Vesta Redwood City Reviews from The Last Year
The pizza was overall pretty good - got the margarita
The pizza was overall pretty good - got the margarita pizza, however for the price preferred the pie to be slightly bigger. The crust was great and tasty, and the menu had many vegetarian and even vegan options. Ordered their bread pudding - would definitely not recommend, the bread was very dense and dry. Otherwise pretty good food!
Everyone enjoyed all the dishes.
We ate family style and ordered a bunch bites that we shared. So many meatless options too. Everything was tasty and fresh. Staff was welcoming.

Delicious pizza! For years, I wasn't really into pizza but lately, I started to enjoy pizza so I came here with my friends and the pizzas were so good. I can see why they're so busy. The thin crust with the toppings are the perfect g balance.

Went to Vesta on Monday, 4/30 celebrating one of my friend's birthday. My friends had been to Vesta a few times, it was my first time. We were seated on the patio located in the back of the restaurant. The Ambiance was nice, a bit noisy and hard to hear our conversation, but pleasant. Waitress was attentive. Our starter was grilled pear drizzled with a honey reduction dressing, with spoonfuls of Burrata cheese in between; I would go back just for this! My friends had the beet salad, which they said was good, I had the Kale one; it was ok, but needed something else other than parm cheese, not only for flavor but to add color. I would add cubes of grilled pumpkin. Then we had pizza margarita, absolutely delicious. So many selections of pizza, (their specialty), the thinnest crust, baked in their brick oven, which is open and you see it as you're walking to the back of the restaurant. Definitely recommend Vesta, especially if you're a pizza fan.
Great place to grab dinner.
Boyfriend is vegan so this place is very accommodating with their options and it's delicious. Great little gem in downtown.
Excellent food but far too overpriced.
Ambiance and service was excellent. Menu could use a bit more diversity.
The sausage and honey pizza is my favorite.
I have tried the others and they are all good too.
A gem of a restaurant worth seeking out
This is a little gem of a restaurant in a downtown that sparkles with gems so it might be easy to overlook. I recommend you LOOK for it. The salads are creative with local and seasonal produce. I selected the beet salad and found a shallow bowl chock full of bite sized morsels complemented with similarly cut avocados mixed with just the right amount of frisee & arugula along with a sprinkle of herbs and cheese so that nothing overpowered this complex mix. I added a side of grilled bread and olive oil to complete my idea of the perfect lunch. But I also looked around the table at my grouping of friends who were waxing poetic over their choices: artisanal pizzas topped with traditional or seasonal produce offerings, inventive small plates including a charred cauliflower that toured the table and still served as a meal for the one who ordered it! I will return for many reasons, not the least of which was the great service, but also because I never made it to the dessert menu.
Not your standard pizza, but as a judgemental food critic
Not your standard pizza, but as a judgemental food critic who likes unique, interesting, and creative food that uses uncompromising ingredients and prep methods I would strongly recommend Vesta - great salads and small plates, and some of their seasonal rotating pizza choices are on my list of best food I've ever had. Their different choices can be dramatically different so if you don't find your first choice amazing, try again (I have several favorites that are mind-blowing - and there are some menu items I'm just not nearly as thrilled by due to personal taste, not lack of quality)

I have been here 3x.
Once eat in. 2x take out. All were not good experiences. I wanted to like this place because of all good reviews, and I guess the "vibe" is good. All 3x, the pizza was burnt and middle of the pizza was soggy. Very dissappointing. Also, the service is not good. Very rude. They take their time engaging with us like were the plague. When we went for pickup, I had to stand there for what seemed like an hour before getting noticed. When we went to dine in, it seemed like they didn't want us eating there. Maybe it's the way we look? We look like a working class middle aged asian couple wearing fleece and hoodies. We don't wear a lot of makeup and have a fake smile. Maybe if you have a certain look or know management and are regulars, you get the good pizza and service.
Excellente
We had lunch at Vesta today. Our first time and , boy, we will be return customers . We had the beet salad, zucchini cakes and Italian sausage and honey pizza; all were a hit. I would highly recommend this restaurant
Vesta not the 'besta'
Went on a Saturday night and decided to eat inside. Very noisy and hard to carry on a conversation. First problem is the menu. We are of the older generation and found the black script of the menu on brown paper was not very clear. Better once we turned on our iPhone flashlight. We made our choices and were promptly served. The pizza's were okay and we then talked about where this pizza ranked with others in the area. While they were 'good', they were not 'spectacular', especially given the price point. One of us had a salad and she was satisfied. For dessert, I ordered the Mexican chocolate bread pudding served in a vanilla sauce and a topping of whipped cream. It looked good. Unfortunately, it was dry and rather tasteless. Not sure if this was a leftover from the night before or not. If this was fresh, maybe better although this appeared to have been cut out of a large pan. Service was good and efficient. We judge our meals on the value for the money standard. This failed miserably and we were trying to figure out how TripAdvisor rated this the #1 restaurant in Redwood City. Needless to say, we won't be back. There are so many other eateries to eat at in the area.
Now, This is a Local Bottle of Wine!
So, wine aficionados...you want to try a local wine from the Bay side of the Santa Cruz Mountains.... (which doesn't produce enough wine to have its own appellation)...go to Vesta and order a bottle of the La Honda Sauvignon Blanc! They get grapes from La Honda (in the mountains above Redwood City) and mix them with Dry Creek wine from Sonoma to produce a real local wine! La Honda winery is right there in Redwood City (doesn't have tastings at the winery where they mix the juice)! Nice street side surroundings too! I went all over to find a local bottle, and this was perfect to sit and mellow beneath the street side trees.
Incredible food, great service & ambiance
Very friendly and quick service. Food is awesome. Their sausage & honey pizza is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, anywhere.
Delicious food!
Delicious food. The three of us were here yesterday. However, the food came very quickly. But that may also be more the American culture. The pizza was super tasty and made in the brick oven. Burrata and mushrooms on toast are delicious!
