Fantastic and tasty.
Great discovery! Awesome Venezuelan food with a twist. The Asado negro was to die for: I shared the holiday prix fix for 2 with my daughter and it was so filling and excellent for the price: it had pan de jamón, ensalada de gallina, hallaca, asado negro and ponche crema for dessert. The asado came with arepas, different sauces and guasacaca to accompany it. We had tequeños to start with. I had a cocktail called “Peligroso” with tamarind that was delicious. Everything was beautifully presented, perfectly executed. The place inside is really cute, nice modern decor, all in moody dark greens and dark woods, lit candles. Staff was really sweet and attentive. My only complaint would be light it a bit more, so not so dark (we had a really hard time reading the menus!) We’d def go back! Loved it.

I do not eat meat and our daughter and son in law are vegan. We were surprised at the number of choices they had for everyone, and everything was delicious. I have to mention, too, how great their drinks are. They even had a sazerac, which you don’t find often. The service was outstanding! We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

I would recommend that you try the red snapper. It has light seasoning on the fish itself, but the sauce that it sits in is absolutely scrumptious! It is very bright and citrusy and really good.

We were lucky to get last minute, outdoor (glass-enclosed "greenhouse" that, at a once, was cozy and roomy, with the door left open) reservations on a Saturday night. This Williamsburg restaurant had a menu that worked for three adults with very different tastes. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. We started with the maniocas (corn donuts - very different), Cameron's (shrimp) and empanadas (four different kinds that satisfied the vegetarian and the meat eaters, alike). For mains, I had the cauliflower, my husband the scallops, and my son the asado negro (meant for two - with a little help from his dad, they polished it off). Everything was delicious and appealing. We definitely will go back.

Went last night with my girlfriend for a post-Valentine's Day dinner date. Never heard of this restaurant, it being fairly new, but it looked like a cool spot and an interesting menu. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the restaurant's interior was. Our server was great, attentive, and provided some great recommendations for cocktails and appetizers. The cocktails were outstanding, and the food was spectacular. I had the Baby Shark, and I was blown away with how perfectly balanced a combination of various flavors. Casa Ora is doing some amazing things, and I will certainly be returning, ready to try more of what it has to offer. You won't want to miss this one!
Be the first to ReplyBest Arepas in Brooklyn
We came to Casa Ora for brunch on New Years Day and were NOT disappointed! We were immediately greeted by an extremely friendly host, were sat in a romantic and secluded corner, and were mesmerized by the ambiance.
My boyfriend and I shared the Arepitas (mini arepas), which were delicious. I had the Peach Bellini and my boyfriend had a Bloody Mary—both drinks were great. Finally, I got the Huevos Rancheros (Venezuelan style, of course) and my boyfriend got two large arepas.
Safe to say we are head over heels for Venezuelan cuisine after this experience, and we’d love to return!
Bugs in food
Rude waitress would not replace my plate with an insect in it without charging me extra. Ridiculous!

10 Stars. One of my favorite Venezuelan restaurants if not my favorite. Food is authentic but elevated and elegant. Flavors are there, rich and delicate. The bollos pelones, mandocas, ceviche are to die for. The baby shark, the octopus and the Asado Negro are some of my favorites too. Drinks are in another label, Caracas Caracas and Venezuela libre are my first choice. Reservations are highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyI vowed not to write a review
I vowed not to write a review until a restaurant truly deserved it. Tonight I am saddened to say, Casa Ora and it’s future patrons deserve to know the tragedy that was my experience.
It started off with exceptional cocktails. Well crafted and timely delivered....
Then, as the night got cooler the experience fell off terribly. First, as we asked them to turn heaters up. Three different individuals came by to make different bs excuses - including, my favorite, “we would get fined if we made it warmer.”
We were “offered” a wait inside for inside seats at 25% capacity. However, when we peered inside it was packed wall-to-wall with people. If that’s 25% capacity, I can’t imagine what a full house is like.
Out of courtesy and consideration for the hardship the restaurant may be in, we decided to wait.
Long story short, we waited more than an hour and a half for food - the kind servers continuously insisting it would “only be 5 minutes longer.”
Once our food arrived, it was mediocre at best. The scallops were good but the Pabellon was VERY dry and overcooked.
They tried their best to comp us with a drink but the experience was unacceptable.
When we brought issue with the bill, the owner brushed us off.
We got to dinner at 8:15 and left at 11:30 exhausted, offended, and appalled.
Something Different but Something Special
A Venezuelian restaurant wouldn’t be high on most people’s ‘to visit’ list and was definitely a speculative pick......but we were not disappointed! An interesting combination of different flavours using various ingredients to cater for all tastes. Watch out for the scallops, they were excellent while the guacamole was straight from the hometown region!! Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Went to Casa Ora for a celebratory dinner and it was absolutely killer. The short rib was tender and delicious, the scallops were beautifully seared and juicy, and the cuatro (!) leches cake was to die for. Service was excellent. We’re definitely going back to try the rest of the menu!
