The Point Crab House & Grill Arnold Reviews from The Last Year
Good View, Decent Food
My wife and I ate a late lunch at The Point in mid-April 2024. The restaurant is located on the water, but is a bit off the beaten path. When we got there, it was pretty crowded, but there was plenty of parking. We were seen and seated right away by a peasant hostess. We got a nice seat one row from the water, which was fine. If you choose outside seating, the view is fine from most or all of the seats. Our waiter came promptly and took drink orders. He came back in a few minutes with the drinks and we ordered a chicken Caesar salad, chicken wings, the rockfish lettuce wraps, and the cream of crab soup – all to share. The food came in about 20 minutes, which was ok considering the crowded restaurant and the fact that we were not in a rush. All of the food was fresh and tasted fine. I particularly liked the cream of crab soup. Plenty of crab meat and the flavor was rich and delicious. The other food was good, but nothing special. One down point (and the reason for the missing star) is that the waiter never came back to check on us after we ordered. A runner brought the food, but no waiter. We were out of water and I wanted a second beer, but by the time he showed back up at the end of the meal, we were ready to go and it was too late for refills. After we ate, we walked along the little trail next to the water to digest. The view of the marina is nice and the food decent. We will likely go back when they have crabs in season and try some other menu items. If you’re in the area, it’s worth going a little out of the way to check out The Point, but I would not make a special trip for it.

First time in Maryland, so we had to get crab cakes - and they were amazing. The location was also great, being right on the water.
Old reviews are irrelevant , have become complacent .
Beautiful view, it always is.. Negatives, menu never changes.. Today I ordered the battered fried cod and fish .. All I could taste was the oil ..I tried taking away the batter and just eating the fish.. That did not help the fish had that oil taste. Then I thought ok, just eat the fries , well yes , of course, they had been fried in same manner . Definitely old and should have been tossed.. I would have complained or made a comment. However, I never was asked how my meal was . Even when removing the dishes at the end of the meal , you would think a server would notice that 3/4 of the food was still there and asked if your meal was ok. Nope , never asked how the meal was , was everything ok etc. Been going many years , think this is my last time.
Some of the best crab cakes I've ever had.
I live in seattle now and grew up in MD. Last week I ate 7 different crab cakes and this was easily top 2. Plus the setting is picturesque

Perfect dining for all the must haves for a real on the water-seafood experience-great food and drink selection, location, set up for inside and out, staff is attentive and endearing and live music sets the tone. I bet parking could be tough when really busy though
As Good As It Gets
It was nice to open up the summer season here on a beautiful 92 degree day in late April with the sun glistening on the water. In for their fantastic M-F 3-6 pm happy hour that has $3 domestic and $5 craft/imports as well as 7 1/2 price appetizer's. We started with the HH Old Bay wings that were seasoned well and very hot right out of the kitchen. The HH mussels were outstanding and were about the largest I can ever remember having with a nice broth and 2 large slices of bread. The HH crab dip was good in a cut out bread bowl with 2 long Bavarian pretzel rolls for dipping. Our waiter Kyle was efficient all afternoon. The Point Crab House views and atmosphere is the perfect place to jumpstart the summer season.
Great food.
Great service. Great atmosphere. Love the new additions to the menu. The Point always delivers
Best cream of crab and fried pickles!! Great service.
Amazing happy hour! Excellent cocktails and beer selection. Worth a wait! Love the casual outside atmosphere.
Parking is very minimal.
Service was slow. Asked for French dressing 3x and still was bring us a yellow dressing. Food was mediocre. Nothing really had flavor. Got accused of cursing and belittling waitress which we did not do at all. We were a party of five all 54-75. Manager kicked us out of restaurant. People sitting near us never heard us say anything and we're shocked at how we were treated. Never coming back and not recommending to anyone.

This is a very casual spot in a Marina in the middle of a neighborhood. Their wings are worth a try they come in several ways but buffalo are all way the go to. Their fries basket are like boardwalk fries with the skin on which we love. We love their seasonal salads the tomato slices and balsamic glaze salad with Stilton cheese is delicious, we always add a crab cake on top and their crab cakes are on "Point" . The service is always friendly and attentive to the guest. They have wine Wednesdays but we wish they had a better wine Selections. They're getting better with their cocktails and the best part is they're served in glass not plastic which is saying a lot for a crab house.
We really enjoyed our visit to The Point.
Service, food and ambiance was well on point.Pun intended
The food here was great and the service was excellent.
The crab dip is delicious. We had the fish and chips and the cod tacos, and my friend had a burger. The portions were generous. If the weather had been a little warmer we'd have sat outside, but the view was still nice. The prices here were also better than what we found in downtown Annapolis.
Loved special that day, Tuna with arugula and potatoes.
Very tasty. The mussels were delicious. Topped off the meal with cornbread dessert and ice cream The service was great. Looking forward to returning and dining outside on the water.

The staff at THE POINT was VERY accommodating for a large party of 16 that we had. They were very polite and welcoming. Thank you very much!
My absolute favorite in the Annapolis area.
It just keeps getting better and better. They draw a big crowd so you have to go early (before 4 for dinner) or plan on a wait especially on a nice weather day. They are really great at taking standards and twisting them to the fresh trendy side.
Location, location, location.
You want a casual restaurant on the water, this is your spot. Very good crabs and crab cakes. To die for desserts. Often very business. Service can be a bit slow but you won't notice as you enjoy the sunset.
Get To The Point
We had a great table outside next to the marina. The wait staff was attentive to our needs the whole time. Delicious food served in generous portions. Two of us had the cream of crab soup…fantastic! By all means go, but you will need your GPS, as it’s neatly tucked away in a residential neighborhood.
Horrible Service
We were told the wait would be 25 minutes. After 45, we checked and were told they were clearing a table. After 15 more, we asked again and we’re taken to one of the outside picnic tables that had been empty for at least 20. At no time was there any kind of apology for the delay. After being seated for 15 minutes, no one paid any attention to us. Not even “I’ll be right with you”. So we left. I went to the host stand and recounted the sequence of events. The look on the faces of the staff conveyed a mixture of surprise and you’ve got a lot of nerve complaining about us. I was then accused of yelling. I was not happy and conveyed that but I was not anywhere close to yelling. I understand the challenges of operating a restaurant. But if you tell customers 25 minutes and then take 60, it is not hard to communicate and apologize. If you’re short staffed and are then not going to be able to serve the table for a while, communicate that when seating. Also, I made the mistake of ordering a cocktail which was ridiculously sweet while we waited. I didn’t say anything about that because at The Point the customer is always wrong.
Good until time to pay the check
While the food was good, we found paying the check difficult. There were 3 of us, all friends. We asked for separate checks and were told "they don't do that". What???? She said it would be no problem when it came time to pay the check, that she could take care of it. Turns out we all had only twenty dollar bills so we each asked her for change. The look we received was one of disbelief. Her response was, "I'll have to see if the bartender has change". After quite a wait she finally returned with our change and we were able to pay the bill. The restaurant needs to change it's policy on separate checks.
Don't bother. There's no hvac. Lots of drunks.... no A/C
Too crowded and not worth the wait. The food is limited and there are alot of drunk people. This is not a family experience I would choose. Try Donnelys Dockside for a better experience.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
