The Tram Sneem Reviews from The Last Year
Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings
The hotel is really lovely and is in a beautiful location. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly on our arrival and helped us up to our room with our luggage which was quite easy to find. Our room was on the small side for the standard of hotel, but the view from the window was stunning. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows were a bit soft. The bathroom was also quite small and it was very difficult to find any where to put wash bags and toiletries as there were no spare shelves. Toiletries that were provided were an exceptional high-quality. The shower was very efficient. There are two restaurants there and we had a meal in both of them. The menus are quite different, but the prices are much the same. We also had a cocktail on the terrace as it was a lovely sunny day. Breakfast was very good and quite comprehensive. There was a buffet for the Continental breakfast items and any cooked food you ordered from the table. The public areas were all very nice and well maintained. Even though it was there was a fire in the entrance lobby which made it quite cozy as it was cold at night. There are quite a lot of activities that you can do, but we did not have time for any of those.
Luxurious hotel set in nature's best scenery
Fabulous hotel set in magnificent surroundings. Warm welcome at reception. Truly awesome room. Everything supplied that a resident could want. Really enjoyed the infinity pool (because it was adult only thank god). Steam room and sauna excellent. Interesting walks. We had dinner in both restaurants on different nights. ...good variety on menus. Lovely music during dinner in both.
Great hotel.
We were warmly welcomed by Anastasia at reception, whose friendly and helpful demeanor set the tone for our stay. Her professionalism and kindness made us feel immediately at home. She was so helpful in answering all our questions throughout our stay. This hotel offers an exceptional experience. The breathtaking views around the property are complemented by well-maintained walking paths and a diverse range of activities available to guests, many of which are included at no extra charge. The leisure center is state-of-the-art, and the infinity pool, overlooking the scenic landscape, provides a truly relaxing experience. I would 10/10 recommend
Disappointing and overpriced
We have been all over Ireland on our vacation and just stayed at Parknasilla. I was most excited for my family to stay at this property due to all the amenities it had for kids. The property has beautiful grounds and the dinner was good. Both waitress at dinner and front desk staff were very kind. We also had lovely massages. However, most of the rest of the staff was dismissive if not downright rude, the amenities touted online were marketed in such a way to make them seem much more family friendly, you were nickel and dimed for everything including towels for the pool, had to wear swim caps to go in the indoor pool, the kids weren’t allowed in the infinity pool so we couldn’t actually relax as a family, the breakfast was awful, the teens/kids hang out had such a strong odor of cigarette smoke the kids didn’t want to be in there, and activities were not daily, so if you happened to be there a day or two you could miss what you came for. Their marketing is superb, but it is clear this is not Irish owned and it is about making money, not an experience for guests. We have stayed at both B&Bs and castles that cost less and all were far superior experiences where you felt cared for. Save your money and stay somewhere more locally owned.
Fantastic Stay
Stayed overnight for a birthday celebration. From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Lots of friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the Princess Grace suite which was truly lovely and worth every penny. Food in the Pygmalion restaurant was amazing and I even had a surprise happy birthday song. Very relaxed atmosphere in the bar, with fast and friendly service. I’d say it would be also fantastic to stay here with a young family, so much to do. Overall, a magical place and will definitely be back for a longer stay. Well done everyone at Parknasilla, everything was spot on.
Great location but well past its best
The hotel is in a beautiful location with lots of trails and outdoor activities available to keep everyone happy. We were in the Pygmalian restaurant and the food was excellent as was the service and friendly staff. However the hotel has clearly seen better days and their attempt to bring it up to modern standards is somewhat behind the times. The shower in the room was feeble and could not be convinced to flow down straight. The room has only a few plugs but none of them near the bed and some are even the old round three pin plugs. The room had no air conditioning and a small fan in a wardrobe is not adequate. The bed is very firm, which is fine if you like that level of hardness but we found it a bit uncomfortable. Overall the hotel just looks like it could do with new carpet, wallpaper and a general refurbishment. Of particular note is the Spa which is very modern in comparison to the rest of the hotel and offers world class facilities. Unfortunately it does not open until 8;00am which is a bit late for early risers who would like a swim before breakfast.
Unbelievable break to celebrate a 40th
Just back from three nights in Parknasilla Check in: Effortless, we were slightly early but that was not an issue. Anastasia was lovely to deal with - gave us all the info, checked our meal bookings which had not gone through but she was able to remedy. Room: We stayed in room 143 and I would 100% look for this room again. It is the lowest level balcony so we were close to all the amenities but had amazing views of the bay. Lovely big bed. Plenty of room in the suite too for luggage etc. Nice comfy couch for some relaxing breaks in between activities. A smart TV would have been nice so we could have logged in and watched one of our regular shows on one of the streaming platforms. Would expect that to be standard at the price point. Dining: Ate in the bar on night one and it was very good. Portions were plentiful and well priced. I had the fish and chips, my partner had the burger and all was good. Ankush was very friendly and helpful and we met him over the next few nights also when we had drinks after dinner. Ate in the Pygmalion restaurant the next two nights. I thought €60 per head was decent value as the food was sublime. Ladislav was great in the restaurant too - we met him over breakfast and dinners. Breakfasts - Plentiful buffet and decent al a carte menu for anything else. Facilities/Activities: Parking - You can drive up to the door and drop/pick up bags if you need to but the carpark is really close. Also the concierge will bring bags for you if needed. The Hideout - Aimed at teens but we spent 15 mins in there having fun. Net was not fitted correctly on the table tennis when we were there, but great facility for younger guests. Outdoor Seating - Lots of room to sit outside, comfortable chairs and cushions available, maybe a blanket box would be helpful too as it does get windy, and this was June. Cleanliness - Place is spotless and the team were constantly visible maintaining the facility. Tennis - we saw the courts and the racquets available, we just didn't have time to fit it in. Bikes - Bikes available Yoga/Boat trips/Guided walks/Owl talks - All these things also available and many of them free, there is a daily time timetable, we just didn't get a chance this trip. Walks - We walked for miles and would highly recommend getting on your trainers and venturing about. There are so many trails to pick from and so many hidden little items along the way. There is a little row boat set up with sling shots on one of the first islands - I am sure it was set up for kids but we had great fun on it. Maps readily available. Pool - Nice pool and easy to use booking system. It did mention that U16 were not to be in the outdoor hot tub but that was not enforced as we saw kids in it. Didn't really matter to us but just to note. Locker tokens and towels available for hotel residents at least, not sure about holiday lodges. Staff - In general everybody was helpful and friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs which is nice to see. Special mention for the bar staff that kindly refilled my water bottle with water ice and lemon ahead of our walks. Music - Music was performed in both the bar and restaurant on all nights. Beautiful compositions. The music in the bar seemed to finish around ~10pm so it does not play for a long time - maybe 2 hours? Selfishly I would have loved to listen a little longer - especially when you are on your holidays and looking out at the summer skies and the light declining. Very talented musicians and a lovely touch. Check out - No issues. Thankfully Parknasilla offer to put your meals and drinks on the room or Pay as you go so bill was exactly as expected. Feedback - Trails - Would have been good to know that the connecting bridges for the last islands on The Herons trail were not in use. We came across a sign saying "last two bridges not in use" ahead of getting on to the islands but it was not clear which two bridges that meant, which you will understand if you look at the map. We had planned to picnic at the view point on the most northern island as per the map but that was not possible. Maintenance is totally understandable but would have been good to know ahead of setting out so we could plan to have lunch somewhere else. Room service - Though I did see somewhere on the website that room service/breakfast in the room was available, there were no menus in the room. I understand that given the age of the building transporting food up and down may have been troublesome but it would have been nice to have an option, especially as we had a full sized table and four chairs in the room. Balcony - we had a lovely balcony but unfortunately didn't use it a lot, as there was nowhere to sit. A little bistro set of table and chairs would have made the balcony a lot more usable.
A Great Experience! We Made Time to Relax!
Beautiful resort, so many different areas to relax in. We went for a variety of diferrent walks on the many different trails around the resort. We also spent time in the spa/pool area - very relaxing. The infinity pool was a treat, even when it was raining! The temperature for the pool was perfect! We ate at the Doolittle Restaurant a couple of different times while we were there - breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good. Stay here if you are in the area! Just one note, they do not have air conditioning and according to the staff it is unusual to need it. They do have fans and I suggest asking them to set one up even if you don't think you will need it.
A Family Weekend gathering.
A spectacular venue with very hard to beat natural amenities including rocky coves, inlets with beautiful walking trails, kayaking and a heated indoor and outdoor infinity pool. 9 hole Golf course has perhaps the best setting and scenery of any golf course I’ve played on although more serious players mate prefer an 18 hole course. A real highlight was an unbeatable historical tour of the grounds by Tim Buckley jumping between everything from geology to the property’s connections through the various owners over the centuries with everyone from George Bernard Shaw to British royalty and Irish and European political leaders.
Maraviglioso !!!
A truly hidden gem in Ireland - the blend of leisure, nature, trendiness, practicality, and comfort, all in one place. Food was delicious... the room supr spacious and comfortable. The staff was super kind and friendly... ! Price = Quality.!
Fantastic family fun in the Kingdom
We stayed 6 nights in one of the woodland villas but still used the hotel facilities. They have everything you need and are well kitted out. The location is only a 10min walk or so to the hotel itself, along a safe walkway with a lovely playground and zipline for the kids. I can't speak highly enough of every single staff member we met. So friendly and willing to chat to our kids too. The many walks around the hotel are just amazing. From fairy walks to well thought out treasure hunts, there is something for all ages. There's also a small indoor kids area for small kids and a huts with games for older kids should the weather turn sour. There's also a coffee shop onsite which is great for takeaway coffees to bring on your stroll. It's a 5 mins drive from Sneem which is a beautiful little village with more cafes for lunch options. Overall I can't recommend it enough and cant wait to go back!
Relaxing few days in Kerry
3 day stay with use of excellent facilities and evening meals .Breakfast ,in particular full Irish could be better but overall quite good.Staff helpful and friendly. Surrounding walks well sign posted and reduced rate for 9 hole golf course was all worth while.Weather was good so makes everything great.More evening entertainment and a comfortable TV lounge would be nice
Outstanding Hotel
Outstanding service, facilities and food. Excellent breakfast and dinner, extremely attentive staff. The new infinity pool is excellent as is the thermal suite and pool. The signposted walks take you to some breathtaking views and the 9 hole golf course is also worthy of a visit.
LOVELY STAFF... MAGIC VIEWS... EXQUISITE FOOD... 👌
Had the BEST customer service experience ever.... We went for our son's birthday, and from the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed.... starting with smiling faces during the check-in, opening the door to the lodge and finding a lovely birthday letter for him, to ending with a happy birthday song for him during dinner at the restaurant. The entire experience was amazing... lovely walks around the hotel, the play area for the kids, the infinite pool is unreal, the spa area beautiful and relaxing, the kayaking with Noel was one of our favourite activities ..... and the food was exquisite. Can't wait to be back!
Stunning setting, Great resort
Beautiful hotel on the Ring of Kerry, excellent dining experience, picturesque hiking trails, newly renovated spa, friendly service. We were blessed with clear sunny weather but the inside was nice enough to spend a weekend or week in any weather. We will definitely be back
Fabulous experience
Fabulous place. Stunning setting. We stayed in a woodland villa which was very spacious and comfortable. Love the views from the dining room. The walking trails are extensive and had a great guide in Vincent Hyland. Great space in the swimming pool and the infinity pool is heavenly. Will definitely come back
Uninspiring
Arrived with great expectations but left sorely disappointed. Indeed so disappointed we checked out two days earlier than planned. Our room, in the original building, was shabby and uninviting. Food in the brasserie arrived lukewarm and service was poor.
Very bad experience
We recently stayed here, it really did not live up to expectations. The spa treatment was substandard, food was terrible and the suite did not live up to what it was supposed to be. No pressure at all in the shower, a bare trickle, I had to send back my main course in the pygmalion restaurant as it was inedible, the waiter agreed that this was the case. As for the spa treatment, I had the back massage and Indian head massage, it was very poor, did not last the full hour therapist was sighing throughout the treatment. Overall a very bad experience for the price, especially in these times, people are trying to save money and me and my partner stayed here as a treat for our anniversary which turned out to be a disaster. Definitely would not recommend. The potential is there, its just lack of experience and training of the staff that let it down.
Non Residents not allowed to eat in Hotel
Myself and my wife made our way to kenmare for a drive in hope of having lunch in the parknasilla , we looked on the menu on the website and looked forward to the food. I rang the hotel from kenmare, only to be told, we were not allowed to have lunch in the bar, due to been non residents. There is No Information on their website or social media posts stating that non residents are not allowed. I have previously stayed in this hotel and also ate here as a non resident. I was very dissapointed that we could not eat in the hotel on a midweek day in march. Also the hotel should state this on their website, that they do not accept non residents. This might save people a car journey.
2 times the charm
This was our 2nd Visit to Parknasilla we really enjoyed our stay. Our Room was OUT OF THIS WORLD, it was so comfortable and very spacious. The food was amazing the service was amazing the whole experience is amazing hence why we came back again. The Spa Treatment was excellent, the new Outdoor Pool was a nice suprise from when we were last here and it was nice, and warm and we look forward to coming back again!
A special place .
We enjoyed another amazing weekend in Parknasilla. It really is one of Ireland’s Gems. Everything is what we want from a weekend away, Top service but informal. Rooms are very comfortable and the service is excellent . We prefer to eat in the lounge area rather than the restaurant as it is very laid back . Spa area is great as is the addition of an infinity pool. The walks through the trees and along the shore are superb . Always planning the next visit .
A fabulous stay.
Stunning setting and atmosphere. Lovely walks on the grounds. Outdoor hot tubs and spa fabulous. Room was lovely, very comfortable but bathroom could have done with a bit of updating. Stayed for two nights, ate in both the dining room and the bar. On both occasions the food could have been hotter, but it was still a very enjoyable meal. Breakfast was lovely, plenty options. Live music in the bar on Saturday evening was a nice treat. Perfect choice for a weekend of relaxation. Would definitely return. Thank you.
Double charges not fixed - Managers disbelieved me
Parknasilla is a gorgeous hotel located at one of the most stunning places on earth. Sadly the service was not up to par with the location and facility. If you make the mistake of putting your room number credentials on a bill but then later opt to pay by another method, such as cash, you’ll be asked to pay twice. This happened to me and to others in our group. I was the only one of the group who complained. I explained to the hotel’s management -- and later to its upper management! -- that I had truly paid by card in one instance (the server had indeed swiped my credit card) and had paid cash in another instance. The “Oh yeah? Prove it!” response from the on-staff management as well as the hotel’s upper management and the implication that I was a liar and common criminal were devastating. This is a cautionary tale to get a receipt for your cash payments and to watch your credit card statements closely, including subsequent fraud alerts. I won’t be returning to Parknasilla.
Gorgeous
We had a fabulous time in Parknasilla, we went with our children and my husbands parents and had the nicest time, rooms were lovely, food was gorgeous, staff were lovely and the walks around the hotel were stunning, gorgeous place to visit and would absolutely recommend it
Excellent 4 star hotel with 5 star attitude.
A positive experience from the moment we arrived . So much to say about this hotel. Friendly and obliging staff. Excellent food from start to finish (we had an all inclusive 5 night package special for November). Fabulous facilities in the spa, pool and especially the outdoor tubs. Amazing free guided walking tours by the poetic and amusing Tim Buckley and Vincent Hyland as well as the unforgettable time spent with Andy and his owls. The numerous walking trails with maps provided and 2 hours solving The Mystery Murder Trail kept us occupied for the duration. For those with children there were special trails as well as a zone for teens to hangout in The Hideout. In the warmer season they provide multiple opportunities for sea activities. I did see a few hardy souls take a dip in the sea. All of this is set in such a beautiful place that is startling in it's beauty regardless of the weather. We relaxed in the sitting room watching the changing skies and reading the newspapers provided. What's not to like? Would hope to return again. A lovely sense of friendliness between the staff here and they are obviously well trained in customer relations. Do not understand why this hotel is not 5 star. Highly recommend for all ages.
Sneem's Best Restaurants that are most frequently booked by customers of The Tram Sneem
Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
