TLDR: was recommended this place by social media (seemingly most people here have) and the owners who also own ShinnEast, Ume, and Sanyuu West. Really high quality sushi, unique and interesting combinations that are different from the other restaurants that is worth coming to! SETTING: we made a reservation for 9pm on a Sunday during Presidents' Day weekend and were able to get the reservation a week in advance. When we arrived there was a crowd waiting outside at the door- we waited for a good 10-15 minutes in the cold before the last guests from the seating before left, and we were allowed in.We haven't had to wait like that before so I think maybe they should time their reservations a bit further apart. The restaurant is mostly a large sushi counter with about 20 seats in a gray, concrete, minimal space. You're seated quite closely together.FOOD: The quality of the sushi at all of these places are incredible and definitely beat Sushi by Bou (my last favorite quality sushi for not too much$$). The pieces are accentuated with a little something to make them pop- including seared tomato, citrus zest, truffle, seared peppers, etc. I loved each piece - really quality sushi. The only critique would be that the rice was loose- too loose sometimes that the rice would almost fall apart if you didn't grab it the right way. It still tasted amazing but was hard to eat sometimes. I saw the plates next to us with rice leftover as they were using chopsticks which would break the rice up.SERVICE: service as always was great. They are highly attentive and you never go long without being helped. I didn't feel rushed but we were in and out quickly.VERDICT: high quality sushi and a great deal at 13 pieces or so for $75. I will be back!
