Hooks, Lies, and Stinker
I too join the chorus of the more than disappointed patrons of Wolfgang Puck. Just yesterday, we called the 54th outlet saying we wanted to order a lobster. We were assured that they had lobsters. We arrived at the restaurant and had our cocktails and when the waiter came over to take our order, I ordered lobsters. First I was greeted with the chorus that they had no large lobsters and that they had two small lobsters. Then they came back saying that they have no lobsters even though the menu, which shows no price, shows that they offer lobsters. I wound up ordering overcooked lambchops. We asked the manager in view of the circumstances for some kind of concession. All he could come up with was one dessert and coffee. Given the circumstances, this was totally unacceptable. So please warn anyone away from going to Wolfgang Puck. They too will be disappointed as I was. Besides, the manager was rude.
Be the first to ReplyAfter all, New York is all about steakhouses
Unlike Wolfgang in Japan and Hawaii, this is directly managed so it's the best. The atmosphere and aged beef are both good and delicious. I also got my favorite steamed lobster, a male, for over 3 pounds. The prices have gone up quite a bit and the appetizers at Wolfgang aren't that great so I refrained from reviewing it, but the real thing is delicious after all! ๏ธ

We ordered the porterhouse for two. The steak came out grey in color and and it had no flavor. Their pictures show a lovely brown color or char but this had none. It was tasteless and had a lot of grizzle or tendons and fat. We have had steak at many steakhouses such as Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, N.Y. or Gallaghers in the city and never had anything like this. The cost was high and the value was not there. TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT A GOOD STEAK>

We went with a great deal of anticipation and ordered three items. Mixed salad which was better that most. A backed potato which arrived as baked as it should be. HOWEVER the prime Steak ordered rare arrived rare but cold on the inside. ADDITIONALLY as prime steak it had no taste and itโs color was GREY not any near as the color of the photos in their web site. Needless the prices were high which I expected but the steak did not deserve to be served as a prime steak at a prestigious steak house. I wonโt go back!

Late Lunch. Great bread! Excellent friendly service! ROCCO manager typically at Tri-Becca lication was engaging! Because The Lipstick Building is being completely gutted and upgraded the scaffolding obstructs a cleatly defined entrance! MUST enter via 54th

Arrived early for a dinner meeting and the people at the bar were friendly and helpful while I waited. Was with a large group and most had steak although some had grilled Chilean sea bass. Those that had the sea bass said it was good. Had large prawn shrimp cocktail, lobster cocktail, jumbo lump crab cocktail and thick sliced Canadian bacon for openers. Then a fresh mozzarella and beefsteak tomato salad. Main course was Ribeye steak, German potatoes, asparagus, creamed spinach, sautรฉed onions and sautรฉed mushrooms. Steak and everything else was very good. We had a variety of desserts and these were also good. Service was good.

Poor quality food, anonymous place, unjustifiably expensive. Expecially the wines prices. One of the worst dinners I have ever experienced.

It was a while from last dinner at Wolfgang and the situation is worse. The prices increased while the quality (and the quantity) dropped. We were 2,me and wife, and we had the porterhouse for two and as side the sauted mushrooms. The fillet part of steak was made of 3 (three) small pieces, unbelievable !! We cannot pay 114 $ (plus tax , plus tips) for this quantity of meat. The sauted mushrooms (once upon a time excellent) were dry and burned. The dessert, a cheese cake, instead was super. Service ok.
We don't return.
Best Steak Ever! No Kidding!
Hands down, best steakhouse ever!!. I know that sounds far-fetched since we've been lucky enough to have eaten at practically every well-known steakhouse in NYC, but this place was truly special. My former favorite was "Delmonico's". First, the atmosphere is average, BUT, the service was phenomenal (all waiters here....gotta love old school) and of course the "PRIME" steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband had the bone-in rib eye and couldn't finish it (which he normally does elsewhere). I had the filet....charred crispiness on the outside, buttery soft inside. Also, we ordered one of their house specialities - German potatoes (chunky style hash browns w/sauteed onions), and creamed spinach, both superb. We live in CT now, but can't wait to return when we're back in the City. Oh....and the apple strudel was even better than ones we've had in Austria and Germany. Just unreal!!

I don't even remember how many times we've eaten here among other locations. This one is our favorite in NYC.
Made a 10:30 reservation. Showed up at 9:30, seated at 10pm. Very happy with that....we would have waited till our specific time. Very crowded, but it always is. Because it is THAT GOOD.
Ordered a great bottle of wine, porterhouse for 2 (rare and perfect), the bacon (always amazing), and the ice cream sundae (MMmmmm). We always order the same thing and it's always absolutely fabulous!
We don't order "sides" after our first visit, because a person can only eat so much and we have to have dessert!
Porterhouse steak
An excellent steak and really good German potatoes and onion rings. Service was a little indifferent and itโs all very expensive. Still- an exceptionally good steak. The Porterhouse was fine for 3 of us as itโs huge.

Last night we went to the location on Park Avenue. We had dinner reservations for 7:45. Our table was not ready when we arrived and we were told to go to the bar. The whole area around reception and in the bar was loud and shoulder to shoulder with people. This was a very uncomfortable atmosphere but we decided to wait it out. When we went back to check on our table the hostesses were rude. We still were not seated by 8:30. This restaurant clearly over- books their tables. Many of the patrons were over-served while waiting on a table. Eventually a fight broke out and someone fell into a table. At this point we left - just as the police were pulling up! Stay away! These people have no idea how to run a fine restaurant.
