Terrible Service
I wanted to try this restaurant in my neighborhood. I went in on Saturday night and sat at the bar which was 3/4 full. The bartender was frantically mixing drinks and delivering them to tables himself (which Iโve never seen anywhere). It took him 10 mins to acknowledge my presence and ask for my drink order. Once he brought it I told him I was ready to order. He walked away and talked to a couple at the end of the bar for ten mins and I couldnt get his attention. I walked out. Iโm sure he didnโt even notice. F%#k this place. They have no interest in my business.
Be the first to ReplyA very nice, enjoyable and expensive splurge
Came here to have dinner with a friend. We actually came here to try the famous waguy beef. And we knew it was going to be expensive. The service was a bit rushed in the beginning but things kind of calmed down later on. For drinks, I had a Manhattan. It's okay but not the best I ever had. For appetizers, we had the assorted namul (spinach, fern, daikon, carrot and bean sprout). I personally enjoyed it. The shrimp and quail egg & shiso was also good. The bone marrow spicy soup is a must-order (Japanese spicy means not spicy at all to me, LOL). The flavor is deep and earthy. Wonderful for a cold winter night. We also had the wagyu shshi assortment (comes in three pieces). We did not order it first but I saw someone at the next table having it and the first reaction he had after eating it was "wow". Well, we both had the same reaction: wow, but this is more of a pricy dish -- $45 per 3 pieces of assorted wagyu sushi. Finally for the main meal, we picked the "treasure box" with different cuts of meat. If I remember correctly, there were eight pieces in it and it costs around $200. I was afraid of ruining the expensive meat but fortunately the staff did it for us. All we had to do was eat! In the end for two, it was around $400 before tips and $500 after tips. We left very happy. We knew it was a splurge and the more important thing was that we have experienced this.

We dined at 6:30 on a Friday evening, and the meal and service were okay until 7:30, when we were informed for the first time by the waiter that โlast callโ would happen in 10 minutes because the restaurant needed the table back by 8:00. Weโve often been informed by a restaurant before being seated that there is a time limit and never quarreled with that - but never one hour into a reservation. The bill, by the way, was $260 before tip. Luckily, there are many other barbecue options in the immediate neighborhood (visitors to NYC: see many options on W. 32nd St.), so there is no worry we will need to return.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing dinner - A5 Wagyu, prime beef
It was one of the experiences. All the meat including Wagyu beef they serve was in top quality. Great options of sake, spirits and wine. They grill meat at the table for us as we request, which was perfect for my business dinner. We continued conversation while we watch the server grill meat perfectly for us. Very attentive service at warm & friendly ambiance. Highly recommend

Never knew there could be this many variations or ways to prepare wagyu. Super tasty of course but also of course, expensive. I would have been tempted to order more cuts for the grill if there were more non meat options to go with it like veggie side dishes, rice/tofu side dishes etc.
Be the first to ReplyWow, the best wagyu chateubrian ever had, melting meat in the mouth!
Have the menu (specially if itโs the first time you go, so you can try all the delicacies. Some are a bit excessive like the wagyu with sea urchin... good, but the sea urchin taste is killed. The meats are just incredible. Interesting beer and sake list. Location is modern and nice, staff friendly and knowledgeable. Price is high... but deserved
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and great beef
This place is a must go if you like beef. We have been going there for years and the service and quality have been consistent and top notch. You can order any cut of the beef and it would be delicious. We especially recommend grilled beef with seaweed and uni. Skip the chicken. It is on the pricier side but it would ensure you an enjoyable evening.

My title says it all. Tables are very un-NYC like, meaning spread out and you're not on top of the guests next to you. The servers all were very friendly, attentive, and informative. The food, well, A5 Wagyu Beef, it's why we went here! And my wife and I were not disappointed at all. Once of the best pieces of meat we've ever had. Will visit again when visiting NYC for sure. Highly recommended.

Premium yakiniku with excellent food quality, food, service, and atmosphere. So given this it is not surprising it will cost you. However if money is no object this is the place go wild on A5 kobe beef. Im just happy I have a rich friend
