I had a great lunch here in the past, so returned for dinner this time. Although I loved my lunch, I did not enjoy dinner. The tasting menu dinner consisted of all seafood courses except one meat course - I was kind of sick of seafood at the end. Some of amuse bouches were good. Most of the dishes seemed to be innovative, but pretentious, and the flavor combinations were weird (1 star off). For example, there was a cracker with spicy romesco sauce, but the sauce was more like a Sriracha sauce. The dessert was a *mushroom* mousse with truffle (the fungi kind, not the chocolate kind) with white chocolate -- that was really odd. The shrimp risotto was extremely salty that I did not even take a second bite (1 star off). For a 1-star Michelin restaurant, I would have expected someone to have tasted what they were serving. Oh well, I still have the nice memory of lunch here.

Delta Menu €60/pp [Food] - Starter: The starters were all really delicious and definitely got me hooked for what's coming next. There were sardine cracker bites, oyster, and two warm potato balls. - Tuna & jelly crystals w/ beet root infused alcohol: This also did not disappoint. I quite enjoyed the tuna and fun textures from the jelly crystals. I also enjoyed the beet root version of a Bloody Mary I believe this was their palate cleanser. It wasn't too heavy, yet refreshing! - Squid Ink Cod: I didn't taste anything out of the ordinary besides it being a squid ink battered fish and chips without the chips essentially. I wish there was some sort of citrus to cut the fatty cod as well to really brighten up that fish. The few drops of sauce they had on the plate wasn't enough but was tasty. I don't quite remember the sauce but I think it was a house made wasabi mayo? - Duck Risotto: Really rich and tasty the first few bites but as the dinner progressed I do wish, again, that there was some sort of citrus, sweetness, or even some spice to balance out the overly savory duck foie gras. - French Toast & citrus ice cream: A fun dessert to end the dinner off with! Every component worked well and was balanced. [Service] - Super friendly, attentive, helpful [Ambiance] - Very upscale and fine dining atmosphere; I can see why they have a Michelin star! [Overall] - The Delta menu I thought that was already filling enough. - Fun to try once if you're in the area and looking for some fine dining adventures!
Be the first to ReplyCame here to celebrate my wife's birthday.
From start to finish it was perfect. They treated us amazingly. The restaurant is really nice and the noise level is just perfect. The food was also exceptional.

This was my first Michelin-starred restaurant experience! Did not disappoint. We went for a lunch. The restaurant is located in a hotel. It feels very fancy and upscale. Service was excellent. Every course came with a story and the portions were larger than we expected. Delicious flavor combinations. They also serve wine and bread throughout the meal. We left feeling stuffed and very satisfied!

For a Michelin Star restaurant this place was easily one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. The wait staff was rude and most of them ignored my friend possibly because he was Muslim. They didn't give him a menu and didn't say why even though there were a stack of menus right in front of us. When we tried to flag down a waiter or waitress for a menu they ignored us and didn't give him a menu until maybe our 5th ask without any apology or explanation. Even if you disregarded what happened with the wait staff the food was also lacking in flavor and underwhelming or overcooked. Definitely need their star to be revoked. Don't waste ur time or money here.

We opted for the tasting menu and really enjoyed the selection. The food was delicious and definitely creative. It felt like we were in the movie The Menu. Unfortunately, the entire table has to choose the same menu, which sucked for our picky eater.
Be the first to ReplyI had an excellent lunch here for 45 euros.
We arrived before the restaurant opened, and were given some champagne to enjoy in the hotel lobby. The restaurant is bright, modern, and has an elegant feel. Although our lunch was three courses, the meal also came with four amuse-bouches before the appetizer course, three types of bread during the main course, and an assortment of dessert bites after the dessert course. The staff speaks varying levels of English, so I didn't quite understand all the ingredients in each course, but that was fine, as each course was delicious. For appetizer, I chose a green beans-potato salad with a poached egg. The poached egg was perfect, with a nice runny yolk that served as a sauce for the green beans and potatoes. For the main course, I chose the hake fish with greens and croutons. The sweet potato puree that came with it was delicious. For dessert, I chose a berry cheesecake. The cheesecake here is lighter than the ones in the U.S., with more of a sour cream flavor. Lighter or not, I felt completely full after the meal...like for several hours full.
Be the first to ReplyFor a Michelin star, this place was rather underwhelming.
We ended up ordering the "Delta" menu, which costs 60 Euro a person. You get apps (the menu stated a mussels dish, but we were given amuse bouche instead), 3 other plates, dessert along with bread service, water, and petit fours. Overall the food was just okay, nothing was "wow" worthy. I found the tuna dish to be a bit weird, it was too tangy/tart for me, and I'm a person who LOVES tart. The foam was a little offputting - it was def. there for looks and didn't contribute much to the taste of the dish itself. The tempura fish was not good at all - the fish was overcooked and dry. The presentation of the prawn rice was cool, I liked the little house it came in. Unfortunately the rice, was just okay. It lacked any strong flavors and was so big in portion sized that it became tiring to eat after a while.Desserts were great! Loved every one. We were defintely stuffed after the meal, but it wasn't a meal worth of a Michelin experience.

An example of how amazing food, pleasant decor with an open kitchen, prompt and careful service can be disrupted by other guests. The plates were all very good, just a few small hiccups, nothing to do with taste. A couple of the presentations, such as that of the amusé bouches, seemed a bit off. Ridiculously extravagant presentations are expected at this level of restaurant, but I didn't feel they complimented the dishes as well as they could have. Personal opinion. Both the pigeon and Caneton duck were delicious and i finished with the apricot starfish, green tea ice cream and chocolate mousse, also excellent. Unfortunately, my meal and that of all other diners was repeatedly interrupted by loud, obnoxious American tourist on her cell phone. We had hoped the servers or maître d would have solved this problem, but it intermittently lasted about 45 minutes, until she left the restaurant. I was mostly pleased.2021 09 28. M1.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food.
We had the tasting menu and it was amazing. Well deserving of 1 Star, perhaps even 2. Perfect service, great seafood. Great wine. Decoration was simple, but in my opinion food is more important. You can actually see the kitchen while you eat, which his very entertaining.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Michelin 1 star restaurant ever.
It was easy to make reservation for Saturday lunch, this might be the warning sign before we arrive. Waiter ( Maitre D's name (ADIL) )doesn't have any good attitude, no one offer to take our jackets and bags when enter the restaurant, which locate in a 5 star hotel. Server has bad attitude. No explanation on menu. And does not show up after ordering. Only busboy tried very hard to explain to us what's on the dish with their poor English. This bad service waiter is their personal manager. Maitre D's name (ADIL). At the end of the meal, we tried to talk to him about the bad experience for the entire meal. He didn't care. And give us defensive attitude. Later we had to find out who is the restaurant manager from hotel front desk, since in the restaurant people tried to cover each other and not telling us who is the manager. Talked to him. But don't seem like anyone care about the service. Even hotel front desk was saying the restaurant management is kinda messy. Think twice before you go. We ordered the classic menu. Very nice dish presentation. But taste is so so.
Be the first to ReplyI wish I can give zero stars for this terrible restaurant.
From when our party of five walked in, we received a terrible attitude from the Maitre D (ALDI) who showed no interest in introducing himself or the menu. No one helped us with our coats or bags but that part is okay. When we asked the Maire D for a wine menu he brought it over and hovered it in the middle of the table in front of everyone instead of handing it to the person who asked for the menu. That is extremely rude behavior and was the start of a disaster. After we placed the tasting menu order, Aldi disappeared for pretty much the rest of the meal. We waited a while and two servers were serving the dishes one by one. Although the servers were not proficient in English, we could tell that they are working hard to introduce the dishes to us. At a Michelin star restaurant, I was shocked to not have the proper dish introduction. The food themselves also did not taste of MIchelin quality. One of the lamb dish was very gamy and not seasoned well. The seafood dishes were just okay and nothing stood out in terms of taste, cooking style, or presentation. Tastes were bad compared to other Michelin star restaurants in the area.At the end of the meal, we waited a long time after dessert and no one asked us if we would like coffee with the dessert or offer to bring the check. We waited at least 15 minutes after the last dessert was served and all the servers were gone serving other far away tables. We called for a manager and Aldi showed up, confirming that he is the manager (but in fact, he's just the Maitre D). We told him how dissatisfied we are and he started arguing with us on how things are different in the restaurant. He offered no apologies at the end, said thank you, and walked away. Another 15 minutes go by and we were left sitting at the table not knowing what's going on. We walked out to the front of the restaurant to pay and complained to a different manager (Food & Beverage Manager). There is an apology this time but nothing more. We were left to suck up to the bad service, experience, and food. This restaurant does not deserve any Michelin star or recommendation. I would strongly recommend you to NOT eat here.
Be the first to ReplyBeware of choosing to dine here.
Xerta, by far, was our worst dining experience in a recent two-week Spain-Portugal trip. This place does not deserve its Michelin accolade or your patronage. The treatment we received was degrading and infuriating and the food was so disappointing. The 1st warning sign was when the host who checked us in had absolutely no smile on his face, not an ounce of friendliness. No one offered to take our coat, umbrella (it was a rainy day) and backpacks even though you can clearly see a coat rack in the hall way next to the restaurant entrance. The restaurant was 70% full, the space was clean and picturesque as shown on the internet. We were led to our table by Adil, who was later revealed to be the Maître D (more on this later). The 2nd warning was when Adil came back to take our orders with no introduction of himself, the restaurant or explanation of the menu. I had to ask if he can explain the menu as there were a few tasting menus and a la carte options to choose from. He responded, appearing annoyed and pointing to my menu that was flipped to the Tasting Menu page, "eh these three are cold, the next three are hot dishes and the last ones are desserts. The items are all on here", while gesturing to the whole menu. The lack of respect and professionalism from Adil appeared all too casual, I wondered if all patrons were treated this way. My instincts told me to leave at that point, but I wanted to give the food a chance and not make a scene. I wish I listened to my instincts in hindsight. We ended up ordering the Tasting Menu for our party of 5. I told Adil I am the only one that does not eat oyster in the group, he assured me that it would be substituted with fish. Instead, I received one less-than-fresh boiled (steamed?), unflavored shrimp. I was fine with that; it did seem odd that he didn't know what he was talking about. Courses were served and Adil did not return to our table again until the end. We did notice he would visit other tables multiple times and have friendly conversations. Could it be that we are Asians? We WERE the only table of Asians. Whatever his reason, we definitely felt the discrimination. Nearly all the dish introduction was left to our servers, who were essentially the only positive part of this whole experience. The gentlemen who brought out our food were as friendly and warm as can be. Presentation of the food was nice but the only course I enjoyed taste wise was the Chocolate Trio. The seafood in the appetizer was not as fresh as it should be. The tomato dish had clashing flavors, the blue cheese did not work well. The fish was overcooked and literally sitting in a puddle of slightly diluted hoisin sauce, that's just lazy and unacceptable at a restaurant like this. Off and on, I would smell smokiness in the air and thought it was incense used in the restaurant. It turned out to be the way they served the lamb (with a cloche filled with smoke) at neighboring tables. This was unusual too because it interferes with the sense of smell during the dining process. The lamb was very gamey and not flavored well. Because no course was noteworthy, we just wanted to finish this meal and get out of there. We requested to speak to the restaurant manager about everything that had gone wrong, and a female server retrieved none other than - Adil. We asked him if he was the restaurant manager, he confirmed he is. My instinct told me something was off. Before leaving the building, I spoke to the hotel reception about our experience and asked if Adil is indeed the restaurant manager. The nice gentleman said Adil is the Maitre D, and the restaurant (Food and beverage?) manager is another gentleman who was there during our meal and pointed us to him. We proceeded to express our dissatisfaction with our dining experience, he apologized, but what's done is done and not only was Adil made us feel unwelcome, he was dishonest. This place is NOT recommended and has a long way to go before any Michelin mentions in my opinion.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice ambience .
Servers are helpful however the could improve on the organization . When I arrive to the restaurant I was seated at the tapas bar area instead of the gastronomic restaurant until I requested the tasting menu and then I was reseated . Great wine list by bottle but by glass is more limited . The food was very fresh and tasteful, . Great way to eat catalayan food , lot of seafood and organic vegetables . Very casual clothing , people arrived in shorts , not much for dress code .

Xerta has a few standout hits, but I was a bit underwhelmed for a Michelin restaurant. My favorites were: Egg & potato soup, duck, and the dessert. The fish was very dry and it didn't help that the little grainy bits added. Tomatoes and cheese was also a bit underwhelming, didn't think this plate warranted the price tag.
Be the first to Replyoh, Well, I was going to give a 3 or 3.
5 star, but I gave a 4 cause it's a much better service compare my other night at Hisop.75 Euro for a tasting menu compare any Michelin star restaurant in United States, it's a steal. The best dish is the appetizer and Richman's breakfast. The rice was way to salty. The main duck breast dish is so tough, I had a hard time to cut it and only took a bite.Mango wreath dessert was good. I think the best of the meal is the wine pairing. sommelier did a great job select wines. So extra star here.

1 of the rare 1 Michelin Star restaurants in Spain that can be easily book just a week in advance. I'm surprised that's not more Yelp review of this hot spot. Spacious between tables, airy, modern and quite elegant. Love the see through wine storage. We were drooling over it. For only Euro 75, you got so much food than you could imagine. If this was in the US, you are looking at about USD $250 to pay! They also offer a lunch option for less. It's such a great spot to try out another Michelin Star spot, without breaking the bank! The Catalonian surely knows how to go all out from food to service, everything was excellent. And the handsome young Chef Fran Lopez is a good reason to come back for eyes-candy ;) HA! Just don't tell your boyfriend! - Paella- Seafood Map was amazing, it likes nothing I've ever seen before. - Prawn where you have to eat the whole thing and it's head too.- The Big Bang was a wow dish! - The chocolate dessert makes your heart melt, even for a non-chocolate lover. The wine pairing fell short for us. We understand we are in Spain, but we were hoping to have a few neighbor wines instead for strictly Spanish wines. If we return next time, we will opt for by the glass of bottle service.Their wine list was really well crafted. A lot of fibe Champagne, Krug, Salon to make a few, and Bordeaux First Growth Latour, Mouton, etc., besides their Grand Riserva Rioja selection.
