Early dinner in the climate controlled annex on a hot day between Christmas and new year. Shared Platter with the Beetroot and Feta salad and the Fat Chips with Aoli and their own draught beer... After finding our preferred options were closed, we went to Eating House because it was on the way home. Our previous visits to this place we had Pizza or Pasta and while both were okay, they weren't particularly good value. On this occasion we were after a light early dinner and selected from the tapas menu. The Platter we selected had lamb fillets, chicken tender fillets and a nice piece of pork belly, each accompanied by a tasty sauce and a little garnish of fresh lettuce leaves. Presentation on a paddle was not bad but under-represented the quality of the dish. This was a really good selection and we wouldn't hesitate returning just for the Platter. The Beetroot and Feta salad was very tasty, great dressing and flavour balance, the chef was really on their game. This also was a good selection and a likely selection on our next visit. The Fat chips with aoli were okay but not particularly Fat. They were seasoned well but we have had better elsewhere and would probably order a healthier option next time around. Their tap beer was quite good. We had the "Collingwood draught" and would order the same again. All up for two people including the two beers was just under $70, which is about the same as we would expect to pay in a pub bistro. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, but not all of them. We were not in a hurry but at times it was difficult to attract their attention from the annex. All said and done, we had a better experience than previous visits and will return.
