Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Saturday night for dinner with a friend.
We arrived around 730pm and they seated us right away. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly and gave great recommendations. We ordered oysters, calamari, salmon, and Brussel sprouts, all of which were very delicious. There were TVs near the bar where we could catch the NBA game and I really enjoyed that. There is parking next door and they will validate for you. Overall, great experience and great service. Will definitely be back.

Water Grill is an absolute gem in the heart of downtown! From the moment our group stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Sheryl runs a tight ship with grace and professionalism, ensuring every guest feels like a VIP. Our server, Denise, was great. Her knowledge of the menu and recommendations made our dining experience exceptional. She went above and beyond. Everything we ordered was delicious. 5 stars all around.

We sat at the bar and Jonathon "Johnny" was our bartender and server. He is a vibe!!! Amazing person. Good energy. Efficient. Fast. On top of it. I would come back here just for him. The food is good too ;) Get the calamari with the oyster dipping sauces. The white and purple ones. See photos. We appreciate you, Johnny!
Be the first to ReplyHad an amazing dinner at watergrill.
It was a little busy for a Monday, but a convention was probably in town. We had the seafood tower and couple of cocktails. Great service from Kelly our server, we had black on she offered us black napkins right away, her service was very prompt and efficient. Drinks took forever but it wasn't her fault. Otherwise, the food and service as phenomenal.

The ambiance was comfortable with manageable noise levels. Enjoyed the fresh and flavorful bread service. The off-menu pink bream ceviche was a standout, deserving of a 5/5 rating. Oysters were also notably fresh. The lobster roll showcased fresh ingredients, complemented by crispy toasted bread. While slightly bland, it might be typical for a lighter flavor profile in lobster rolls, as it was my first experience with one. The filet was cooked correctly. Suggestion: offering steak butters as an alternative to chimichurri would enhance the dining experience
Be the first to ReplySeafood is always top-notch.
Sergio at the counter is great! Terrific power- lunch spot in the heart of the Financial District. Best fish in DTLA. Beautiful building.

BLUF Clams and chorizo (yes!!!!) calamari (yes) crab cake (yes) Love, love, love our date night at the Water Grill. Was here about a month ago and couldn't wait to get back for another helping of the Clams and Chorizo. This is a great dish but we go old school and soak our bread in the clam and chorizo sauce as part of our "plan of attack". The sauce has a hint of Safron, garlic and other tasty spices. Oooohh so good! Order this, you won't be disappointed. The Calamari and Crab Cake were both cooked to perfection as well. The house bread they serve you pre-meal w the garlic butter is to die for. Service was outstanding and the ambiance just as good!

Amazing place, the food is good, The service is terrible the waitress was horrible her name is Giovanna I gave her a tip that for me was enough according to the service she gave me that was nothing more than she appeared 3 times all night, despite that I return in front of my guests to complain that I had to give her more tip because I had only given her 10%, she ruined the night and I don't return to that place again.
Be the first to ReplyBest service ever.
Carlos and Chris were amazing. Carlos was the waiter and I believe Chris was a waiter as well. The food was perfect. The pricing amazing. Again thank you so much to Chris and Carlos, and all the other waiters and waitresses that were so kind.

We were seated immediately and our server Luis was wonderful. We ordered a few cocktails and a variety of appetizers. We had the halibut cheek which was delightful, the seafood tower, and crab cake; for our main entrees we had the rib eye, Mac and cheese, shrimp scampi, garden roll, lobster bisque and the Shrimp Louie Salad. From the service to the food, everything was amazing! I definitely recommend this place and we will be coming back soon!

My husband and I came out for date night! We had the oyster sampler, the crab cake and the filet- delicious! Emerson our waiter, was amazing! His service was friendly and attentive and he's funny! Highly recommend coming here. Hopefully you have the same luck to get Emerson to help!

Be the first to ReplyMy partner and I have had the chance to finally check this
My partner and I have had the chance to finally check this place off of our list of restaurants to try out & we will for sure be back! It started off with the warm greeting of the manager, Sherryl! She is so personable, engaging, and provided the best hospitality from entry to leaving. She made sure the floor was attended to at all times and we can tell that her and her team worked very well together. We were at the bar and all of the bartenders were very nice, made sure you were comfortable and had really great cocktail options. The seafood was fresh, the entrees and appetizers we ordered were hot and there were so many options to choose from. We cannot wait to go back for dessert and to have such a wonderful dinner experience again!

The food was amazing as always, and the service was exceptional. Emerson was our waiter for the night and all of his recommendations were spot on as well as his exceptional service!
Be the first to ReplyWish I could write a better report but here goes.
Came here for a date night with wifey and it was just...meh. I've been to the Santa Monica location and the views/vibes were immaculate. Here? Kinda depressing. Even though we came on a Sunday night, it was about a third to half full at its apex (our reso was for 6:30pm) not to mention the walk over from The Wolves bar nearby was a bit sketchy. Food was ok, nothing to write home about for the price we paid. Our waiter was still wearing a mask making it both hard to understand and ruining the personal touch. For a better vibe/experience, I highly recommend the SM location. This one was just...ok.

I've lived in downtown since 2015 and things have gone downhill here. Go to the Santa Monica or San Diego Gaslamp District locations. It's got to be the work of GM Lexi who doesn't even know how to resolve a complaint about selling me a 70 cent Caesar salad for $16. Also they need to clean their fixtures and bar ornaments sometime. All that dust cannot be healthy.

GREAT FOOD BUT HORRIBLE SERVICEI love coming here for my seafood fix especially oysters! Their scallop dish and Chilean seabass dishes are amazing always solid. Poke with fried wontons we're yummy but could've used less sesame oil. The seafood platter is actually a really great deal. I ordered the medium one that usually is dor 3-4 people as my main entree (lol) because for $100 getting lobster, crab, dozen oysters and shrimp cocktails, scallops, clams, mussels and snails WAS A DEAL!!!Hubby got the lobster roll Connecticut style (warm) and it was hearty and delish. Fries were crispy. Only complaint was the staff there are not very professional. The host chick kept fixing her hair in the mirror behind my seat and one of the waitresses had a major attitude problem and made my husband and I feel uncomfortable when she was rude serving us our wine. They should work at a fast food drive in not at a nice establishment like Water Grill.

I was here for my girls bday; all went fine, until check came and I paid 200 cash, about 50 bucks on the card and 50 tip in cash. When I get home my card was charged for the whole amount of the bill despite that I put 200 cash. Pretty much this dinner cost 500 bucks for my girl and I. I called spoke to about 5 different ppl/managers and nothing was fixed until about a week later, including a call to my bank for their error. District manager said there would be some kind of comp for the headache as waiter entered in error and then they fixed, but nothing was heard of it! Their initial excuse was that they added a hold, similar to the one they do for hotels. Then they said was entered in error, then bs all the way. Mind blowing and very very disrespectful to us as clients. To everyone eating there check your bank before leaving!!
Be the first to ReplyOK they're in the heart of downtown if you're looking for
OK they're in the heart of downtown if you're looking for quality seafood food, this is your place. My favorites are the scallops with a Melody of pistachio and mandarin oranges. Oysters for sure stone crabs 1000%, but my favorite is their house sourdough bread. Omg
Be the first to ReplyI absolutely love this restaurant.
Well, growing up in a seafood, loving family helps prime one for looking for great seafood all the time. I have been here numerous times and enjoy items such as a clam chowder oysters on the half shell or a live spiny lobster from Mexico. I cannot remember any meal that I did not enjoy in every dish I ordered was tasty and fresh. There's limited street parking, but there is easy valet parking five dollars with validation. It is a short drive to the music center so very convenient for a pre-theater dining and you can usually get a spot at the bar if you don't have a reservation or are solo .The ambience is classy, and upscale, sitting a stage for a nice evening out for the theater or an opera. I am a semi regular here so that should speak volumes
Be the first to ReplyLove the seafood plates here, and the service is great.
It gets really busy sometimes, but we're coming back for sure!

Food and service was great! Not huge portions so I'd recommend ordering some sort of appetizer with dinner, but we were all happy with our meals. Nice selection of wines and drinks as well. Parking is a bit of a pain, but so is everywhere else in DTLA.
Be the first to ReplyLove the food here and the service is always great.
