Not value for money. Please don’t waste your money.
Fish was not fresh. Roasted meat was too salty and was definitely reheated. Fish cost $132 but it tasted worse than the ones you get at the Tze Char stall. This will be my last time at Wah Lok.

Food was amazing; especially the shark's fins dumpling soup (Kun Tong Kao). Service was sterling as usual. The Crab Meat Dumpling was delicious too! The meat from our Peking Duck was used for Fried Mee Sua. Well done!

We were rushed to finish our food in about an hour's time (1130 to 1245pm). Pd $300+ for dim sum, I would expect better service and experience.

We were there for Mother's day celebration. We would like to compliment the Manager, Tonny for the exceptionally excellent service. He is customer-orientated and can feel that he has the passion. He gave good recommendation on the food to order. He will also check back with us on our needs frequently. The food was good. Definitely worth it.

Had an abalone set menu, which was tasty and decent value but would’ve preferred to have had a choice - there was only one set menu available for a smaller group. The true highlight of the dining experience was really the warm service, especially from Mee Mee (hope I got her name right). She gave good suggestions and knew her product enough to be able to describe and advise on menu items or substitutions. The restaurant took my cake on arrival and served it nicely presented on a display plate and came prepared with a lighter for the candle. Proactively asked if we needed photos etc. Felt really looked after by Mee Mee. Really proactive with service, always appreciated especially with family birthday celebrations with fussier older folks.

From a Cantonese family - one of the few authentic dim sum experiences that’s not overpriced Service is unpretentious and ernest just like what a yum cha experience should be Recipes are authentic and traditional and delicious Ambiance and location is convenient right next to raffles city

Food is definitely yummy. Personal Service is good too, No doubt about it. However, it would be better if the service staff DO NOT hurriedly collect the empty plates when guests are in the midst of seated and chatting. Hands just come across to collect the plates. It is somehow rude. Should at least asked politely whether it is ok to collect the empty cutleries. Hope can see improvements in this area.
Be the first to ReplySignificant hike in price,, dramatic decline in food quality to mediocracy.
We had had good dining experience from the past: good food with fair prices, but we have not dinner here for a couple of years. This time was a total disappointment: very mediocre food (not as good as some common chain Chinese Restauraut’s), over priced (5 pax for over $530). Food is heavily seafood and a steamed red grouper (600g) cause nearly $120. We ordered 6 courses and not a single dish can be called tasty.

Excellent food and service. Was worried about limited time as we only had the seating for 1130-1245. But it worked out. Not rushed, but well managed by the team. Food was piping hot and delicious. The star of the show must have been the Mee Sua lobster. Highly recommended. Everyone raved about it. They waived corkage for my bottle of bubbly and provided flutes and ice bucket. For the birthday cake I brought, they also obliged with dessert plates. All in all.. a great experience. Will be back.

I’m from the U.S., and I want to preface my review by saying that I have eaten at many of the finest and best restaurants around the world, and in my entire life, I have never had food and service like I had at Wah Lok. Our waitress was super attentive to us, and the food was OUTSTANDING! I am still dreaming about the chicken dish I ate (pictured in this review. I took a photo of it to be reminded of how amazing it is). I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting delicious Cantonese cuisine.

Had my annual cny lunch there. While the dim sum and service was decent, I was taken aback with the dessert. We ordered the lotus seed and chestnut beancurd. Spit out the lotus cos it was sour. Mentioned to the server who changed for us, but the new one came with no lotus and clearly neither an explanation nor an apology was given. The bill was not cheap, $400+ between 5 adults and 1 child, with very limited menu options. Will look for a new venue.

We have been having Chinese New Year eve dinings at Wa Lok for more than two decades. Despite the busy goings on these important family unions Wa Lok never fail to deliver their usual prompt service and consisitent quality dishes. It's the place to go for good taste cantonese cuisines.

The dinner is super worth of money and also it very traditional taste of Cantonese. The menu recommenced is good. The chief is super, the staff is very nice and always puts on a warm smile. They made me feel at home. I have been dining at wah lok for more than 10 years. Chinese union dinner and my mum birthday celebration. Must go and try their food

We went as a family of 5 and found that it was expensive for what we received. It has class and style and the staff do a great job but meals good but not outstanding for the prices we paid. We have been before and thought this time the standard was not the same. Extensive menu and drinks etc as you would expect.
Be the first to ReplyA great and yummy place for Dim Sum / Yum Cha in Singapore
Excellent Dim Sum. Simple yet refined & authentic. Nice and cozy dinning room where you can catch up with family and friends over excellent food.

Although their service can be quite bad during my visit last Friday evening with my 3 friends, we are glad that the chefs maintain the high standard of food. There were not much variety of food to choose from it's menu this time as compared with last year. Too bad, great dim sum only serve during day time, which I unable to packet the baked charsiew pau. Their service standard is from average to bad that I did not expect of it. My overall customer experience is unpleasant, starting from confirmation of booking and attending customer to seats, throughout the dinner time and payment process. A good follow up is needed from the higher management so that we'll go back for more soon.

My family was well taken care by Tony Quek and his staff, good recommendation on food. Knowledgeable, friendly and a good sense of humour too.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated, poor service.
Service was very poor as the staff did not know how to react. We tried to communicate in both Chinese and English but they were just at a lost.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food as always!
An order from the alacart menu turned out well and everyone was happy with the taste and portions. Food came in good time despite a fair crowd in the evening, giving friends enough time to chat and catch up even as the dishes are served in good timely. Aside from a minor event of wrongly recorded order for one dessert which was ratified quickly, all of us had a great time.

We decided on a special night as they family had gathered for New Year in Singapore. We have been here before Covid and found the place very good. More people here this time but the service was excellent our personal waiter was very humorous and great at his job. The food was first class and we had a great night with perhaps to much food. Nice that it is in the Carlton so you don't have to go to far to get to bed if you stay there.

The waiting was great and the quality of the dishes was delicious. The quantity and serving size is right that you can have variety and not be overwhelmed.
Be the first to ReplyAnother chance another disappointment
Though I would give them up on weekends, weekdays would be alright. Turns out many hits and misses on weekdays too. Har gow's prawns were not very fresh, had a fishy taste. Siew mai was good but became smaller than before. Sharksfin dumpling soup wasn't hot when served and pretty tasteless broth. Had a few other dishes and they were quite nice. The only very good item was signature char siew bun. Will take a long time before we visit again...
