I am currently at toca madera visiting LA for the first time. I was excited to try this spot because we have a similar restaurant with amazing service in Toronto called called casa madera. Our reservation was for 845pm. I’m currently waiting to speak to manager because even with a reservation it’s almost 930pm and we have yet to even get sat. The host has the most amount of attitude like being here is doing us some favour. We’ve bought drinks we’ve hung out by the bar we’ve been patient but I can say I do not recommend this place. The worst service I have ever had. I travel a lot and literally am in a different country every month this has been the worst experience of my entire existente. Manager is incompetent the only good thing about this place was the bartender of which while I was waiting by the host stand they got rid of my drink that I had barely touched. 0/10 save your time and money this place is mid. Using the excuse that the place is small isn’t an excuse for pushing people to stand at the bar and forgetting about us all together it’s 935pm they finally offered us a table almost an hour later. The manager stood there and argued and offered free shots and desserts. This review isn’t even to warn you to not go here but for the managers and the hosts do better Your bartenders can’t be the only people with a personality and customer service skills. I dont know if you all need some sort of training on customer service and basic human decency a shot and dessert does not suffice for the time wasted while getting attitude from the host and manager. My complaint wasn’t for comps because we came to eat and have a great time here. Maybe there’s a book at Barnes and noble on how to apologize and treat people when you treat them poorly and waste their time. Do better because if I said there’s room for improvement that would be a massive understatement. The girl at the door. The light skinned host with the attitude as big as her hair needs to find a job that doesn’t require her to be around people coz customer service isn’t for her. Maybe the lights shouldn’t be so dim because y’all can’t see the people you stuff at the back of the bar. For you to send mass confirmation emails twice on dress code but have people wearing onesies and pyjamas but telling us to review the dress code for us to be the best dressed is appalling. Anyways we left the restaurant after they remade the drinks we bought that they threw out for the sheer principle. This place is a dumpster fire and to the girl at the door I hope you see this please find another occupation and a personality because with the service you give chik-fil-a wouldn’t hire you.
