Just about average, "ok", 50% bla and failing in details and service [missing the idea]
Overall rating from our side is just about the average, because the personell and location is simply ruining the expectation. Precondition is that you will not expect any beef here. This is purely vegetarian. At the first glance it feels like unique, but in total you will know that it is not the package they advertise it to be. In terms of food quality it is "quite" impressive what you can get and make out of food and exploit flavours, quality and presentation. Every single presentation and taste was somewhat impressive, although you notice very quickly that you pay at least 20% for the presentation by the cooks, that bring to to your table and 20% for the exotic way of experiencing vegetarian food. The waiters themselves, I have to clearly say that, are incredible inexperienced and unqualified. Sometimes they should simply shut their mouths and follow the lead of the customers when they ask or state something, instead of repeating what you said loudly, even private words, that were not been addressed towards them at all. This is simply unprofessional and doesn't demonstrate an extrovert but an impertinent behaviour. Lack of empathy for their clients is one important criteria here! I'm very precise in what I say and do and this is what I expect in this class. If I wanted funny and cheeky people, I'd go to a comedy show... This already costs 2 of 5 points for me and we all were not amused about this, we were very close to become angry. The location is very central, but the inside reminds a bit of being a student, going to a party with a pop-up catering. It is just bad and not matching the expectations for this class. For gourmets that require a location with an exceptional ambient, attentive and professional staff, making it very comfortable and lovely for the customer, this place is definitely wrong for you. There are better locations for you. It is nice and interesting, the quality of the 4 and 6 courses menu is certainly worth a star kitchen, but the everything else is not and there is no need to interpret anything else into this. Tian is just the average and will close soon, leaving Munich as far as we have been told. Hence no one will miss this restaurant, because there are simply way better restaurants with superior quality and very competing price levels available. In total we can say that this one, when rating all levels of comfort, staff, food, impression, is only worth 2 out of 5, I'd have given 2.5 of 5 if there weren't those painful details that the staff and waiters simply have been missing, especially for not replacing the cutlery in time and the social deficits we faced. Seems to be a young kitchen, but this is not sufficient at all to justify this. A downgrade will be certainly required. For a Michelin 1-Star we expect more and not just the nice car painting, because the competitors are far better at the same level.

As a hard core vegan, I wanted to love this place, and was looking forward to a loving take on fruits and vegetables, but after our meal , my partner and I were craving some greens .. like a salad.
Although every detail was made with love and care, I found that for a vegetarian and vegan cuisine it was very far removed from the object that it is in fact glorifying: that of the vegetables and fruit it has chosen to honor. Remember Alice Waters or Charlie Trotter both dare to serve living food in their vegan / veg. dishes !
The decor has an oppressive seriousness which paired well with the food .
We had a hard time discriminating which vegetable made up the dish, because the tastes melded together too well , even though the were very welled explained.
I would suggest to them: Please put something living in the space as well as the food .. make some raw ravioli and add some plants to the room . Plants and the foods of God are joys that most people forget . Remind us that we are connected to them !
Or put some of the lovely appetizers stacked
between some exotic lettuces .. or how about placing these little food jewels that they made with a sliver of a perfectly cooked eggplant or Jicama slices or ornamental shaped of raw beets.
The dessert looked disappointing so we opted for the cheese.. My vegan cheese was not as good as some of the artistisian vegan chefs out there like Boris Laucher, and it is possible to make one without as much as Salt. And it was served again without something thought provoking like a jelly of kaki fruit or kumquat halves . The weird perfume of a red dragon fruit next to their cheese, would have been stunning .
Please work more with contrasts .
