WIND Japanese and Thai Mississauga Reviews from The Last Year
Lovely food and ambience.
Must try dishes are their maki rolls and chicken satay skewers. The robo server is a nice, even if gimmicky, touch
Japanese & Thai food in Mississauga Ontario
Very good Japanese and Thai food. Service is good. Good wine choice too. It has Ala Carte menu as well as fixed rate menu for all you can eat.
I always love coming here.
I have been to going to their Mississauga location for years and have once tried the St. Catharines location as well- the Mississauga one definitely has better food and service. So Wind is amongst the nicer AYCE Japanese places which offers Thai food as well. A win win. It is a pricier than the competitors but I feel their quality is better as well. I often get their sushis and sashimis along with tons of fried appetizers like tempura. I also love their Thai curries they offer my favs are the fish and beef ones. Their selection of food items is endless. Definitely something for everyone. Like most places you order on a tablet and most items come out via robots which is pretty cool especially if you are going with kids. This location's interior is nicely done up and is always well staffed. The customer service is great. Lots of parking outside but it can get busy especially on the weekends.
Used to be good, now its very very bad
I used to come here all the time before the covid years but a few friends of mine have gone recently and said it went downhill. I had to find out myself, and after going tonight i have to agree completely. Its very very poor, dont even know how it became this bad. Food doesnt even taste authentic and good anymore. They served us cold beef which i had to take back 2 times. Very very bad all over, but it was busy which i have no idea why or how it is. Anyways, if youre thinking of going here, probably find another alternative place. Youll most likely be let down

It's does not look like much from the outside but when you get in the atmosphere changes.they had great service and the food was really good had the sweet and sour chicken and torched shrimp which was really good.
Pass on the restaurant
We odered in and it was not good, when we opened the container it smelled like fish. Not worth the money.
Avoid this place and eat elsewhere
Ordered sashimi/sushi party tray and tempura takeout. Once got home, there is no soy sauce and no wasabi at all. The tempura sauce was like water and tasteless. Called them back and they said we live too far so be it. Raw fish was not fresh and the veggie tempura was like soggy french fries. First time and last time there. If you want real Jap food, spend a bit more and go order/eat at a real Jap restaurant instead. Most of the takeout went into the garbage bin at the end. Horrible place.

This place is busy on weekends, so reservation is recommended. For AYCE, the food is served on small plates.
AYCE $40.99/adult/M-F dinner
Well had to give this spot a try when realised they have a location in Niagara too. This convenient location is relatively close (*) to the outlet mall, with parking. Atmosphere is clean and fresh/new (*) Modern and elegant. Current prices meant ensuring stomachs had the capacity to fill. So worked up an appetite beforehand. How very novel having the robots deliver the food to the table (*) Sometimes a server would be close by to pick off and place on table. Other times, when busy, diners need to do this themselves. What we witnessed were people taking other people’s orders. A little annoying as we were patient but ended up asking a server (*) to double check on a couple of items. Didn’t want to re-order them in case it was just busy and still on the way. The instructions mentioned at the start by our head server - special mention (*) as recognised him from a different restaurant he worked at S&F- ‘Take only the items on the level with the BLUE LIGHT’ Removing (*) for prices. Actually they are fair for this category of AYCE, given the current economy.
This AYCE sushi restaurant is the best one in Mississauga.
Waitstaff's are very attentive the quality of sashimi is fantastic so fresh large portions and very tasty. I only go to this place for their sashimi and all other food is okay in my taste. I'm a sashimi fan and always looking for more place with great quality of fresh fish
I used to love this restaurant however the quality and
I used to love this restaurant however the quality and selection have dramatically dropped. Sushi: lack of selection and freshness Hot food: it all tastes the same. Beef somehow it's very difficult to chew through it. Desert: inconsistent qualify, Overall, If you are going to choose AYCE, go to Dragon Legend by Hwy 7. It's 10 times better even it's 6 ~7 dollars more. ( lobster, oyster, snow crab - depends on dates )
Racist Place
Racist spot!!!! It was a group of us celebrating a wedding and we thought this place wouldn’t disappoint. Well I was told on arrival I couldn’t bring my baby stroller in- so obviously it’s not a place suited for families. But since I know my right as I work with the government I know once the stroller wasn’t a hazard we we fine. We folded it up and all was good. We were there for two hours and not once our waiter came to do a courtesy check. Second when it was time to leave and we were waiting for the bill in the lobby area- my husband decided to take baby out of the car seat so she can stretch her legs before the ride home. It was time to pay so I went to get him- however behind me was the waiter who thought we were leaving without paying. Keep in mind the rest of the wedding party was still in the lobby. Then he continued to give up attitude about how we wanted to split the bill. I told him it was impossible to answer his question without knowing the amount first. He finally brought it; we paid and didn’t leave him a dime. So sad cause he would have gotten a great time as we were a group. Will not recommend this place and will never go back.
After a long day at Niagara Falls, my friend and I were
After a long day at Niagara Falls, my friend and I were famished and ready to eat! The parking lot was a little small but easy to find! The ambiance of the restaurant gave classy but still casual. Our server (forgot his name) was ready to help us at all times and answered our questions. This place is AYCE style, with both sushi and thai food. We liked more of the sushi, as it was big and fresh. I especially enjoyed their sashimi. The desserts at the end were also good but too sweet for me. I loved the crème brûlée though. I can't recommend this place enough. It has everything you can ask for and more! I hope to come back here the next time I'm in Canada.

Swing by wind jap and thai when in town; it's so good i was here twice in the last three days! Like that the portions aren't huge. This is good because if u order something that sucks, ur not stuck eating it. The food taste pretty good, even my babacare likes the food here! Had a good time w my two birds, chim and embo; would def come back again, but not in the next few days. Still so full from tonight's dinner, my bock bock feels big right now lol
Exceptional Dining Experience
What a way to dine and try so many different dishes. Flavourful sauces, perfectly cooked meats and veggies. Fun to order via iPad and watch the robots deliver your orders. They are accompanied by lovely serving staff. In addition a chef came out and went from table to table to offer tastes of skewered chicken in teriyaki sauce. The menu is vast and there is something (many things actually) there for everyone. You can choose to order specific dishes or the all you can eat approach. These dishes tend to be smaller but you can order as many as you like. It is a great way to sample new things. To my surprise I found many new dishes that I would enjoy again. The ambiance is upscale and welcoming. Dining areas are nicely broken up so that it is also cozy. Regrettably I didn’t get pictures as there were so many different dishes and the food just kept coming. A fun and delicious way to dine.

This place is popular so you need reservations ahead! The Japanese food is good, we loved that they brought out some meats and seafood on skewers and offered it to guests Brazilian style. We also liked how fresh the sashimi is here. The service is great, I couldn't take pictures of the food fast enough because they came to our table really fast! The Ambiance is modern and trendy, but the bathrooms need better maintenance (half the toilets were backed up). will definitely come back in the future to try more of their food!
This place was shockingly good.
I came here on a Thursday night with no reservations, a party of 2, and was seated within 10 minutes. They had the cutest little robot that showed us to our table very quickly. The restaurant is decorated elegantly and is not too loud. Ordering is mostly done through a tablet. Drinks are ordered through the servers. I love the robots bringing food out! They have little cat faces that smile when their job is done and they race off to deliver food to another table. The Thai food was especially delicious and unexpected. I really liked the noodles and the green curry. I also didn't expect the people walking around serving stuff on skewers like Brazilian BBQ places, but without the big scary knives - everything was pre-portioned and served with tongs. The presentation of the sashimi was very nice, too. Everything came on top of a big bowl of ice, so that the fish stays nice and cold. All in all, this was a great experience, and totally worth going back to!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
