La Jacobine Paris Reviews
Amazing service
Food was just fine. But service was amazing! I can’t remember his name but he snuck us in without a reservation. Then had the whole restaurant by himself & we never had to wait for anything. Great experience
Very Good
The food was great , the ambience was very nice and service was friendly and efficient. We will definitively come back again.
Great food , Friendly waiter, Perfect service, Affordable price.
A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Paris! La Jacobine is an absolute must-visit when you find yourself in the heart of Paris. Tucked away in a charming corner, this restaurant exudes Parisian charm and offers an unforgettable dining experience. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by Antonne, our waiter for the evening. His genuine warmth and attentive service immediately set the tone for a delightful meal. Antonne was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also shared anecdotes and recommendations with a down-to-earth charm that made us feel like welcomed guests. The food at La Jacobine is simply outstanding. We were so impressed with our first meal that we couldn't resist returning the next day for more. The Onion Soup was a revelation – rich, flavorful broth topped with perfectly melted cheese and crispy croutons. The Lamb Shank was another highlight – tender, falling-off-the-bone meat complemented by a savory sauce that left us craving more. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and intimate, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal with loved ones. The decor, with its rustic French touches, adds to the overall charm and authenticity of the experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at La Jacobine – it's an experience you won't want to miss when in Paris!
Loved the area , down a busy alleyway
We had another great night as first time in Paris. Enjoyed our meal in this busy restaurant, in a very bustling area. Very enjoyable meal & helpful staff, service was very good
Hidden Gem
Delicious, quaint and cozy!! Adorable location, the food was so delicious we went back and heard others doing the same. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend it.
Quaint and French!
Beauty hidden away with wonderful French food. In a hidden alley way and full of charm. Had the Coq au vin, goat cheese salad, and a gratin. Delicious! Wine was very good and not expensive (by American standards). Service was excellent. Would recommend stopping by a few days before and making reservations.
So much more than just a meal
My partner and I found this restaurant walking back one evening and saw how busy it was. We asked to book for the next evening , however we were advised to turn up about 8. We arrived and Anton (the man on the door) remembered us from the previous evening. He offered as a glass of wine as we waited happily and were shown to our table before we had finished our wine. Not only did we receive wonderful service from Anton and our waiter Alex, the food was the tastiest food we found. The chefs did a fantastic job on all three courses and the tart tatin was outstanding. If we are ever in paris we would head straight back here and it’s worth the wait! Fantastic service, food and experience.
Fabulous
My daughter had found this local restaurant on TripAdvisor while we were searching a place to have dinner together. Since there was a line of 12-15 people infront of it we went to another restaurant near on the same street -which was also a very nice place. The next day in the afternoon I went there alone after shopping, and enjoyed a beautiful and large lunch and a glass of red wine by myself. I had a delicious entree with artichoke and goat cheese and then duck as the main course. Both were so delicious that I enjoyed eating like a bird. On my next visit to Paris it will be my first destination whomever I’m with.
Wonderful bistro, with great desserts.
This is now my favorite restaurant in Paris. We come to Paris a couple times a year, and try to eat two or three times at La Jacobine. It's a very reasonably priced bistro, with traditional french food. The desserts are wonderful. Try their raspberry macaron - it is the traditional macaron cookie, but filled with whipped cream and fresh raspberries. I am convinced that if we make to heaven, we will find the angels dining on this dessert.
Excellent Anniversary dinner
First night in Paris and had our Anniversary dinner there. Got a local to make us reservations. They only take them in person. If no reservation, you won’t have dinner till really late. Service was friendly and helpful for us as Americans. Had all the French things included French Onion soup, escargot and coq au vin. Delicious!
Great little restaurant
Visited over the weekend and it was fantastic. Couldn’t get in on the Friday but had our name taken and advised to come back at 8.30pm the following evening - no issues at all,, the table was ready for us. The service was very efficient and friendly and the food delicious. All for a very reasonable price too. Highly recommended
Well worth the wait!
We came across this tucked away restaurant after watching a travel video on YouTube (Topjaw). We’d read that it was worth making a reservation in advance but unfortunately we only asked our hotel to arrange this a week before and they were fully booked! We stopped by early evening and they put our name down to come back later on in the evening. We arrived back there and we did have to wait a bit for our table but it was no problem for us! The restaurant is cosy and the tables are quite close together (as are a lot in Paris) but that just added to the very Parisian atmosphere. The menu choice was vast and very reasonably priced. For the dishes on there, you’d easily be paying double in England. We had a sharing Camembert to start, the duck confit and beef stew for main and a gateau for dessert. The food was delicious and we couldn’t fault anything. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend booking in advance if you’re able to do it via your hotel. There unfortunately isn’t an online booking system and we couldn’t get through on their phone line. We had an amazing experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris!
Booking Shambles
Took several ttempts by phone to book our table. The person who took the booking confirmed it and told us to be there at 7 p.m. sharp. We were there on time and told there was no booking for us. What a waste of time. So disappointing. They really need to sort our their system.
excellent
third visit within 10 years. Always a delight . Good food, good service, and definitely parisina ambience onion soup was a tad too salty from my personal taste. However, the ducks skin was incredibly crisp just as it should be. Don’t order the salmon starter unless you are starving and do not plan to order anything else, it is mammoth. Onion soup is good, but I expected more depth of flavor in the broth. btw the to go boxes are called Doogie boxes and they have a lot of class.
