Le Procope Paris Reviews
Two years after my last visit it was much better.
Normal. Food and service were good.
Perfection!
What can I say that I haven't said several times before? We managed two dinners at Le Procope and would have squeezed in another if we had more time. Food - service - ambiance - all faultless and we love it! As long as we are able to visit
Nice decor, good food but bad service.
Beautiful interior decor, very Paris looking. Excellent French onion soup. Food was good but service was much to be desired. Waiters ran around rushing like a chicken with their head cut off. Spilled both water and wine while pouring, banging cabinet
Food was mediocre at best.
We think they are relying on their history to draw tourists in the door but it would appear there best days were many years ago. My wife also noted that the women's restrooms were filthy...can only hope the kitchen has better cleaning protocols
Neat place to eat because of the history.
Service was good, food was decent. We didn't need a reservation which was nice even though they were pretty busy.
Memorable "W"
A close friend who studied culinary arts in Paris recommended Le Procope, having dined there years ago. We've passed through St-Andre des Arts for the pen shop and last time we came through it was with our teenagers so we just stopped at a cafe,

Overpriced below average food. Nothing was special. Food below average. Not with it all . Better food just about anywhere. Would have added photos but not worth the time
A historical and good restaurant
The restaurant is full of wonderful history. Seeing Napoleon’s hat there was quite a thrill! The food was good, not exceptional. Good service. A bit pricy, but it was a fun experience!
Very charming, historic
Very beautiful very old and charming decor with good French traditional food. Waiters very nice and welcoming. Very good tartare and excellent fries. The duck was hard to chew. The baba au rhum desert was excellent!
Not very good
The food was such a disappointment. I was really looking forward to this meal but the traditional dishes on the menus were lackluster at best. Procope feeds so many people, it is hard to imagine them doing any better.

Tonight we had dinner at Le Procope, a traditional French restaurant opened in 1686. Napoleon frequented the place and ran up a big tab. As a promise to pay his bill, he left his hat, which they have on display. Food was the best we've had in
Amazingly long history for a restaurant flaunting famous
Amazingly long history for a restaurant flaunting famous enlightenment philosophers and celebrities of sorts as past patrons. Overall a great experience that has a few standout dishes while the rest are meh, but the history and trinkets across the re

This restaurant was recommended to us due to the historic significance and it did not disappoint! The menu, food, and service are all excellent. We enjoyed our first dinner there so much that we just went for a second day!

Magnifique! This was our second time here (we came here during our last visit to Paris), and the restaurant was just as good, if not better! Appetizers: - I don't even like escargot and I ate 3 of them here because they were so delicious - t

Food was more then amazing, I ordered the duck and French onion soup, French onion soup was very very good and is a must-get. Our server (Pierre) was very nice, he forgot our drinks but was very apologetic. Very oldish style feel and design, being t

Visited 05/09/2025 Our first day in Paris and Le Procope was just around the corner from our hotel, (Grand Hotel de l'univers, which I can also recommend.) I understand this is the oldest restaurant in Paris, dating back to 1686. We were here

Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Le Procope Paris at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Le Procope Paris page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Le Procope Paris to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Le Procope Paris!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
