Union New American Tampa Reviews from The Last Year
While the rolls are absolutely mouthwatering, I overall do
While the rolls are absolutely mouthwatering, I overall do not find this restaurant to be as "worth it" as others. It has a cool vibe, but the service has been lacking on both occasions that I dined here. The salmon is good, but nothing amazing. The shrimp appetizer is actually quite yummy. Overall, it has its pro's and con's but I'd much rather dine elsewhere in Tampa.
I give 5 starts bc my friends and I had a great experience.
This place is on the pricey side but the portions are good. My friend got the Saigon 101 and I got the vibe check. Our drinks were very delicious. To start we shared the oysters, tuna roll and the sticky bun. The sticky bun was the best I have had and with a hint of citrus flavor. The cream cheese paired well with it. We all love the sushi roll and it was crunchy and the flavors were divine. The oysters were good and I think best to pair with the cocktail sauce. My friend and I shared the kimchi fried rice and I got the Korean fried chicken and waffle. Sorry to the Korean community and I've been to Korea but that was the best Kimchi fried rice I've ever had (don't stone me) and it had a great balance of salty and acid. My only issue with the chicken and waffle is syrup is needed for the waffles as they don't shine on their own and the gochujang sauce doesn't compliment it. The fried chicken itself was amazing. Great flavor, not too spicy and perfectly crunchy. I was disappointed the Rooftop was closed on Sundays but overall great service and food. Would recommend.
Vibe is good, service lacking, some food better than others.
The Gulf snapper is bland and dry. The artichoke appetizer and tuna crispy rice was good. Though I would have loved some soy sauce with it but the server never came back so that I could ask. Steaks were good. Had a reservation for 8:30 pm and weren't sat till 9:45pm. Stood at bar for 30min without being acknowledged by the bartender. Probably wouldn't go back.
Andres ! You made our night.
I usually eat at the bar but so happy we took a table. The service you provided was the best and most professional I have ever received. Love Union. Food atmosphere and service.
Always a great time at Union! They have the worst
Always a great time at Union! They have the worst all-compact spaces parking lot but there still seems to be enough to go around. They had a sax player on the beautiful pink floral ceiling patio which had fans for this Florida heat but we sat inside near the kitchen. Staff is always attentive and knowledgeable. We tried their new brunch menu that had some items that are available on their regular menu-such as sushi and also lots of sweet and savory options for brunch. We shared the sticky bun which was sweet, sticky and delicious paired with the butter. We also split the pork belly tacos which were savory and cooked to perfection. The new nigiri flight was fresh and had a few different flavor profiles for everyone's liking. We loved their cocktails especially the lychee lover and Saigon 101. We shared the shrimp and grits and all were a huge fan! We will definitely be back to try more!
Really nice place.
Beautifully decorated and very upscale and modern feel! Very nice for a date night or birthday dinner. The service is above and beyond. Our waiter was so lovely and knowledgeable on the whole menu and knew what to recommend. The food is very unique and has many different spins on classic favorites and a broad spectrum of many different cuisines. Something for everyone. I will say, the down side is it is EXPENSIVE. So it's more of a special occasion dining experience.
Union has been on my list for over a year now.
Went for happy hour and sat at the bar. Right off the bat the ambiance is so cute! There's the patio, inside dining, the bar, and the rooftop. It's a great place to take a date, family, or colleagues. The bar tender has phenomenal service and knows how to make amazing cocktails. While the service, ambiance, and drinks were amazing the food was unfortunately lacking. I had such high expectations and I thought the food was subpar. The best food item were the sliders. Fries, skewers, and shrimp tempura were all average. I would definitely like to go back and try dinner though as I've heard amazing things about Union.

Union is one of my favorite places! Just stopped in to try their brunch recently and it was sooo good! I had the shrimp and grits, sticky bun, steak frites, egg sabayon. I highly recommend, the dining experience never seems to disappoint me and I love dining in luxury. 10/10 on everything !

Went to celebrate with Anniversary at Union and had a great experience. We had reservations and I'm glad we did because it was packed!!!! We opted to sit inside so we did have to wait for a table. We sat at the bar to wait and ordered drinks. Although our bartender wasn't that friendly, Diana, who was another bartender was way more personable and offered us a free charcuterie board. Our server was also amazing! Garrett L had a memorable, positive personality. He offered his recommendations and checked in appropriately at the table. The gulf snapper did lack some flavor, which was a bit disappointing but the union board was delicious. I'm sure we will be back to try to sushi!

Exciting news, foodies! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Union New American, and let me tell you, it was an experience like no other! From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the beautiful atmosphere that enveloped me. The modern yet cozy decor, ambient lighting, and stylish interior design instantly set the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. But let's talk about the food, shall we? Oh my taste buds! A work of art, meticulously crafted whether you're a fan of seafood, steak, or vegetarian fare, their menu has something to satisfy every palate. I have to raise my glass to Elena and her hostess staff who went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. If you're looking for a dining experience that will leave you speechless, I highly recommend giving Union New American a shot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

We had a dinner reservation for 6 and we were seated in the bar area at a high top table. This was not the ambiance we were looking for especially when spending $600 for dinner and drinks. We thought the food and drinks were overpriced. We are thankful that in Tampa we have so many excellent choices for dining out.

I've only visited for brunch, but overall my experience was pretty good. The cocktails were the highlight of my experience, especially the unique Saigon 101. The Hong Kong Style French toast was excellent, wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside, with delicious olive oil pudding and white caramel. The huevos union was a unique savory dish; I loved the cheesy potato foam, perfect for dipping the crusty bread in. I was looking forward to trying the fried mistake mushrooms, but they were a disappointment, soggy and not crispy at all. The potato rosti had a similar problem, only crispy on the edges, but dense and soggy in the middle. The salmon roe gave it a nice flavor profile though. Service was great, despite it being rather busy, and the place truly is elegant inside. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, with hanging flowers and vines. Overall, worth a visit for some of their more unique and creative brunch options!
Disappointing and definitely not worth the price! Ambiance
Disappointing and definitely not worth the price! Ambiance - stellar Service - spot on, friendly, and knowledgeable Drinks - Delicious Food - good and bad Milk Bread is like crack, so good. Im gluten intolerant but had to try it and it was worth the price I had to pay later for eating bread Caesar Salad with the gf crumble is exceptional, probably one of the best Caesar I've had in a long time. A friend had the salmon roll with BBQ sauce. The salmon wasn't fresh. She ate half thanks to the BBQ sauce but left the rest to be thrown away Another friend like her roll enough to finish it, but it wasn't great. Better off getting sushi and a sushi joint and not at Union I had the St Louis Ribs. I barely ate 2, it was smokey but that was it. The texture and flavor was eehh. The fries were thin limp borderline soggy 3 drinks, 2 salads, 1 bread, 2 rolls, and 1 ribs was $200, $240 with tip. The only reason I gave it a 3 and not a 2 was the drinks, bread, and salad were great. Too bad the rest were eehh
Every single thing that I ate at this restaurant was
Every single thing that I ate at this restaurant was absolutely amazing! I was very impressed. I will definitely be back. If you are looking for an amazing dinner, this is your place!
Endless options.
Apps were elite. Could have just ordered two rounds of the sea bass and tenderloin satays. Sushi was fresh and on point. The challah bread is special. Ribeye was juicy, paired up with the loaded Idaho potatoes. Vibes were elevated, good music. Gerald McCoy pulled up from TB Bucs. Service was good.
Awesome vibe at union - food was good but where this place
Awesome vibe at union - food was good but where this place stands apart from the rest is hands down our server, David - being a hospitality major and professional for me to be impressed it's fairly difficult - not here ! I highly recommend asking for David's section, service is 5 star- recommendations were spot on - and he's funny as hell. First time dining but certainly a new hot spot moving forward - kudos to you David

Awesome experience! Came here with a group of 6 for a business lunch and will definitely be back. We were greeted promptly with filtered water and menus. We ordered appetizers - Hamachi Crudo, Parker House Milk Bread, and Waygu Beef Tartare. For lunch we ordered, the burger, a caesar salad with steak, the steak frites, and the poke bowl. Everyone raved about the burger! Saying it was one of the best burgers they've had. The caesar salad with steak was fresh, homemade dressing, and steak was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back!
Great food and drinks, great place to go with friends.
Their milk bread is chef kiss!
This was my boyfriends and I second time back at Union,
This was my boyfriends and I second time back at Union, this time to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Right away, our waiter Garrett brought us two glasses of champagne on the house to celebrate. So sweet, it really made our night. We of course had to also get espresso martinis because it's my fav espresso martini in all of Tampa. We got the crispy tuna roll to start and I'm SO glad we did. The tuna melted in our mouths and dare I say I like this sushi more than any other sushi place in Tampa. Highly recommend the crispy tuna roll. For entrees, I got the gulf snapper and my boyfriend got the NY strip. Best fish I've had in a long, long time, served with sweet potatoes that made my tummy so happy. Delicious steak, cooked perfectly with their unbeatable steak sauce. Carrots as a side or app is a pro move. Nothing else left to say except Garrett was the best waiter we could have asked for, delivering the best food to celebrate a special night for us. Thanks Union!
Came here on a Thursday evening dinner date with my gal pal.
We had 6pm reservations when we showed up it wasn't super packed yet, but by the time we left it did get busier. Our waiter was great with telling us about the menu items and giving his top recommendations. My friend and I both got the Lychee Lover cocktail which was gin, elderflower, grapefruit lychee and lavender. I don't usually drink gin but the combination of flavors were so good we ended up drinking two! For food, I got the magic salmon roll which had salmon, ikura, kewpie mayo, furikake and salmon skin and also got the vegetable fried rice. Everything was tasty. There are definitely some other items on the menu I want to try so I would go back. It's pricy but what isn't these days? Would also love just sitting at the bar next time for this drink again!

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
