Great old School Charm and Outstanding Seafood
The is a great old school seafood restaurant with excellent food and service. The calamari appetizer was great, as was the walleye. Highly recommend reservations even if you have to sit at the bar. The owner and chef Tony runs an intimate and well run restaurant with lots of old world friendliness and neighborhood atmosphere with some additional nice touches for all of the old seafood favorites and a few more innovative specialsโeven parrotfish in Fort Wayne

We have always loved Oyster bar. Last fall we had a great meal. This weekend we were very disappointed. My husbands filet and baked potato were "average" at best. My daughter ordered the special (mahi mahi) and it came with 1 side instead of 2 like all other entrees (they put a large piece of bread next to the fish to fill her plate). She was hungry when we left. I asked how much the salmon was because the price was not listed. I ordered it "black and blue" and the added $6 for the blue cheese. It was expensive and we would not mind the cost if we were happy with the meal. We were not. Won't go back.

Had dinner with friends at The Oyster Bar this past Saturday and it was the best dinner I've had out in quite a long time, and we eat out virtually every weekend. I had the seafood au gratin and it was simply outstanding. The appetizers of oysters, calamari and a shrimp cocktail were equally great. The shrimp were huge and the oysters were delicious. On top of that, our server, Julie was extremely personable and attentive. All in all, a truly great dining experience.

The Oyster Bar is a Fort Wayne haunt, typically great - but something is off! Stopped for lunch and was served an over-cooked Ahi Tuna and a Signature Oyster Bar salad without the signature hearts of palmโฆ.โthey are out of hearts of palmโฆ.they are going to change the menuโ!!!

It has been about 5 years since I last dined here. Nothing has changed. The oyster's were ice cold, big, and clean. The pan fried walleye dinner with the spit pea soup was excellent. The manhattan was a little expensive for Ft. Wayne, but it was large and well made. Went on a Tuesday night so it was not packed, just a nice comfortable crowd. Service was very good. A + A + A +

Took a couple out to celebrated a special day forthem.. the service was slow and the food mediocre. A real disappointment

Clam Chowder was very good. Crab cakes were average at best even for Indiana, but the Seafood Au Gratin entree was pathetic. 2 shrimp. Maybe 4 small bays Collins and a ton of imitation crab. They should be embarrassed to even have imitation crab in a respectable seafood establishment.

We are lifelong residents of Ft. Wayne, so we wanted to delight our overseas guests with a delicious meal in an atmosphere unique to this town. Sadly, we could not delight them. In fact, I was embarrassed. The redecoration, although nice in some aspects, has lost the atmosphere unique to the Oyster Bar of the past. I can compliment our wait staff. Friendly and responsive. However, the food was not only disappointing, it was borderline horrible! We had fishy prawns, oily and limp walleye, a seafood medley drenched in too much cheese, an underdone special, and baked oysters that were still gray and watery - hardly the baked gems we expected. Perhaps the intention was good, but the execution and the chef were absolutely poor. To be fair, our tiny soup was tasty. Our guests insisted on picking up the hefty tab for a bad meal and even worse impression. I am saddened to say that we will not return.

It had been awhile since I've been here. It is small but with a big heart. This place continues to deliver consistent quality and a warm atmosphere.

I had not had oysters on the half shell in 4o years. So I was glad I picked this place while shopping in Fort Wayne. The oysters were extremely fresh and came with two sauces. The only tip I would pass along to the chef - the oyster poor boy had three oysters but four would have filled the bun much better. It would be worth paying a little extra for if necessary. The waitress was very experienced and friendly.

This place has us at hello. We travel to Ft. Wayne at least every few months on business. On a recent trip to town we had the good fortune of dining at the Oyster Bar. The old building just looks like if the walls could talk what stories they would tell. It appears as if every illuminary that has graced Ft. Wayne dined here. The story they are proud to display of the gentlemen who has shucked oysters for around a half a century was heart warming. The renown is high for this establishment. The atmosphere is worn and well done. The kind of place that we truly enjoy. High marks even though this is a pretty exclusive dining opportunity just by mere size alone. The bar looked inviting even though it was loaded with locals when we were there and was not an option. Call for reservations would be our recommendation. They tout "Serious Food in a Casual Atmosphere". We concur. The food was sesrious. It was well done and everything we tried was great. Being at the Oyster Bar we had to try the oysters. Oysters are not our thing but when in Rome. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. Amazing would be our description. We then moved on the their signature Walleye and the Filet. Both were top notch. High marks for their food. Our ratings: Renown 5 stars Food 5 stars Romantic appeal 5 stars Service 4 stars Atmosphere 5 stars Value 5 stars 4.8 star average We highly recommend this place. Run to it when in town and you are looking for a historic place to dine for "Serious Food".

We love the OB in Ft. Wayne. It is a very quaint restaurant in downtown Ft. Wayne. The seafood is divine and the steaks looked amazing although we did not have one. My husband had the sea bass special with the acorn squash-sweet potato side. He loved it! my meal was delicious as well. The house salads were lovely. The service was very good! Since it was our anniversary they comped us a dessert. What a nice touch! We will be back.
