Yaki Yaki Bo is a typical teppanyaki restaurant with normal
Yaki Yaki Bo is a typical teppanyaki restaurant with normal tasting food. What's memorable however, is the expensive price tag that come with their normal tasting food. I ordered their teppanyaki chicken set. It does not come with rice and I had to pay extra for a bowl of rice. Since it was my first experience, I did not mind the cost, so I went one step ahead and ordered the rice set with sashimi at $7.30. The total set comes with beansprouts, rice, salmon sashimi, chicken and miso soup. The meal was disappointing as it did not justify it's cost. For an additional $7.30, the rice was not perfectly cooked; the sashimi just acceptable and the miso soup tasting as if it was instant miso soup. The chicken was overcooked and the beansprouts seemed 'old' and not 'crunchy'.On top of that, the service was slow and the waiters/waitresses were hard to reach. To conclude, the food was not bad, but at the price that Yaki Yaki Bo was charging, the quality was disappointing. Same quality from a food court at a cheaper price.

Usually I would skip the Japanese restaurants in Jurong Point in favour of more established, "authentic" ones, but I decided to try this at the urging of my friends.I ordered the Teppanyaki Wagyu beef set. This consists of a salad, beef, egg tofu, miso soup, rice and fruit. Overall I felt that the beef slices were nice and tender, and the sweet teppanyaki sauce went well with the meat as well. Overall not a bad meal at all.The 2nd time that I went, I had the Teppanyaki seafood set, which had similar stuff as above except for the type of meat (it had salmon), prawns and scallop). The prawns and scallop were big and satisfying, but the salmon was just so so. However, I do think that it's a pretty decent meal for about $20 or so. Do pop by for a meal while you're in Jurong Point!
