Knives Out
The meats were fine, but did not exceed expectations. Selection seems limited (only one pork chop, one lamb and three steak options) for a Chop / Steak House and come without any sides, so those must be ordered separately. Only three of them from which to choose. Appetizers were delicious. Most frustrating of all was the DULLNESS of the steak knives. It took so much effort to tear through the meat with a dull knife that we gave up! Each of us thinking it was our knife alone that was problematic it turned out to be all of them, at our table and the next. What a shame. They are a facsimile of the fabulous Laguiole knives, but nowhere near as functional or sharp! This could be remedied and would make the experience much more pleasant. Chairs not comfortable, and 40-60 minutes to prepare a steak, as stated on the menu and as was in fact the case, seems unnecessarily long. We will not rush back.

Thank you so much for making my birthday/ retirement such a lovely day. Not just the wonderful food and wine, but the care taken by and warmth from all of the staff - you made an old(ish) man very happy - take care, hopefully see you soon xx
Be the first to ReplyKnockout lamb and the loveliest of waiters
This really lived up to the hype. Lovely, cosy, casual setting, serving up truly delicious plates of meat. If the osso bucco is on the menu, itโs a must. The Barnsley lamb chop was sublime, as were the crispy potatoes. Shared the chop between 2 with a couple of slides and 4 small plates - it was plenty. Shout out to Rahul our waiter, who absolutely made the meal. Thank you!

โOur fathers of old were robust, stout, and strong, And kept open house, with good cheer all day long Which made their plump tenants rejoice in this songโ Oh! The Roast Beef of old England, And old English Roast Beef!โ There are popular misconceptions to the effect that the UK is a culinary backwater, and that it is the New World that โownsโ beef โ the USA, South America and Australia. Nothing could be further from the truth. London has some of the best steakhouses in the world, and the Chophouse ranks pretty much at the top. The variety and quality is unparalleled. The cuts are tender and bursting with flavour. Strongly recommended to order at least two different breeds and cuts so as to enjoy the nuanced differences in texture and taste. One of the best meals ever. To add to the pleasure, the staff are deeply knowledgeable about the menu and its provenance, and at least in our case, knew his way around a wine list. Exquisite.

โฆโฆmenu. Bordering on odd. The food ended up being good, rather than great, if uninspiring. Very attentive staff, the same great atmosphere, of old, but the overall experience is very slightly underwhelming and on the expensive side.

The food was delicious have shared a few different cuts of meat (lamb and beef) and the confit potatoes were especially nice. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and would recommend
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced for what it was..
Recently celebrated a birthday here. The character and quirkiness of the restaurant were charming and brilliant. The staff were lovely & attentive. However, the food was very overpriced for what it was. ยฃ96 for the rib eye alone (without any accompaniments) was, in my view, a bit of a rip off - no matter how specially bred or rare the meat is. Had better at less pricey establishments I'm afraid.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Game menu
Probably the best game restaurant in London. The food is superb. I have been many times and have never been disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyVery good.
Excellent quality and overall experience was enjoyed. My wife and I come here often and the service and food is always the same.
Be the first to ReplyAnother tasty lunch
The salmon tail served with XO sauce was excellent. Itโs never easy to choose what to eat, as every dish is always executed so well. I chose the crab meat for my second dish, which was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service, mediocre food
Came here for Sunday lunch and left disappointed. Our waiter was absolutely dreadful. Very unfriendly and inattentive. Didnโt ask what we wanted to drink, didnโt put in an order for our drinks once we asked. Delivered our starters without the extra bread we had ordered, etc. Above all, we were very clear that my wife is pregnant and required that her meat to be cooked well downโฆ it certainly wasnโt. The waiter insisted it was, which it definitely wasnโt. He took the plate back to the kitchen and then came back to apologise stating it was indeed not properly cooked. The waitress that then brought back the dish made a remark as though uncooked meat for a pregnant woman isnโt a big deal -> that is a very personal decision to make during your pregnancy. As it relates to the food -> mediocre at best. The pork roast that we ordered was 90% fat and pretty bland. Being totally fair, this is a type of dish that could have been served at any average pub in London. The confit potatoes were good but I would certainly not come back for them alone. Ultimately, good service goes a very long way and unfortunately it was really bad here. Shame as we heard good things. Perhaps another London institution going downhill post COVID given untrained staff. Would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyBarnsley chop - delicious!
Really delicious food - the Barnsley chop was tasty and cooked perfectly. Definitely only order one portion of potatoes as theyโre a large size! Super service and a nice spot!

Call it a mistake or call it a blessing booked this restaurant without reading much reviews about it. Have to admit I was very lucky to find (personally) a hidden gem close to the Farringdon station. Once we arrived at the restaurant we found it almost packed up, which is already an indication of the quality. Excellently served by the staff we were offered a set Menu which was very reasonable in price and vast in the choice. Definitely recommended to anyone who wishes to have a filling Lunch to ease your hunger. BTW, whatever you order, make sure you all the sauces which accompany each plate, they are an explosion of flavours.
Be the first to ReplyA real neighborhood treat
Go back in thyme and you get to the butcher shop that is now the Quality Chop house with an updated menu and fine cuisine. Once you get past the wooden benches, which either are, or are meant to look like original, the drinks and food come. The cocktail I had with Gin and strawberry was very moorish so I had two! The parfait of chicken liver and foie gras was delicious and then I had the Turbot as a mains. The turbot was perfectly cooked and delicious. The surroundings are like going to your local and its obviously a neighborhood gem. The staff were knowledgeable and very curteous
Be the first to ReplySadly, very poor
What a shame that we had a disappointing experience. The Sunday lunch meat was very good but spoilt by the overall experience. We arrived early and was told that they could not seat us โฆ understandable but when we returned, the tables we were offered had been empty when we arrived. Our starter came before our snack and drinks. Then we waited for at least 40 minutes for our main course to arrive whilst other tables (who arrived after us) were served. I had to remind the waiter. I believe we were forgotten. When food came there were no serving spoons making it difficult to serve. No one asked us how our food was until they came to remove our plates. I was not impressed. The senior waitress did all she could to apologise and listen to my concerns. The worst thing about the experience to top it all was the really uncomfortable seating โฆ church pews, not something we wanted to sit on for a long time waiting for food to arrive. We will not return.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food & excellent service
We had a fantastic meal last night, the meat was amazingly tender - we ordered a pork and lamb chop which was cut beautifully to share. The confit potatoes were a perfect accompaniment, as was the romanesco. And to finish, olive oil ice cream - who would have thought it works as a thing, but it really does! Many thanks to Ashley and his team for looking after us.

Called in on the off-chance to see if they could find me a table for Sunday lunch, as I hadn't booked. Although they were very busy, they quickly found me a table. I ordered the roast beef with a glass of Bordeaux. Both were excellent. The meal cost ยฃ42, which might put it beyond some budgets, but it was well worth it. Delicious food, excellent service.

Somehow when paying ยฃ38 for a pork chop ( no sides) you donโt want to be told when arriving at the restaurant that you have to eat and be gone in 2hours. Somehow getting the bill (ยฃ350 for three people) before finishing our coffees ( no time for dessert) appeals to some people. Not me, I wonโt be returning.
Be the first to Replyepic sunday roast
Had a lovely sunday afternoon at the QCH yesterday - the wine was delicious and the food was fantastic - I'm never one to throw this phrase out lightly but I do believe it's the best Sunday roast in London! A little niggle - we arrived and walked in and were not greeted by anyone for a while, we were just standing in the middle of the restaurant and it was a little awkward. I get it, it was sunday lunch and it was busy - the staff were all attending tables but a quick look up and 'i'll be with you in a min guys' wouldn't have gone a miss - just so you know where you stand. After that, the service was exemplary and we had a lovely afternoon, will definitely be recommending it.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but overall not the best quality or value.
Firstly the good bits.
Food - if you like meat then this IS the place. The Duck starter was good and the Barnsley Pork Chop was delicious! The wine list although not cheap was packed with delights.
Service - casual but efficient.
Now for the not so good bits.
Menu - Limited especially when it comes to sides with only 2 available.
Seats - Church pew style. Cramped and upright these were not comfortable.
Ventilation - the whole place smelt of fat
The bill was considerable (almost 3 figures per head) and for this i expect more.
Excellent food and service.
I visited with my daughter yesterday for the first time. The food was so tasty, best roast Iโve had out ever. The service from Rahul was excellent and his knowledge of food and wine impeccable. Thank you.

Great place probably my N.1 in London. The food and the flavour are outstanding. The staff are super friendly.
Be the first to ReplyTQC heaven
A welcome return to TQC after 4 years and as good as ever. My trout starter was comme il faut, the Swaledale barnsley a carnivore's delight and the chocolate ganache the perfect indulgence to finish the meal. Sides of confit potatoes and hispi cabbage sealed the deal. My companions were equally impressed with their starters and steak and turbot mains. Friendly and very able service. This place currently has it all!

Absolutely great experience. We went to Quality Chop House in search of a proper Sunday roast and we were delighted with the entire experience. Our server was exceptionally nice and very helpful. The food was outstanding. Absolutely wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Sunday lunch
Friends had called in 'sick', but I wasn't going to pass on this meal. Started with a spicy virgin mary, delicious tasting terrine to start followed by middle loin of pork, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and the trimmings.
