour early. No problem. Spent a while at the cocktail bar. Asked for a table with a view of the Tower Bridge. No problem. Excellent meals and cocktails. Staff were very good, pleasant and accommodating. THANX Geoff n Jill
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service from Todor
We had booked for Cream Teas in celebration of my sister’s 50th & my niece’s 18th birthdays. However after a River Thames lunch cruise we really could not eat anything. Todor, our waiter along with the manager were very understanding and allowed us to just have tea & coffee and brought out a cake for my niece’s birthday! Kindness abounded!
Be the first to ReplyWe just love this place.
Last week we visited this restaurant again after our great experience the month before. Once again we had a very nice evening thanks to the excellent food and staff at this place. This time we even had a better seat at the window looking at tower bridge. Hats off to the very professional and friendly staff. Keep up the good work and we’ll definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyAfternoon Tea
At first things were going terribly wrong for our group of seven for Afternoon Tea on Friday 24/02/23. Unknown to us half of our order had gone to the wrong table. This initially blighted our experience because when we asked for our full order the head waiter abruptly told us we would have to pay extra. We were not happy and raised the issue again. However, Maria the adorable Polish waitress saved the day. First she apologised as she explained what had happened to our order. When the rest of the order arrived, she explained what each item was and how we should eat them. We all felt completely at ease by her warmth and professionalism. Nothing was too much for her. We appreciate that it’s a tough role and mistakes do happen but rectifying them with courtesy is essential. The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious and good value. But it was Maria’s enthusiasm that made our day.
Be the first to ReplySon's Birthday Celebration
I booked the Ivy for my son's 15th Birthday 18/2/2023 Booked it on line and mentioned it was my son's birthday and told a member of staff but the birthday was never acknowledged. Food is always nice. My sons ordered the squid and Fish and Chips. We were asked if we wanted the food together. Main was received first and 10mins later the starter. Mains were received at different times. I was very disappointed, as it was a special occasion. Only very few squids in one of the starters.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed!
I booked two weeks in advance and pre ordered a glass of champagne and complimentary birthday chocolate plaque as it was my mums birthday. Upon arrival we were taken to the bar area as our table wasn’t quiet ready which was fine. However, we were then greeted with the chocolate plaque at the bar when having drinks. I’m sure we should have been greeted with the chocolate plaque after our food not before? Thought the communication between staff members should have been a lot better here! Like I said before I ordered champagne for my mum earlier in the week and even sent a remind email two days ago and it was agreed we’d have this when seated. Did we? No. We didn’t receive any champagne. We then ordered a bottle of wine. It never came. We have food and it still never came. I was then given the bill with champagne on, the birthday plaque and also service charge. I was very disappointed to be give a bill with all of this on when it never happened. I chose The Ivy especially for the birthday gestures as my mum is a single mum to 3 children and hasn’t had an easy life. So to not be given the full expectations was hugely disappointing. Although, despite the upset a lovely gentle who was the general manager called Callum was very kind and I will give credit to him. However, I won’t be returning. Hugely disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyEva made our evening!
Me and my sister went for a dinner at this restaurant the other night and had a really crappy day. After one night at this restaurant everything changed. The receptionists were helpful and everything looked aesthetically pleasing, but our waitress Eva was super nice to us. She made us laugh, gave us great recommendations and cleaned up our plates without needing to wave her down. The bill was manageable and we felt very welcome. Thank you Eva!
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast
Booked for breakfast yesterday. Ordered food, I was given wrong order and had to wait 15 mins, by then all our party had finished their breakfast. Two rounds of toast orders that didn’t appear so had to ask again for it, another 10 minute wait! Cold toast no butter, jam or separate knife. Again had to ask for this! I never complain but this experience was terrible. Do not book , much nicer restaurants around !
Be the first to ReplyBirthday dinner
One receptionist was rude we were a little early we asked to wait in bar but she said no room we came past the bar only 2 people she said go away come back at booking time. Food was good.
Be the first to ReplyAfternoon Tea for Birthday
First advice is to book a table so you can be sure you will not be waiting. I have seen some reviews about waiting for a long time, they don't mention having a reservation so I am thinking this is the issue. This is a very high traffic area. The spread is beautiful and matches the omnibus and views. The prices are high so expect that but balance it out by taking your time enjoying the view, taking pictures, enjoying the dishes... We asked for a table by the window and marked our occasion as a birthday in our reservation and received a great table with a view and a beautiful little birthday treat!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service
Pre-theatre meal for 4 people . We allowed 2 hours for dinner. We said we needed dessert to arrive promptly before ordering and were told it was no problem. 25 minutes later, we cancelled dessert and had to leave. Apparently it was then ready, but too late for us. It was disappointing that the apology was so half hearted and we were told that we hadn’t allowed enough time. At our previous visit to The Ivy , one person’s dessert failed to arrive. The rest of the meal was good, but we will hesitate to go there again.
