Yakiniku Futago New York Reviews from The Last Year
To give a long story short reason for my rating for those
To give a long story short reason for my rating for those who don't want to read too much, the meats are amazing quality and delicious, but the service wasn't too great and you have to pay for every little thing for the meal /: We booked a last minute reservation early morning of Valentine's Day for 9:15PM at night. Was craving a good Asian bbq and they were one of the few restaurants with reservations still open. We arrived a little early and waited at the bar. We were finally seated at 9:25pm and were seated in one of their private separated rooms with only 2 tables. So it was us and another couple seated separate from everyone else in the restaurant which was nice. Staff is clearly not prepared for a busy night and can manage reservations because I noticed both our table and the couple next to us waited a lot. We finally got to put our order in at 9:50, food came out around 15-20mins later, but also waited longer to have the meat cooked for us, so it was kind of just sitting there. Meat came before our rice and had to ask about it again, had to flip over our own meat because the waiter would forget and we didn't want our meat to burn. Again meat quality is great, you have to pay for all the sides, and the service just does not match the quality of food and experience the restaurant markets.
The Harami skirt steak and Mocha Rush were definite
The Harami skirt steak and Mocha Rush were definite highlights, showcasing exceptional taste and quality. The Prime short rib and pork, while okay, didn't quite match the excellence of the former dishes. However, the A5 Wagyu Toro Sushi stole the spotlight with its sublime, melt-in-your-mouth perfection--an absolute standout. The appetizers maintained a consistently good standard.
Blown away.
I have no other words to describe this experience. We came by train from DC and even though we had a 1:00pm reservation, we dropped by at noon to see if they could accommodate us. If not, did you see that bar?! So much sake!!! And the prices are relatively fair for it. Anyways, they were able to accommodate us and the servers were so sweet and kind. We got a bottle of sake to share (at first, our main male server was suggesting the carafe since he saw we were two women, BUT we can throw down) and then we got the dragon kalbi, yukhoe, treasure box, a5 assortment nigiri, and assorted kimchi. Dragon kalbi (4 stars): flavours were delicious with the marinade of being not too sweet, but had the right balance of salt, sweet, and umami. However, it's just like other kalbi, just a unique shape with the knife cuts. Wagyu assortment nigiri (4.5 stars): 3 pieces of nigiri with one piece topped with ikura; one with uni; and one plain. The meat is tender and flavourful and the toppings went so well with the meat. My only critique is that the uni was form Maine, so it didn't have as much depth of flavour as those from Hokkaido. Yukhoe (4 stars): this came with Bosch pear, but the marinade was a tad too sweet. We also wished they would give us some nori to make wraps. Meat quality was excellent though. Overall, if they had some nori and slightly tweak the marinade, it would be perfect. Yukhoe uni ikura spoon (4.5 stars): same yukhoe meat, but it also had salty and buttery uni with fresh ikura. The balance in this dish was better, so it was better blend of salt, umami, and sweet. Treasure box of rice, uni, and A5 wagyu (5 stars): divine, decadent, and sublime. The waiter mixes it for you table side and they added fresh wasabi for an added kick. You have a perfect blend of buttery fat from the wagyu; sweetness from the marinade; salt from the uni; and a bit of spice and freshness from the wasabi. I would definitely recommend this one for a bit of carb and meat. Bathroom-- a very strange thing to review, but it had heated toilets and they even had mouth wash. It had soft nature music and everything was cleaned to the smallest cracks. Very much appreciated. Everything from the service to the food was superb. This find was a gem for our trip and we are so excited to come back!
Well, my first review of the year goes to this restaurant,
Well, my first review of the year goes to this restaurant, very underwhelmed for the prices of everything and the service we received. I'll start with the interior, fucking beautiful, I enjoyed the dim lighting, the music was upbeat and still remained a calm atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean and nice. We also had a good table where we did not feel like we were intruding on other parties (we were a party of 4). Drinks - over priced and were not as strong as I expected them to be for the price. Like for 20.00 cocktail, it should have least gave me a buzz. If I do happen to go again I will only get a water. Everyone at the table had to order the pre fix menu, and this is the tea. pre fix menu is NOT worth it. The amount of food they gave 4 people was not enough and would have been better off each of us getting an entree and then sharing potluck style. Presentation was beautiful and the meat that was served was flavorful, (I am a pescatarian but this is an exception), but not even an experience with the food we were served. None of us has been to the restaurant and then they dropped the food off and bounced and then continued to bring the food out QUICK like I didn't even finish my salad. They did not communicate if we were ready for the next course. If this was my first time to cook my own meat I would never do it again because they did not show us. Our friend had an allergic to shrimp they were suppose to bring chicken and fries. Girl, no fries. And STILL charged us for the full thing. Half through the course we had to ask for our garlic rice - and then when it came we had to wait for it to be crispy. One bowl for 4 people was not satisfactory at all. The the dessert, terrible, shaved ice over vanilla ice cream and one with shaved ice with matcha ice cream. I understand matcha ice cream is difficult to make, but you are a restaurant charging 150+ for a prefix menu it should be perfected. The matcha powder it was garnished with was better than the ice cream. Overall I feel like with the poor service that did not really communicate with us, underwhelming dessert, food having to be reminded which shouldn't be our job, feeling rushed to eat our food, I wouldn't be coming back unless it was paid for by someone else. I feel like I would had a better experience in a whole in the wall place with more of an interactive staff.
About a 1-1.
5: Yakiniku Futago is a Japanese BBQ restaurant that offers both a pre-fixed menu as well as being able to order a la carte. We wanted to pick-and-choose our meats, so we went for the latter: +Assorted Kimchi - not sure why this isn't complimentary? I thought this was a bit crazy +Assorted Namul - again, not sure why this isn't complimentary? +Spinach Garlic Salad - a good salad option +Hot Stone Garlic Rice - had a generous amount of garlic +Hot Stone Bibimap with Beef, Cheese, & Demi-Glace - this was just not good; not what I expected from a dolsot bibimbop +Japanese-Style cold Reimen Noodles - a good way to end a meal +Dragon Kalbi +Harami Steak - way too tough +Prime Short Rib (aka, Galbi) - this was a bit too fatty; sticking with the Dragon Kalbi is best Note that there is a 2-hour limit for dine-in. The staff is efficient, but if you're not a fast eater, you may feel rushed. We're quick eaters, so this wasn't an issue. The exuberant charging of the banchans just left a bad taste in my mouth. Price point and the quality of the meats just wasn't hitting it. +tough or chewy cuts of meats +charges you for banchans!

4.5 / 5.0 - I'd had Yakiniku Futago on my list for ages and finally came for lunch yesterday with a friend. I didn't even know they were open for lunch until recently and I'm guessing it's not widely known because it wasn't super busy. It is on the pricier side, but was so worth it. For lunch, they have Regular and 1/2 size. The Regular is double the price of the 1/2 size and comes with 8 slices of meat--the 1/2 size comes with 4. My friend and I decided to get one of each, so we could each have 6 slices. In addition to the BBQ, they had rice sets and other "add-on's" like soup and salad, as well as other appetizer dishes and "beef sushi." We ordered: - 1 Prime Short Rib (Kalbi) / Regular ($30+) - 1 Prime Short Rib (Kalbi) / 1/2 ($15+) - 2 Rice Sets ($5+ each) - 1 Japanese Style Cold Noodles ($8+) The regular size is served with salad, and the rice set included Japanese steamed rice, bone marrow egg soup and namul. Everything was so delicious and the meat just melted in our mouths. It is a spacious restaurant and the tables were spaced out, which was nice. And there is good ventilation right above the grill, so it didn't get smokey at all. $40+ is a bit expensive for lunch, especially for the amount of food you get, but it is high quality meat. If you love yakiniku and have never been, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Wow!! I came here randomly because I saw the lunch menu and my car was parked right in front. The service was phenomenal. The server was helpful, attentive and didn't rush me at all even when I walked in when the kitchen was almost closing. Truthfully, he was one of the greatest servers and the reason why I would be back. The kids do not like meat, but this was the first place they requested more meat and ate the food quickly. Their garlic fried rice was very flavorful, the kids started to fight over it. In general, a great spot to try and definitely a step up above the traditional AYCE BBQ. If you want to come out here to try something different, this is the place to go!
I encountered several issues during my visit.
Firstly, the attitude of the staff at the front desk was unwelcoming, which was a bad start to my experience. Additionally, the service was slow and busy, and to my dismay, the meats served were undercooked. Considering these factors, I also found the pricing to be quite high for the overall quality provided.
I stumbled upon this restaurant while I was shopping.
I was greeted with a friendly staff. I had the Kalbi lunch special which was absolutely delicious. The salad was delicious to my palate but the star of the show was the marinaded Kalbi. Each table had a grill in the middle. It was recommended to grill the Kalbi for 1 min on each side. The Kalbi was melting in my mouth. It was so tender and the flavors were on point. The dipping sauces were one of a kind which appealed to my palate along with the dessert which was Japanese Tiramisu. It's a Japanese Experience!
We arrived approximately 5 minutes earlier than our 5:00 PM
We arrived approximately 5 minutes earlier than our 5:00 PM reservation. The staff greeted us and we were promptly seated. Our server was commendable and had a very disciplined demeanor. We ordered the Pre-Fixed Menu for funsies. Everything came out swiftly, and we were done in about half an hour. My beef is that all the meats appeared to have been marinated in the same sauce, so the only differentiating factor was the cuts. This is the equivalent of putting Chick Fil A sauce on everything. You are left wondering if it is the sauce that you like or what the item actually is. Highlights of the night are the following: Garlic Rice- It has a good amount of garlic and the crispy bits are a stark contrast to everything else which was relatively soft. Beef Tongue- Tender and not too fatty. Black Wagyu Kalbi- The thickness of the cut emphasizes the quality and flavor of the meat. Unfortunately, the value is not quite there. The experience overall was positive, but I did not leave feeling satiated.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
